Nice Tractor, like the digital console, and the modern options. Thanks for the instrument brief, and keep those drinks cold. By the way I am jealous because I always wanted a John Deer.
I have driven a Deutz Fahr 1145 ttv, and WOW that is so easy to drive! But I have never driven any other than a New Holland and the Deutz. So I can't really say anything about the John Deere.
I've driven 3 different tractors, late 60s Ford 4000-series, 95 Ford 8240, and a new Fendt 824 Vario. The Fendt was smooth as butter to drive, but the vintage Ford was so much more fun. No fear for breaking anything and wind in my air, bouncing around through the forrest with a big smile on my face. 4L+4H if I remember it right. Anyways, this JD didn't look any easier to operate than the Fendt, nor more difficult?
I have driven, massey ferguson 135, 35, 5610, john deere 6125r, 5100r, 5125r, 6155r, 6215r, 540 and 3130 6110 mc 6420, 6620, 5820, new holland t6 040, valtra N 106 and a case 95. Even the older John Deere are far better and easier to drive than some of the newer tractors.
have you tried the new power shift for jd. it let's you keep your throttle going full and be able to speed up or slow down and not bog down the tractor
Glad I watched your video! Last harvest season I had to drive a 8r series tractor with that setup, but I remembered how to do it from this video haha! Thanks for this nice video!
Interesting video and thanks for the tutorial. These new tractors absolutely fascinate me. I grew up on the 3010, 3020 and 4020 and the newer tractors look confusing compared to the older models. Miss the work. I suppose one might say I'm living vicariously through you. :) Be safe and best wishes.
they're more like a video game than driving the old tractors where the gear lever actually moves linkages and shifts gears! Like he said, basically you move the little stick up to "forward" and then bump it forward to upshift to a faster gear, or bump it back to downshift to a lower gear... that's it. For reverse you move it sideways and down then left again into the reverse section, bump it back to upshift in reverse and forward to downshift in reverse... the bottom section is neutral, or over to the left is locked in park. Took me a little while to get used to the BIL's old Cases with the three speed powershift over the 4 speed gearbox. Basically you can shift up or down through three powershift speeds in every gear. The newer Deeres like the 4230 are much nicer... the newer yet stuff (like this one) isn't THAT much nicer IMHO just different. Love running the 4230 of the nephews... I'm used to 8 speed manual boxes on my Ford 5000/6000 series tractors... all we ever needed. Later! OL J R :)
new sub. found this browsing the channel...Checked out the JD 4020 video...Oh boy, I got sick with the camera work...lol...Your channel has come far. Looking forward to more new videos.
Rode on the same tractor in the training seat a few weeks ago. The farmer was planting 12 row peanuts with a Max Emerge vacuum planter. It was a great ride and I was very impressed with the guidance system. Sorry but I don't know the name of the guidance system.
I don't know if someone brought this up, however why did they put the engine speed knob so close to the hydraulic shift levers? Never drove a tractor before.
When changing from gear 1 to 2, you press the clutch all the way down then move it into 2? Doesn't pressing the clutch stop the tractor though or is it suppose to be like that? Thanks
hey man I'm new to the channel ! just was gunna ask do you work for some one or do you own the farm yourself, and also asking is that you job ? love the content ! keep it up!
Ive never driven a newer tractor ive only ever driven an i believe is a 1977 White field boss 2-105 with the lever throttle and the actual physical gear shifter. To be frank i believe these newer tractors are more complicated to operate than older ones
+Tj Keegan A disc doesn't cut that deep. The root zone is still compacted. I'm old school, I plow to open the soil up and give a lot of room for the roots.
