I just watched the video you posted on how to drive a tractor 9 years ago. It's really cool seeing how far you have come along and how comfortable you are now with making these videos. Keep up the amazing work.
Pat Kelly lol they 1000s of dealers and 100s of videos. Why would they need Ryan? Ryan panders to the non farming idiots who subscribe to his channel. If somebody is getting in an 8r dear got I hope someone is with them to verify they actually know how to drive a tractor. What's next? How to drive a semi via UA-cam? Lmao
Andy Hass Irrelevant to Ryan, but have you every talked to a sales person? 99% of the time they don't know anything about the machines they are selling.
thank you for all the vids buddy. im starting my new job today and im only confident cuz of what ive learned from you. thank you doesnt come close. your the man
"I could spend an hour going through the monitor, explaining all the things it does." Isn't it amazing how modern technology simplifies things in our lives?
Run a 7930 IVT on the cart every year. It's much easier than using powershift as you can make small adjustments with that wheel on the shift lever. Pretty smooth rider. Great video!
Great video. Would love to see a video explaining the different uses for all the tire set-ups, like why double tires front and rear, why narrow vs. wide, and what's up with the weights both on the front and in the tires? Just a curious paper pusher here, sitting in a high-rise in Philly. But love the videos!
I am a new viewer today---Mid-December '17. Do you have a video explaining why you're selling everything? An old Michigan farm boy here...takes me back. Thanks the memories. I can smell that fresh turned soil.
Couple questions when I’m full auto and I go to use the pto do I use the orange lever and put it all the way down to start? And I have a voyager camera can that hookup to the camera on the deere monitor ?
I was wondering about how many hours your tractors and combine have on them. I know this is like asking how many acres you farm but if you could, with in 500 hrs. Thanks Great videos
What does SCV and VT stand for? EDIT: found out its Selective Control Valve that is often found on a function multiplier to get more hydraulic functions from a tractor. Still dunno what VT is, but seems to be interchangeable with implement?
IMO, duals offer better floatation, more ground contact, and better traction. I've used a tractor with super singles and it feels like it has much higher slippage than the ones with duals. I feel like you'd get stuck a lot easier with singles as well.
Transmission, very similar. New Holland's transmission lever had many useful functions built right in, which we honestly feel like it's way ahead of John Deere's design in that aspect as far as ergonomics go. If you can drive CVT or IVT, you can drive the other since they're very identical. I haven't been in a T8 which would be comparable to an 8R, but I think John Deere has the visibility aspect down, since the visibility in the 8R tractors is fantastic.
How Farms Work Thanks for the input. Am looking at upgrading tractors in the future, so seeing what other people's thoughts are helps, but still need to look at the challengers more yet. JDs have the best cabs hands down... spacious and good visibility.
It would be cool to see you demo a Massey/Challenger cvt and hear your thoughts we have a Massey and love the cvt but haven't tried any other brands Are there any Agco dealers near you that might let you try one out
we never had any problems with ivt transmissions from John deere. as a matter of fact, we still have a 2001 John Deere 7810 thats equipped with an ivt transmission and that has 8500 hours
Had to laugh at the lil pedal to tilt the wheel-- the BIL's 2290, 2390, and 4890 J.I. Case tractors from the 80's all had that way back then... Deere finally caught up I guess LOL:) Must've got the horns as surplus from the VW Beetle factory LOL:) I think they deleted the foot throttles because the engine should be run at a more constant speed rather than revving up and down all the time. Pollution controlled engines generally produce lowest emissions when run at a constant speed. That said, some tractors just never came with them, like my brother-in-laws Case tractors... My Ford tractors have them, on the 2310 and the two 5610S tractors, but the old 6600 and 5200 row crop didn't. I think the Case tractors weren't meant to be throttled up and down that much, even though they had a mechanical injection pump. That's another thing too-- with computerized engine controls, having a foot throttle would mean another expensive "solid state" "glob of goo with wires coming out" with a foot pedal attached-- something else to go wrong. Not like the older mechanically injected tractors that the foot pedal just worked a cable or lever and rod to the injection pump... The electronic "gee whiz" stuff is nice, until it goes wrong... My brother works for the county drainage district-- he FINALLY got a new cab Deere tractor instead of the old open station he was running... they mounted the slope mower on it and off he went. Worked great for a couple months, then this problem or that problem-- some electronic gremlin here or there, can't rev up the engine or it goes into "limp home" mode or whatever because of the emissions stuff... The stupid thing has SIX computers on it, and when anything goes wonky in any one of them, the machine ends up at Deere for a week. Not my idea of "reliability". Personally I'll take "old, simple, and reliable" over "shiny new electronic bells-n-whistles" any day of the week and twice on Sunday... Later! OL J R :)
