    I've been on VFR800s since 2007. Loved it. Switched to the 2019 GT last fall. Bigger engine, much lighter bike, oodles of features, and picked up almost 60hp more. It is a beast alright but I've put about 5k touring on both country and freeway roads. Touring is great. The heat is definitely coming off the bike. Very noticeable when temps increase to 80s, but otherwise, no complaints. I did change the windscreen to something little taller and tinted. So far, its awesome. Oh, and the TFT may have been suffering with overcast sky and/or shadows. Mine did that a little at first and they downloaded some patch and hasn't been back. PS - Enjoy the channel. Keep up the nice work

    Hi Richy, I've had mine for 15months now and have done the NC500, a trip to the Picos and Portugal then back through France plus many other day / weekend trips. Only one thing to say about this bike - FANTASTIC.

    Just binge watched the entire US series, great. Love to join in with some Wildbad expeditions. I am a solo Crosstourer rider (still a VFR!), retired so time on my hands. Only problem is I live near Heathrow. Can't wait to get back on the continent, soon I hope. Happy travels.

    I've had my ktm gt for about 9 months now. No issues whatsoever reliability wise after 2k miles (winter + lock down), easily, hands down, without even thinking about it the best bike i have ever owned - and i've had quite a few! its a docile thumping commuter on the way to work with a nice sit up feel - with enough noise and road pressence to be noticed in traffic (more so with the akra end can) or you can be a tucked in apex locked in guided missile when you want to play. It really is a stunning all round bike and i can't even begin to think there is a better bike out there to tick all boxes.

    Hi Richy, great video again. Regarding the "Q" on the speed limit signs, it started some time ago and for some reason has been taking off recently. It's to do with them being "unreadable" and people think that you can't be prosecuted for speeding because the sign was unreadable....... Nice try........
    Just finished watching the Wild Atlantic Way videos. Brilliant. I've got to get out there soon.
    Cheers, Dave C.

    I've had mine a year now. I love it but if you want some negatives, the seat is uncomfortable. The phone holder needs a lifter to retrieve the phone and when the sun is going down there seems to be a period where the headlight doesn't work. When it's dark the headlight shines bright but in that not that dark part of sun set they are useless. I'm booked for brands hatch 27th july if you want to see how good they are on track 👍

    On a cloudy day like that it’s just normal that the dashboard turn on and off from day time to night time as the natural light is not always clear enough! Wet sensitive machine. She’s a sensitive beast!
    Everything is top level on every beat on every piece of construction care, superb design everywhere. Man, my opinion is suspicious, I simply became in love with this machine, day by day, I’ve been enjoying it more and more. And the tyres, there are critics of it but I find them a very well balanced compromise between grip and durability. That why I also find the Pirelli Angel GT’s an excellent choice to bem mounted on this bike! 🙌Nice vídeo . Thank you 🙏🏼

    Had the first version. Same engine but a bit much to ride. Very high gearing. Hardly got to use 6th as impossible to stay in speed restrictions. Cruise control on the right so I had to use left hand to turn it on. Not happy with it so sold. Sounds like they have now made it more rideable. Good vid cheers mate

    Had mine 3 years- love it does it all - toured on it with the wife but with full luggage and a pillion it can be a bit top heavy - showed at the tt trying to do 3 point turns on steep hills as it’s a long way down and a heavy bike. had to put a back box on as the wife couldn’t hold on 😳got mine 5 grand off so got all the extras. Hell of a bike - best bike I’ve had in 40 years- cruise tour pootle go mental does it all easily. Get one!!!!!

    Great video Rich, thank you. 😀
    As a fan of you guys on the UK vlogging scene and a lifelong want-to-be-biker, I am curious. After you all get over that heady feeling of outright beastlyness of the power with the bike, is this and the likes of the Ducati V4S a case for having too much power and therefore, a license risking bike? Could you really live with it over your current bikes?
    I hope to be able to scrimp and save a few pennies to try and go for my CBT and then full license next year for my 50th, (mother begged me never to ride a bike, but am thinking/hoping at 50 she might relax a little) and I love the idea of the 100bhp tourers like the Honda VFR800X Crossrunner (loved your review of it against the 1200 Crosstourer), or maybve the Ducati 950 multistrada. These beasts just look like a license risk too far, or for the likes of myself an accident prescription ready for collection. Hahahaaa.
    Really interested to hear everyones views on the subject. Thank you again.

    • @RichyVida
      @RichyVida  4 роки тому +1

      I didn't actually reach my destination, as only wanted to test it's functionality. I wanted to cancel / end navigation while on the move, through the screen, but couldn't seem to do it. I had to pull up and cancel on my phone. Is it possible to cancel through the switchgear?

    • @tonyd7675

      Short answer is no, all you can do on the bars is to turn navigation off in The My Ride app which stops display on dash,but navigation continues on mobile .

  • @simonrobinson7536
    @simonrobinson7536 4 роки тому

    Now this was the bike I thought you would be on last week not the Africa twin, now your talking I knew you would like the GT. I’ve got he 2017 model basically the same engine but not the fancy dash. You can ride it sedately but you have power on tap when needed, and yes the engine does chuck some heat out. Think they must of changed the gearing because mine needs to be doing 85+ in sixth to be smooth 70 on the slab needs 5th. Enjoy the experience it’s addictive. 👍

  • @markherring7523
    @markherring7523 2 роки тому

    Far better than the 2018 version, I’ve had both and still got the 2021 version smoother and more refined around town, braking in corners is fantastic, seat a bit hard is the only fault, power is strong above 4 thousand 6 gear forget below 90 mph, around town 2 nd gear is all you need. And yes you can set the left hand toggle switch to straight into heated handle bars easily via the favourite setting

    Hi Richie how you doing mate, I knew you would live this bike.iv got the very same bike but in the black and orange.i love it. The only thing I’m not keen on is the my ride app. It’s ok when used on its own , but soon as you start hooking other things up to it ie your phone satnav ext it tends to go tits up. It’s like a bully app and needs to be in control of every other device even when you don’t want it to be.im sure you will discover this for yourself over the next to weeks.in the end I just disconnected the app and used my phone as per normal

    Cool bike just not for my 62 YO body. I’m just wondering about the Reliability is it with the motor/ parts or Electrical ?.. The Motorcycle Dealer I go to sells them along with the 4 Japanese brands. I’ve always noticed that the repair Shop usually always has more KTM being worked on than all the others . I’ve never owned or Ridden a KTM so I don’t know from experience about them .. They do seem to be High tech. &&&&& High Price.
