I don’t mean to criticize, but although there is now clearance for a 35” tire, that tailgate is not going to take any rough roads with that much weight hanging off it. That is the reason MOPAR makes it a tailgate reinforcement assembly, to prevent failure.
I think the RC relocation bracket is a bit too high up. Prefer EAG. Also, regarding everyone's comments about reinforcement, I hear that is definitely needed for JK but JLs are stronger capable of holding 35s plus up to 85 lbs inner trail rail

Loving that grey JL build so far.
I had a 2015 jeep wrangler sport unlimited with 35 mud claw tires. With the same as a spare and when I changed the oil I rotated the tires including the spare and got 80k miles off of the tires before I had to changed them out.
I’d be more concerned about the hinges and the actual door with that kind of weight

We added 35s on our JL and we found that the swing gate was a little too heavy with just the tire relocation bracket. Had to add the swing gate reinforcement too.
Do you know what lift is on the grey jeep? 3”? And are the tires 35x12.5x17”?

Some places require 3rd brake lights. Near me in Delaware they pound jeeps to death about stuff. They literally didn’t let me pass because “my indicators are too dark” even tho they are brand new bulbs and are stock. Yet they continue to allow someone through with the trunk ratcheted closed and it squealing as it drives

I wouldn’t mount any tire directly attached to the tailgate, especially if you’re doing off-roading a lot, over time it will break the hinges on your tailgate. You should get a tire hanger that attaches to the bumper instead

I lift jeeps all the time, we use the same bracket on all the jl's we do.
What size and kind of lugnuts did you use for the aftermarket fuel wheels

Are the stock bracket on Rubicons different? My JLUR has a few inches gap from the stock 285/70/17 to the brake light.
you left out the fact that you have to take the backing off the brake light and adjust the wire for the length.. also you need the bracket to raise the 35" tire higher then the bumper or it will hit with most.
You should change the fender flares also.
What brand are the rims on the gray Jeep?
Should also look to do tailgate hinge upgrades. Teraflex makes a great tire carrier that braces the hinges as well

I have a 35” tire on the rear tailgate and the light is visible with no lifting of the light. 🤷♂️ I have both a 2018 and 2022 wrangler rubicons with visible brake lights.

That bracket doesn’t help much . You’re still gonna have issues with the hinge support

I'm lost , its the hinges /Gate that everyone worries about not the tire carrier itself . Don't get me wrong the carrier isn't exactly strong but its capable of holding the weight ( know from experience) but from old til new the hinges and Gate were always the problem this is why these aftermarket products came about and why Jeep redesigned the tailgate from the way lighter material. Ok sry end rant , regardless must have full size spare !!!! Lol

Not true....i saved a ton by just ordering a 2" tire spacer.....i got 2 because they were only $2 more than a single and me and a buddy split the cost....i spent a whole $12. Took my 35in tire plenty far away from bumper and under b-light
I take it this company hasn’t survived the Rona? No new content or posts in 5 months and went to order some things from their site and half of the products are no longer there. A shame as they have some cool shirt designs I want to order but don’t know if they exist anymore.
What psi should I run on 35 inch tires, just a question?
I run 37 psi on street, and then of course air down on trail depending on the conditions.

If you run a 35 inch tire on any Jeep you need a rear bumper with the carrier I would never put it on the back door hinge

It only takes one time for it to rip off the back and take out the car behind you and possibly kill them. I've SEEN and heard horror stories of the gate coming off or the tire carrier brake off on the highway.

Hundreds of rapid-fire video jump-cuts, sometimes in between syllables of one word, make this video very hard to watch. I don't think there is one single segment of this video that is more than one second long. Yes it is "edgy", but it is very hard on the eyes. The content is good but the presentation is horrible.