My family has an '04 7520 with IVT, don't think I could really get used to the e23, even after getting used to all the high tech stuff in the new models. Also, ours has the same tiny little horn as well.
Having driven a combine with the joystick, I would guess that the joystick throttle is for when you need to be able to constantly adjust speed. If you have the buttons, you're probably just setting a speed and sticking with it for the most part.
But man, I'm sure you need all that computer stuff for massive fields, but sheesh, seems like more stuff to worry about breaking down and trying to fix!
Hi I love your videos they are so cool and fun .... GOOD JOB !!! And #HowFarmsWork and good job for doing this videos for us and you are so cool an fun ;)
Nice Vid, however there is/are way too many Acronyms being used... Lost me at Vbt or whatever that ment... (As a retired Airline pilot, there are a million Acronyms that WE use in everyday aviation conversation that would absolutely boggle the non-flying public's brain...) The only question I have is: I'd the cabin pressurised to keep out the dust/dirt stirred up...? I kinda suspect you do have heat and air, but I'm hoping you're pressurised as well...!
The key here was "IVT" or Infinitely Variable Transmission (also called CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission) is a mechanism that allows the transmission to adjust the ratio between input and output in minute or truely infinite steps. This means you can set the engine to 1400rpm and then use the transmission to adjust the output speed and thereby the speed of the tractor. The advantage is that if you're pulling a light or no load, you don't want to be running with high RPM because it's fuel hungry. With ICT you set a lower speed on the engine and a ratio that gives you the desired speed. This tractor can adjust the two at the same time using the computer so the speed remains constant but applied more engine power/RPM when needed to get you up hills.
Just so your aware a tractor having DEF isn't a designation that it's tier 4. All the actors are tier 4 from about 2013 weather they have DEF or not. Equipment 26hp-75hp has after treatment but no DEF. Any equipment over 75 hp has both after treatment and DEF. Under 26hp tractors have neither but they are all still tier 4 tractors.
Patrick Mcmanus none of them are hard to drive!! My 5 yr old nephew knows how to drive a cvt. That is my point... u select a speed and the computers do the rest. Just like driving an automatic car!
Patrick Mcmanus omg the Deere isn't anymore complicated than any other tractor! I have driven them all over the last 20 yrs. Have u actually driven a deere?! Or just watch utube? I hate Deere in general but they r easy to drive. Ryan is just explaining all the features and adjustments. Your new holland has similar features and adjustments. If u chose to just get in and push the lever forward and don't care how it's setup that is your choice. I think that is ignorant but that's up to u...
All that stuff is fine and dandy until you start having problems with it, then it will cost you a fortune at the dealer. I would rather have something simple I could repair myself 👍
Brad Ducharme r u 12? Def has been used in Europe for 25yrs and USA for 10. It cleans the emissions in the exhaust vs engine SO the engine can have higher power levels. Just because jd is too stupid to make a def system that works is another issue. We have had def on our case ih equipment for 6 yrs and love it! We got 15% better fuel economy and 10% more power when we switched to tractors with def. Get some real life experience before spouting off like a turd.
jburling81 I didn't say it did dipshit! I said since the nox emissions r cleaned in the exhaust that means the engine doesn't have to. So the engine runs cooler and can have the power raised. More power equals more emissions dipshit. The engine can't have the higher power and meet emissions. That's why they added scr dipshit. It's called engineering. When u have a masters in engineering and have designed diesels for 20 yrs come back and we can chat! Until then your daddy is calling
jburling81 same reason why the 1st trucks that got dpf in 07 were faster that the previous trucks with nothing on the exhaust. The dpf caught the pm emissions so the engine could smoke more and spool the turbo faster. Get off your cough and get some real experience. Drive a tier3 Deere and than a tier4. Tier4 produces 80% less emissions but is faster! How can that be? Omg maybe it's engineering?! Or just u tube magic!
jburling81 def is cheaper than diesel for us. Our case equipment gets 15% better fuel economy than Deere so who cares if it uses more def than the Deere. Overall it still uses less fluids. If u didn't live in your mom's safe space u might know that. Oh and the lease on our case ih equipment is 10% lower than what Deere quoted. Money in the bank. Do u know what a lease and bank are? Ask your mommy.
I just watched the video you posted on how to drive a tractor 9 years ago. It's really cool seeing how far you have come along and how comfortable you are now with making these videos. Keep up the amazing work.
“You don’t even have to use the clutch!” Me: omg that’s so handy! Also me: *uses clutch because it’s fun*
Thanks. As a farmer only in my dreams, it is great to see the inner workings and explanations of what things do.
John Deere should hire you Ryan as a demonstrator for their tractors, great video very informative and in lay man terms:)
Pat Kelly lol they 1000s of dealers and 100s of videos. Why would they need Ryan? Ryan panders to the non farming idiots who subscribe to his channel. If somebody is getting in an 8r dear got I hope someone is with them to verify they actually know how to drive a tractor.

