You have to understand that Donald Trump is a cheapskate. He bought fast food for the Clemson Tigers football team. He cheated contractors, employees and supply houses out of money. That Mar A Largo bathroom where he was storing the documents probably hasn't been remodeled since he bought the golf course and everything else probably hasn't been either.

That will come. The judge bringing perjury charges over this would be a stretch though since it's impossible to prove
Perjury is an actual crime for which you need a lawful sentence. Not just a slap on the wrist and monetary punishment.
The law takes time. Everyone wants this done now, but that's just not how things actually work.

Perjury is hard to prove, and -- you'd actually have to be accused (as in charges filed) for perjury, have a full fledged hearing (if not a trial) w/due process, etc., and honestly, it would be hard to prove *beyond a reasonable doubt* that he wasn't referring to Cohen. Much easier to ratchet up the consequence each time he violates the gag order, and there WILL be a next time. And then a next time after that....and honestly, he'll likely commit a clear cut and more significant act of perjury in the coming months.

Both of those seem 100% reasonable. Violation of them could be a jail sentence, quite justly.

This trial will determine whether Trump pays a significant penalty or is subject to any other punishment, not whether he is guilty or not.

They asked for dismissal because the key witness cohen, perjured himself and admitted that trump never asked for anyone to inflate his numbers.
