Hey guys, I hope you enjoy today's video! I've had a lot of requests to do a video on how to drive the JD, so here we go! Also, what tractor do you think we're getting this week? Hope everyone is keeping safe! 😎
Hopped in a 8335R today took a bit of learning but got her figured. This is a great video describing how to drive it. I’m used to running a Massey 8530 with a Dyna-VT transmission. Completely different tractors. We still run 3 old Ford TW-10 over here in Alberta.
My father was a farmer, in the late 1950s I remember him driving a Massey Harris 744D with no cab then onto Fordson Majors his last tractor a 1964 County Super 4 in the Early 1970s so your old Fords would of been superb and the John Deere unbelievable to him. Love your Vlogs thank you
The jd8270r is the perfect size tractor for ur caltivating n planting I'd say ud need 260 but the extra 10 is way to go such good tractors n simple to drive aspecaily that ones super easy good video keep up the good work
Great video Nick and interesting in how to drive the 8270R. She is a sweet yoke to have on your farm. There is nothing she can't or won't do. Look forward to seeing your new toy when she comes.
It’s got to be a 155R just to even up green against blue on the farm if not it should be they are brilliant merry Christmas to you, dad & all the family 👍
Hi. Looks on par with the 69 that I drove last, well, simpler I guess. Is this like the newer models when starting with the key, as in turn key to start, let go and she will operate starter until she fires?
Great video like the deere but had issues were I work was all grren and yellow 6930 primiums had 2 both had cylinder head problems and turbo issues both around the same hours now run all case pumas with no issues would like to try the r series so can't judge them happy Xmas to you and your dad all the best for 2021 from Yorkshire
Evening Nick, It was good to talk to your dad the other day in the timber yard, hope i helped him out with some suggestions for the roof, I would guess you"ve bought a 6830/ 6930P?
Great video of the tractor nick, why is there always cones out in your yard? (Left of tractor ) does your dad or you hold a hgv licence? Hope you have a nice Christmas together and new year. Enjoy your new case.
Cones are to stop delivery drivers going on the plainings, we want to get that part of the yard concreted really... nope neither of us have hgv, we have a chap who works for us who does 👍
Happy Christmas 🎄 to you and your family love the video good work love the jd I do work with Mf tractor but now I am with jd now Bit of a giveaway what are you are when my profile picture is the time is a Massey thank
Basically keeps your implement on the back from being rigid, gives it up and down movement which is adjustable. A good example would be when I was chisel ploughing, you don’t want it pulling through the ground too rigid so I set the draft to allow a bit of movement 👍 hope that makes sense
A John Deere tractor.... My dad always drove tractors, when we lived on the farm,a bit bumpy,no suspension, they didn't have those computerized things they do now.🐄🐎🐂
Interesting vid, Nick. What do you use all those gears for? I guess that you need a different range for road and field work, but it still seems like a lot to a non-farmer like me. How does the range divide up? What sort of work would you be doing through the range?
Basically gives you a very slow speed in gear 1 (hardly used that slow haha) right up to top speed in 16th, 1-10 used more in field, and gears 11-16 for road use 👍
We don’t much in the way of traditional ploughing, but general rule is about 6-8kph, but of course depends on ground conditions, I guess that would be gears 5-7 ish at a guess 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks Nick. I take it that the lowest gears are reserved for exceptional jobs maybe something like pulling a lorry out of a ditch? All interesting to this townie! Love your vids, looking forward to the next one😀
Is it a blue one? I mentioned a Ford 8630 or TM 155/65 a couple of weeks ago and got no reply from you? You said that you never replied to the comment someone made?
Hi Paul, I can’t remember that, but like I said I try to respond to most comments, sorry if I didn’t reply... but I won’t give anything away just yet 😉😂😂
Hi Nick thanks for replying - I was just hoping I'd got it right Lol!!!! Looking forward to seeing what it is. Have a great Christmas. Cheers Paul. 👍 ☺
@@NicksFarm Hi Nick, hope you your Dad and the your wife ( the BOSS) and family have a great Christmas, oh yeah and your cousin forgotten his name at the moment please pass on my Xmas wishes. His got a case.

Good video Nick! I had always wondered about the transmission in this tractor! Looking forward to seeing what's arriving on the farm!
Cheers dude 👍

Thanks Matthew, and thanks to your dad too! Merry Christmas 🎄

Great video again very nice tractor is it a new Holland t7 stay safe and happy Christmas 🎄
Hey Nick, do you want to take the wrap challenge? I think you’ll beat funky farmer & ginger moustache 😉
So I guess the fendt 1050 is out of the running then??🤣. Nice walk round on the big girl, always nice to have something modern for a long days work.
Cheers mate, I’m not saying a word 🤫 😂😂
Not on Instagram Nick. I'll guess new Holland or another JD. Look forward to seeing it.
Think you have gone for a McCormick something like an x7 maby 🤔
(And would you ever buy or try a massey out?)
Cheers Andrew, merry Christmas 👍
Hi Nick. Is the Volvo FH a farm truck or just parked at your farm ?
What made you pick a bigger low spec tractor rather than a smaller high spec tractor. Surely it's cheaper to buy a 6r with front pto 50k and that?
Great video Nick, I think it’s a New Holland 155 to keep the old TW company, have a safe n Merry Christmas.
Thanks Denny, lots of guesses, all will be revealed soon 😁
Heyyy awesome 😎 where you from man?
Evening Nick, It was good to talk to your dad the other day in the timber yard, hope i helped him out with some suggestions for the roof, I would guess you"ve bought a 6830/ 6930P?
Yes he did mention he bumped into you, 😁 good guess, all will be revealed soon...

I’m going to quests it’s a newer fastrac.. replacing the sprayer tractor.... or a modern classic... tm150/ jd6930.. for a run around tractor..
Good guesses John ....
I say ur getting that mccormick tractor u was looking at

Y not do on Facebook as well
can you make a video >😁😁😁
Got a question, what does the draft control do?

John deere 6m series
The JD looks good from the outside but you will never beat a CNH / New Holland / Ford Basildon tractor long live the blue tractor
I could be miles out here but ur close to a case dealer and a mccormick dealer
You’ve said it’s not a case so I’m going with mccormick x7
I'd say a New Holland T7 of around the 1.90 or 210 mark??
Good guesses, all will be revealed soon

Why does it not have def ( add blue)

New Holland T6?
John Deere 6930
Has she had any major problems, my grandparents don’t want to get ‘new kit’ as they are worried about reliability and maintenance costs
We had to have a new processor for the computer last year but that’s the only issue we’ve had 🤞
New Holland T7.200 or either T7.210 ;)
Would u ever think bout buying the new 8 serious Massey nick
We don’t have a Massey dealer near us, and I’ve never driven one, but I’m up for giving one a go sometime 👍

Massey Ferguson 6715 S/7715 S
Another good guess
When buying tractors of this sort do you pay monthly? I highly doubt it would be possible to buy a large tractor directly in one payment
it varies from farm to farm but it can be split into 4 payments a year and similar
Who's is the volvo FH?
It’s ours 👍
@@NicksFarm could you show us round it?
mf 7716?