@@Pokojni548late to the tread, but I went to commodity classic when I was 10. I knew more about the equipment than the spokespeople for John deere.

"I could spend an hour going through the monitor, explaining all the things it does." Isn't it amazing how modern technology simplifies things in our lives?
I like this IVT for grain cart
You do a great job with all these how to run something videos
Thank you so much for switching the camera. Awesome video! Have a great day and a Merry Christmas! Bless you!
Run a 7930 IVT on the cart every year. It's much easier than using powershift as you can make small adjustments with that wheel on the shift lever. Pretty smooth rider. Great video!
Great vid on the IVT.. Haven't had the opportunity to run one yet. Beats the heck out of a hand clutch 70.
Thanks for this video!! Now I can put experienced tractor operator on my resume.
Nice job. Almost sounded like a promo video haha. Seriously though you did a great job as an intro to how to operate it.
Thank you Ryan for this video...This clip is more infomative than any other videos in youtube....good job man....✌️😀
Great video. Would love to see a video explaining the different uses for all the tire set-ups, like why double tires front and rear, why narrow vs. wide, and what's up with the weights both on the front and in the tires? We run ivt on an 8130 and love it. Haven’t had any issues with it at all
I am a new viewer today---Mid-December '17. Do you have a video explaining why you're selling everything? An old Michigan farm boy here...takes me back. Thanks the memories. I can smell that fresh turned soil.
My grandfather's estate sale was in 2014 after his death so most of his equipment went for sale as the land passed down to my parents.
Thanks for the information ryan very good video have good day
I am watching your video while I'm sitting on 8345r , nice video lemmenes custom farms here
Love your videos man, keep up the good work.
Will you do a how to operate with the 7600?
Interesting... Thanks for sharing Ryan...
I've never understood why they don't put better horns on newer tractors
Nobody ever uses the horns.
Couple questions when I’m full auto and I go to use the pto do I use the orange lever and put it all the way down to start? And I have a voyager camera can that hookup to the camera on the deere monitor ?
Merry Christmas
We got a 8340r but looks realy different also realy nice video
I am glad you can drive that tractor i don't need drive any thing that complicated 4020 good enough for me
I was wondering about how many hours your tractors and combine have on them. I know this is like asking how many acres you farm but if you could, with in 500 hrs. Thanks Great videos
BOY I AM OUT OF DATE WE DID NOT HAVE THAT WHEN I WAS FARMING!!!!!!
thoughts on case/newhollands monitor in their cvx/autocommand tractors (T7/Puma CVX)?
What does SCV and VT stand for? EDIT: found out its Selective Control Valve that is often found on a function multiplier to get more hydraulic functions from a tractor. Still dunno what VT is, but seems to be interchangeable with implement?
What does IVT stand for ?
What does the 8370R that your 8235R does nt have?
What is the all tyre size of the tractor
In the video description, you should link the website of the dealer who hooked you up with this.
Hey man, I got a question. Why do you use double tires instead of wide ones?
IMO, duals offer better floatation, more ground contact, and better traction. I've used a tractor with super singles and it feels like it has much higher slippage than the ones with duals. I feel like you'd get stuck a lot easier with singles as well.
It has some perks, like being cheaper if a tire blows
I’ll stick to our 4840😂
Same! Way to much information for me my dad can keep planting with our 8R
How does it compare to Big Blue from last year as in the transmission and ease of use? Kinda curious what your thoughts are.
Transmission, very similar. New Holland's transmission lever had many useful functions built right in, which we honestly feel like it's way ahead of John Deere's design in that aspect as far as ergonomics go. I'm curious if VT tools would be more effective if there was a mechanism to knock down the stalks ahead of the first row of disks.
Good job explaining.
Love the info thanks Ryan
Ryan do you know a Brett otto-sthal
Oh man! I wish my tractor was that adjustable! I can barely reach the gas pedal and brakes from the seat!
Good info if you need it!!

