  • Hey guys, I decided to throw a short video together explaining everything I had to do to fit 35 x 12.50 x 17" tires on my 4Runner.
    Here's the breakdown:
    - Body mount chop (BMC)
    - 3" lift (no body lift)
    - SPC UCAs (caster setting A)
    - Adjust LCA CAM bolts (Pho Runner explains this well, link to his video below)
    - Lots of trimming the fenders
    - Cut and hammer the pinch weld
    - 1.25" wheel spaces (unless you have negative offset wheels, mine at +5)
    - Relocate windshield wiper washer fluid into the engine bay
    - Extended bump stops front and rear

Good video. I have a similar set up, fox 2.0, SPC uppers, wheel spacers with Dobson rear springs. I will say if you off-road “hard” you WILL rub. If you really want to get all the articulation out of the front you need to cut into the firewall. Just adjusting the stock LCA cam tabs isn’t enough.
But good video not a lot out there for 4th gens on 35’s

Ok...you just "out-tired-sized" me ha ha! I did the body mount chop a while ago. Last week, I just put 34s on my 4Runner. Those 35s look great!

@@rollinwiththeolins8998 Good call. I have 4:88s and also put an ARB air locker on the front since the diff was open. The 4:88s make a huge difference! A lot of guys with 35s even go to 4:56. That is what Xoverland did with their new build. But, tough call to go to 4:56 especially if you do a lot of highway driving. I'm not sure I would. I also have the Pedal Commander and that together with the 4:88s is perfect on 34s.

Setting A on your SPC’s? Are you sure? I’m curious to see or hear about your alignment specs…
    I’m on setting F, 35 x 12.5 x 17, -38mm offset. LCA with Taco tabs and front center, rear out. 4th Gen 4Runner
Most folks on 35’s are on setting G on their SPC’s on our rigs.

Hey Dave, yup. Caster setting A worked for me. I followed Pho Runners direction on this, his video link is in the description. My issue was my wheel was still hitting the frame/body, so I had to push it as far forward as possible towards the front bumper.
Nice -38mm wheels! I’m going to be getting rid of my wheel spacers and going with this offset in the future.

When u trim the flares, does it allow more dirt to come in the truck?

    • @rollinwiththeolins8998
      @rollinwiththeolins8998  2 роки тому

Yes it does allow a little bit more dirt to get on the truck cause there’s less fender flare to cover the tire. I get the most dirt from the wheels sticking outside the fenders though.
