I have an 05 4runner with a 3 inch lift and BFG k02’s 275/70/17. Not the most aggressive setup but I can agree even with the v6 which I have the engine doesn’t struggle at all. Seriously my favorite car I’ve owned yet.
With 295's at 75MPH you were actually doing closer to 81MPH lol. You have to adjust for rotation of the bigger wheel. I am running 295/70/17 on my V6 4runner with Bilstein.
I’m one of those people who are working on building up a 4Runner but am too broke to really do it, I bought an 03 4Runner for $1900 and 139k miles on it but it sat abandoned for 6 months before I bought it, I bought it and am building it in honor of my grandfather
I'm guessing this setup added 80 lbs, mpgs took a 3 mpg hit, braking distance increased and acceleration slowed and oh yeah the noise. I'm not gonna lie, I like the rugged look though. By the time you finish your build with bumpers, racks, tent, fridge, battery, and other accessories its gonna be one heavy beast. I'd love to see you hit the scales with it loaded for a weekend aventure.
Just got the yotamafia bilstein lift not to long ago. Will be installing them soon but I'm Just wondering what setting did you put on your spc upper control arms? Please and thanks love the rig.
@@TRDJon I been a mechanic for over 2 decades never heard that before first number is size of tire 315 is equivalent to a 35 the second number 70 would be the side wall Thickness from rim to tread and the 17 is the rim Size and inner diameter of the tire never once hear it Also being apart of the width of the tire 9 inch wide tire isn't 295MM's let alone a 315Mm width 315mm is 12.402 inches and 295mm in inches is 11.614 inches love to know we're your getting your information and math buddy

The larger tires will make the engine run at a slower RPM not faster RPM. Your speed is different before and after. So you have to calculate actual speed.
Is there rubbing on this setup? I’m about to lift my 4Runner but I’m not sure how much I should lift it yet. Have you done anything other than a lift to get these tires working, or could I get away with these?
Good lord it looks so perfect. The 4th gen in appearance is my least favorite 4runner gen but when you mod them up, they look just as good as anything.
gunmetal or bronze would pop! set up looks good man. any rubbing at all? your wheels/tires are a bit bigger than what im running but i had to delete the mudflaps and do a little bit of inner fender lining adjustment to get things to not rub.
Negative offset pushes the spoke design of the wheel farther into the center of the wheel it had no bearing or change on how many threads on the studs are engaged 0 degree offset would be the spoke design being 1/4 inch from the front face of the rim.. the information your giving is actually wrong Bud
@@TRDJon I didn't say anything about negative offset and I'm not arguing with you Maybe instead of arguing and saying people are wrong Maybe try to understand it from there point of view I am not going to argue with you
Just be careful with the pedal commanders I haven’t heard to many good things, but then again it’s your vehicle but never this less sick build I also have the v8, maybe check out some super 10s I love mine!
I remember you saying the v8 throttles better than the 5th gen but how much better really is it? I am planning on getting a 4th gen when I can and I want a v6 but would the v8 be worth it
Can you post a link to the trim video? Interested in running the same tire on a 2004 with the OME lift. Not sure how much we want to trim so may have to go down a tire size.
Hooolyyyy.... That looks effing good...!! Too bad I can't run M/Ts here in CO because of the snow. I guess you have to mod those mud flaps right? No rub in front at full lock on a bump / rock? I had to trim a little on my 5th gen with 285/70r17s. KM3s are E load only right? I was thinking to go 285/75r17 load C on my 5th gen but worried if I have to remove mud flaps for rubbing and not sure if the 4L v6 would scream for anything over 285/70s. Don't want to re-gear and get in to a big mod project.
I like the black on black! Does the 295s fit underneath for your spare ? I have a 5th gen and was gonna do the 295 km3 but didn’t know if it would fit where the spare goes
You are probably actually going about 75 MPH when your speedo is reading 70MPH with 295/70/17's if the stock tire size was 265/70/16 Go to tiresize.com for a comparison chart on all the differences between tire sizes. 4Runner looks great.
We put the bilstien lift on about 3” ish and the tires and wheels with -25 off set. Got it aligned and it was good. Chop maybe in the future for full clearance but it’s pretty solid

any trimming for 275/70/17?
Love the look man. I would stick with the Black on Black. Looks amazing 👏

I went with 285/70/17 AT Trimmed 2" off the wheel well.I am running 0 offset . love the handling.
That’s a great looking 4th gen! Looking forward to the rest of the build.
Thank you!! Can’t wait to share more!!!
Gun metal on black👌perfect
HELL YEAH!!!!! THE 4TH GEN IS BEAUTIFUL! Cant wait to win her!!!
Well you did it, made a 4th gen look really good! The black wheels look nice!
Thanks!!!!
Looks great with the black wheels. Gem of a vehicle.
Liking it more and more every day!