Question is how do AFFORD this tracter
I think that was therealfarmgirl you mentioned. Yeah, she just all of a sudden quit making the videos, but they were pretty good.
Love how you’re listening to rockabye
I love the vids
There is a screen that shows the position of the satellites.
Did you buy this tractor?
TheEquipmentking no just demoed it
Goodness that thing looks complicated compared to our 4440, 4250, 4230 and all the rest of our tractors as well
The newest tractor I’ve ever been in was an 8295r that our neighbors own but I’m more used to running tractors from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s
Someone could explain to me why some tractors have the joystick and others use those buttons, like in this video?

Neutral switch looks like a giant orange thumb with black nail LOL
Do a how to drive the 7600
Lucas Makk he does do one
Jeremy Smith that was the 7400
Lucas Makk that's right sorry
Are we going to have to pay to watch youtube soon?
Nope, but the ads encourage creators to improve their content and provide an incentive to consistently post videos.
Oh ok, Thank You. Love Your Channel! Merry Christmas to You and Your Family. God Bless
1:20 i did the same the first time to
"That's just cute" lol
Hi I love your videos they are so cool and fun .... GOOD JOB !!! And #HowFarmsWork and good job for doing this videos for us and you are so cool an fun ;)
I have actually met the guy who first invented the green star for the top of the cab for the John Deere’s
Hey Ryan is this tractor back at Sloan Implement or did u buy it
RMH & Son Landscaping it’s back at the dealer, but he made this video awhile ago, it’s just taken time to edit it
Excellent
It’s funny because I love John deer but my dad works at a case dealership
Gavin Boxum well at least your dad is smart.
I think your dad is the man of the house
Hi guys, why don’t you roll/crush the corn before you feed it to the cattle.

you should buy a challenger mt765c
I have driven a 8295R
Where's Jamie?
Work
Earning her "keep" is she?
I voted TRUMP (everyone has to earn their keep)
Jamie Procarione It would be nice to see you more, but I do understand your reasons. Maybe more of you on your channel?
Can you help me
The clutch on an ivt is not to be touched

Most cars have louder horns.
Must have a weird banker
Woow amazing
Like

I'd much rather drive my 1975 jd 4230. It'll pull any equipment you' have and much less complicated.
I want to drive 1 big john deere tractor
My 5115R horn is louder than that horn
I am trector opretar need a job
TTRR
Give me tractors,please
You should get a case next
Never! (He should get a Ford)
Dinky horn
I’m not a fan of John Deere, either.
you guys are spoiled