+hlyautey If you have a disk like my JD 330, you can throw away your moldboard plow... That thing RIPS really deep in the ground. Especially with rear tractor weight chained on top of it and an 8300 pulling it. Hope to upload a video of it soon. For now the only tillage video I have is the 1206 on the Glencoe soil finisher.
i like your videos i like farmers life we used to have a farm in roumania but we had to sold it and move to spain for economical reasons that 8r is so beatiful i think is tghe best looking series from jd
Mate, no one is scrambling your gps signal. The difference is in the fact that what satelite service you pull, how many satelites you can get and what buad rate you can do. And on the RTK all they do is add another position witch is a static one to calculate your movement relative to the static point for a better calculculation of you position.
I came looking for this comment as soon as he said it. It used to be the case, but that was changed in 2000. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Error_analysis_for_the_Global_Positioning_System#Selective_Availability
When I drove a John Deere in 1966 I was locky to have a shade over me, and I tied a water can on the back so I could get a drink when I stopped to grease things!
I'm a huge fan of the throttle also but I've noticed three times now I've dropped my pen on the floor and caught my tshirt sleeve caught it and throttled it all the way up... lol
The thing I don't like is, some models have two handles (for 1,2,3,4 and A,B,C,D). It's ok until you don't have heavy load, after that you have to operate with both between gears.
You NEVER move the gear range lever while moving, EVER. Who ever taught you or told you that is a complete idiot. Quad range is meant to be shifted into range at a complete stop in neutral, then shifted into 1st, and then slapped over to second without the clutch, then clutched and shifted ahead to 3rd, and then repeat the same 1-2 process on 3-4.
+BrettKuntz Thank you. Are we talking about the same/similar models? Here's the thing: example JD 5080M, gear D1 has about 10km/h. We tried to start in D gear and tractor (no attachments) was "jumping" to just move itself from start. We always need to start with at least C3, then C4, after that, change two shifts (while moving) to D and another to 1 (so now you are in D1) and move up (D2, D3, D4) to reach about 40km/h. Even more work is needed when you have a trailer (empty) and even more with full load. Road is asphalt, no slope. It's like you are in a truck, need to shift a lot.
it uses multiple satellites to counter act the interference the atmosphere has on it. It will have a base state that is measuring how much delay is introduced by clouds and such, then that number will be used to to change the results from the GPS that's what makes it more accurate. I don't think the government scrambles up the signals. I mean I have heard of better algorithms that get it to be more accurate, but no malice
+BrettKuntz im not a city boy, i work at a potato farmer and we have milked at home. but all the tractor are with a gas paddle and are stick shifted except for the case cvx 195
Scrambles the GPS signal ?????????????????????????? Errrrrrr nope. Not since 2000 when all 24 GPS satellites became available for commercial users. All GPS guidance systems (from your iPhone to your tractor guidance system) are just a means to receive and use the positioning data available from satellites. Depending on what sort of system you pay for depends on the accuracy all the way up to RTK correction to + or - 2cm.
this was very helpful.I'm 15 years old and eager to drive one of these green beauties. This channel is great also.
Keep dreaming. If none of your family farms, you'll never own one.
i strongly disagree
+Dalton Murry you will own a farm if you do well at school and get on with people
Charles Allis thnaks sir, much appreciated.
Enjoyed the video. Informative.

