Thank you! I needed to drive a tractor for the first time, and no one was around to show me the ropes - I was SO happy to find your 3 videos. Thank you a million times. Totally tractorin' now.
I'm trying to teach myself to drive a tractor (with the help of one of our buddies). I was never raised or taught to drive a tractor and really want to start my beef operation without people thinking I cant do what I need to do with the land. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for this video! I just moved to a farm from the city, and was haven't trouble figuring out where to get started with learning to use our tractor. This was very helpful
I just inherited a similar tractor and have never really operated it before. This helped answer a few questions I have and will apply it next time I'm on it.
What a remarkably interesting and simple to understand tutorial. You are an awesome teacher and many other people that make instructable youtubes could certainly learn from you how to do them in an understandable manner!!! I am ready to go try to start and run my tractor!
Less talk, more action. Loved all 3 parts of the video series. Perfect! Would be great if you could upload how to attach and detach mower, tiller or other implements.
what some people don't get right away when learning to drive stick is that you have to release the clutch slooooowly 🙂 and when you break, you just need a tiny pressure on the pedal and then also apply force sloooowly and the car will stop smoothly, those were the two main issues I had when I started
This is why it's baffling a drunk person can do it. SOBER people seem to struggle. People who are as sober as a priest on Sunday will make a lot of mistakes before they can even get it into first gear.
I was thinking "OMGOSH his tractor is so clean!" And lamenting my lack of washing of mine. Then I heard the hours, he's right! It is a baby💚 I don't feel so bad about mine anymore...
I'm looking to buy a bigger tractor (bigger than the one i already have). Came across this make and mode John Deere and was immediately intrigued!! Any issues with this particular make and model? I would certainly like to know if you can spread some advice. Cheers!
I’m not a farmer but thanks for sharing this video in detail & I certainly give you credit & lot of farmers out there to put food our tables thanks 😊 i drove a John Deere tractor once, it was fun that was when I was teenager, good times, so all John Deere tractors are different and don’t have gas, I drove one once and it coming back to me, the one I drove was automatic I think? As I remember the gas was in reverse is true
Its been about 20yrs since I drove a tractor and tomorrow i have to drive one and spread fertilizer in some horse pastures. Thanks for the reboot!! On the 2nd video you set the rpm up for the grass hog but do I need to do this for the spreader as well? Thanks again
So how does a drunk tractor driver able to do the shifting part? It requires more coordination for the weird ways of shifting then actually driving the damn thing. Especially if your new to it AND drunk as your balance is off. It really requires good hand to eye coordination for the shifting part to remember the correct maneuvers each time you do it.
Reason for this is so whether you are in A B or C range 2nd gear and Reverse are all the way to the left, above and below each other respectively. At a constant/consistent RPM your speed going forward in 2nd gear is exactly the same as in reverse going backwards. Shifting is straightforward and quick.
4 years later and this video is still helping people. Thank you for this.
I learned more in 5 minutes than flipping through the manual for an hour. Thank you for making and sharing this video.
Mvg.

Then I heard the hours, he's right! It is a baby💚

Your tutorial is so well done! It's really helped me learn how to operate my new-to-me John Deere 5055. Thank you so much! Diane in Minot, ND.

Does the PTO vary in power or rotation on different tractors?
Very helpful
It looks like you’re using a 5045? How does it do with a round bale(5x6)? I am thinking about a 5103. Great videos. Thank you
that was good, thanks
Very informative - do a video operating it
Thanks man
One request, can you do videos for hitching implements to the tractor? And also, attaching a snow plow to the tractor? Step by step?

The manual (online if you lost it) for the implements will tell you what RPM. I think the standard setting on the tach is almost universal.
My JD 5200 has 2 levers to control the 3 pt. hitch, one long and one short. Please go over the proper way to set these when plowing.

Helps to learn on a good tractor like this one vs an old rusted out piece of garbage you can't read any of of the gears :)
Good video thank you very much, I wish someone makes a video for a 2640 John Deer 1987 I will appreciate it.
I start a new position today! Using a deere tracker with a Busch hog!
Cool
Thanks you
Greg, is this similar to a 750 John Deere? You may it look easy and give me confidence. I don’t know how to use the tractor but need to learn.
Hopefully you have an owners manual or can find a copy on the internet. They're generally the same (even the key is universal!).
My Dad has a similar model to this tractor, except his is a 5055E.
Blee You thank you very much
Have you ever drove a RX John deere tractors just wondering
Check the Hinomoto HM255 with yanmar engine, a great tractor 2022
THATS THE TRACTOR I HAVE
my john deere is a manual
Is so weird for me at least to see 1st gear on the right bottom corner of the h pattern where 4th usually is
Oh wait the sticker is backwards

Its not that easy for new people that have never drove a RX before
I can driving a