BRUH!!! That looks amazing! I love the blacked out look. Nicest 4th gen I’ve seen in a long time!!
Thank you man!!
The wheels are hub centric wheels
Loving this build so much! Thinking to get into a 4th gen when we get back from Germany!
Safe travels back!! Love it man! Thanks!
love those tires , beefed up 4 runner !!!!!
Beefed it up for sure!!
Love this build so far! Getting my 4th gen lifted tomorrow so next upgrade after that will be the wheels and tires as well, thanks for the video 👍🏾
Of course!! Check my Instagram for more behind the scenes of it!
The Black on Black looks amazing!!!!!!
Killer! Thanks man!
Looks a lot like my old 4th gen 4Runner! Very nice.
Love it!

Looks like an undercover police vehicle blacked out. Awesome. You should collab w/Untamed Motors!
That would be cool! No sure where he is based out of, but that would be awesome.
Wow, looks really nice, can't wait to see what you have in store next! 👍👍👍
Got a Prinsu rack coming, full bumper, tire swing, and other goodies :)
Awesome runner! Looks similar to my last 2006, but it was white. Cool video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
This setup is dialed in! Keep the 4th gen content coming👊🏼
Will do!!!!!! Thanks!
I was looking at these last night, wasn't sure they looked good till I saw them on your t4r
Looks great brother!!.
I am right behind you.
Getting my 5th Gen lifted and upgrading tires this week.
Gonna look so good!
you hit it out of the Park buddy!!! looks are amazing and those wheel and tires really set off the look!
Glad you like it!! Thanks man!
You're the Michael Knight of Toyota. Looks great!
Thanks man!!
Gold, let it be GOLD! Gold on black
Classic look.
4runner looks good thats a lot of freckles
Keep the black rims.
Lots of votes for black, I may just leave them then!
Man that looks sick the black is perfect ... love the v8 4th gen
Love it too! Thanks!!!!
Any rubbing? Also, are you concerned about how close the mud flap is to the back tire 2:16?
Alot!! Yes I will be taking it off and trimming alot up front.
Very Nice !.....I said it before, I like the wining noise because it reminds me that I should be doing something Off-Road
That’s the best way to put it!!! Never thought of that
Just got the yotamafia bilstein lift not to long ago. Will be installing them soon but I'm Just wondering what setting did you put on your spc upper control arms? Please and thanks love the rig.
295 isn't the wide of the tire its how tall the tire is a equivalent of a 33 IN tire
False. It is the width as well. In combination with the second number to factor in the height

Black on black.... is the way to go. Looks tough.
It really does
Note on the speed/rpm comparison. When doing calculations you might need to account for the overall difference of the tire.
I need to gps test to see how off we actually are
Jon, that looks fantastic !! I would have chosen the exact combination and size. Keep the sinister look. 😎
I think that is the plan per everyone’s comments. Thanks!!!
The larger tires will make the engine run at a slower RPM not faster RPM. Your speed is different before and after. So you have to calculate actual speed.
How much cutting did you have to do to clear? I'd like to run the same size. My 285s seem to clear with ease. Thanks
That looks amazing! Personally I’d stick with the black. I love the sinister look LOL
It does look freaking sweet
Looking Sweet Dude. Black on Black stay with that. 👍👍

Good lord. I need a 4runner like this

Looks awesome Jon!! Love the murdered out look. Makes me wanna get a 4th gen.
You’ll love it!!
Did u have to trim anything? Love the setup
Did you install the SPC upper control arms? How did you set them up before the alignments were done? Nice build.
The gun metal would look way more dope
Black looks great. Surprised you went 295 but they look awesome. How is the rubbing?
Absolutely horrible hahaha.
Are you going to have to recalibrate your speedometer so you’re miles don’t rack up incorrectly? Tune?
I’ll look into it but Idk if it’s much of a difference. I need to gps speed test it too
Looks awesome man. If you do decide on changing the wheels color, maybe try bronze. Thanks for sharing man 🤙
For sure!!!!

It's a prinsu roof rack full length
Yeah it looks great!

Say boss what left did you put on it and where can I buy it
and, no info on rubbing during turns and flex?
Daang, she looks good! That lift and wheel/tire set up is fire 🔥!
Wish I could have brought it out, but it rubs like CRAZY!!!
@@TRDJon Yeah, that probably wouldn't have worked so well on the trails 😆
Where did you get the lift kit ?
I didn't follow your explanation of the ET lug nuts, I don't see how offset would affect thread engagement.

yes

any issues with rubbing??
How many inches is it lift?
doesn’t look like you had to do any trimming! Any contact points when turning the wheels?? Awesome rig, about to put 285s on my v8
Just a little trimming at the bottom of the stock bumper
V8 4th gen is the best 4Runner made period. The v6 has plenty of power also but the v8 is know to go 500k miles.
Good luck 👍