You do a great job with all your how to operate videos
thats one of the reasons i love John Deere, because its SO easy to operate.x3 :)

Will or have you done a vid on how to drive a manual shifter with foot accellerater
have you tried the new power shift for jd. it let's you keep your throttle going full and be able to speed up or slow down and not bog down the tractor
What is that little switch on the floor beside the wheel lower pedal? looks like an old dimmer switch?
Could you teach how to placing the tractor JD8235R into Auto SCV mode to operate a Laser scraper?
Glad I watched your video! Last harvest season I had to drive a 8r series tractor with that setup, but I remembered how to do it from this video haha! Thanks for this nice video!

sir is 8235R john deere tractor can travel using one battery only? without one...battery?
They have come a long way boy how tractors have changed! Just makes u wonder how all the electrical will last threw the years to come
I don't know if someone brought this up, however why did they put the engine speed knob so close to the hydraulic shift levers? Never drove a tractor before.

No it still carries momentum pressing the brake would make it stop its just that he was going rather slow it stopped :)
No because it's a power shift. You don't even need to use the clutch according to John deere
because it's not a clutch pedal. It throws the transmission into neutral.
Great video as usual.
No foot throttle !? Do you miss it?
I have 5045D.. the left side gear has A,B and R. The R is for reverse but what about A and B?? Please explain
Does that tractor has the swivel seat to where you can spin?
Will you ever put row crop duals in it
I don't know how I got here but it is really interesting. Ty :)
That's really technical I feel bad for all the people down in Texas and okalohoma with the flooding
Nice video and thanks very much for posting it. It seems odd that the tractor has a clutch pedal and doesn't seem to need it?
It does from park to anything else. And gear (reverse and forward) to neutral.
hey man I'm new to the channel ! just was gunna ask do you work for some one or do you own the farm yourself, and also asking is that you job ? love the content ! keep it up!

With multiple passes over the same ground does the weight of the tractor compact the soil?
But a disc cuts the soil back up...
+Tj Keegan A disc doesn't cut that deep. The root zone is still compacted. I'm old school, I plow to open the soil up and give a lot of room for the roots.

+BrettKuntz i pull a 6' disk with an 8N. It don't cut very deep.
+hlyautey Not a heavy disk.
You should consider installing an AH-OO-GA horn. I have one on my JD790 and it really draws attention.
No room for it with all that emissions and electronic shit. Lol
+SmokeStack684 gay
Someone could explain to me why some tractors have the joystick and others use those buttons, like in this video?
say you had a grain cart hooked up what button would be to put the auger out and turn it on
Don't quote me on this but I think to make it swing out hydrolics and to turn it on p.t.o
how you drive in straight line ? it is manual or with the GPS?
I love the farming aspect of life!
Sounds Fantastic 👍
How many arces do you guys farm
Huge fan of your videos. Keep up the good work!
what are the terms for working as adriver in your feilds
i like your videos i like farmers life we used to have a farm in roumania but we had to sold it and move to spain for economical reasons that 8r is so beatiful i think is tghe best looking series from jd

hausaffe power down rpm and shift down a few gears
Good video learned something today thanks
Hi do you have any 6r series?
No. Not yet at least.
I have 6r series, have questions?
+How Farms Work can you do a video on how to start that tractor
When I drove a John Deere in 1966 I was locky to have a shade over me, and I tied a water can on the back so I could get a drink when I stopped to grease things!
nice vid just what I was looking 4.
I like the powershift so much better than the ivt. It might just be me but I feel like you get the most out of powershift than ivt.
+Thomas Cox you dont how to operate an ivt properly then
Thank you for this video... it is very helpful!
This was helpful.
Nice tractor 🤠👍
do u have auto steer
Your new carrea starts here
I'm a huge fan of the throttle also but I've noticed three times now I've dropped my pen on the floor and caught my tshirt sleeve caught it and throttled it all the way up... lol
My only question is where is the receiver and 2630 display?

Does any one know about sitting your tractor test at 16

+Trac Tech then you have transmission problems. Quad range is never shifted that way.
i like your drive teach..
Have you considered buying a bigger disc chisel?
no nitro?
anyone know how much a john deere 50 is worth, I want one
craig zitzmann i would say between 2000-4500
I like your video
helpful thanks alot
not throttle up?
whoa must be very bad, so I used the foot throttle. kkkkkk
beautiful video
If you can use a smart phone you can use the commandarm and greenstar
hey Ryan you should tech Jaimie how to drive the 8235r
Many Thanks you
Where is the foot throttle
It doesn't have one.
How Farms Work what the f&h no foot trottle
+The Pilot Penguin american tractors have no foot throttle or pickup hitches for some reason
thats weird
***** so is it just john deere i know massey has one
Weird. I like having levers. As long as it all works =p
Would be nice if it had a for throttle
Everyhorn on your tractors ether doesn't work or is very quiet strange
They pack up with dust in the diaphragm and get quiet or quit working...
OL J R :)

Where is the gas paddle?
*Facepalm* *cough* city boy *cough*
There isn't one....
+BrettKuntz im not a city boy, i work at a potato farmer and we have milked at home. but all the tractor are with a gas paddle and are stick shifted except for the case cvx 195
