Awesomeness
Awesome
Great video, great advice, not checking and getting every thing aligned up can be expensive if you bust the pump bolting it back up! Thanks!
Im replacing the pump for a guy who rep[laced his 5.7 but installed the TC on the engine first. 1st time i saw this was a ranger but that guy wasnt even close and it was super smashed and deep grooves. Neither ever built pressure.
How do you know if you’ve busted the pump😅?
If you dont get it splined right,it will pull up hard with the bolts, and when you start it and put it in any gear it doesnt do anything because there isnt any pressure!@@davidmarquez1647
@@davidmarquez1647 I'm need to know the same thing!
What I don’t understand is how can the torque converter be too far or too close when it’s ultimately bolted to flex plate. Why does clearance matter if it’s bolted up. It doesn’t free float
Because it comes down to not putting pressure on the transmission pump! Too much pressure and it will burn up almost immediately, not enough pressure or the torque converter incorrectly locked in and it will not engage the pump which circulates the fluid and builds pressure. Remember working on a car is an puzzle by numbers and those numbers need to be exact or things go poof, bang, grrrrrrrrrre,or BOOM!! Which directly affects your wallet!
If you start up your truck and your 4 quarts low on transmission fluid is that going to burn up the pump? By just starting it with that low of a fluid level?
no the refill should be 4 to 6 quarts then start your engine and add fluid from there

What of you have the other style input shaft what's the difference?
That’s what I need to know
@@jeremysessions8810Even the measurements are close. No clue why this video is for a specific type of shaft. Guess we will never know what the author meant.
@@A1rsoftKidhe probably didn’t want to be responsible for someone messing up with the other style shaft.
Why do you say “not this” for the other shaft type. What’s different?
I need to know the same thing
