Jack Teixeira had his request for pretrial bond denied, despite only facing one of the criminal charges against tRvmp.
He also isn't a millionaire and doesn't have a passport, making him less of a flight risk than tRvmp, as well, but he's on the wrong tier of the justice system, so in jail he stays.
They aren't going to actually punish him, and it's obvious this man will not face any real consequences for his actions or comments he will ultimately be given a slap on the wrist and sent home

I’m expecting Jack Smith to get to the Congressional insurrectionists when he’s done with trump and his indicted co-conspirators. The DOJ got very little in additional resources after J6 and it tripled their workload. They have all their usual work, the J6 rioters are biggest single investigation and series of prosecutions in DOJ history, and they have to prosecute trump, his criminal associates and all the random MAGAts who are threatening and committing violence based on trump’s and other Rethuglican’s lies. They’ve also been slowed by the ongoing obstruction of presidential nominees by 2 Senators, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. The man in charge of the section of the DOJ responsible for the trump prosecutions didn’t get into his offices until January of this year.
Why aren't they talking about him covering up multiple cases of sexual assault on the wrestlers on his team by the university sports doctor for that team. Jordan was assistant coach. There's testimony that he knew & covered it up.

I don't know which option is worse, that Pence somehow believes Jim Jordan has integrity and would be a good speaker, or that he knows he isn't and is just giving a politically expedient response despite having nothing left to gain or lose in politics. The guy is out of office, is currently in like 9th place in the primary, and clearly has no constituency anymore. What could it cost him to say how he really feels about Jim Jordan?
Either he's desperately clinging to any remaining shards of his identity as a Republican, in which case the loss would be psychological... or he's grasping at any chance to ingratiate himself with insurrection-supporters in the vain hope of getting slightly fewer threats of violence, in which case the loss he might be anticipating is bloodloss?
