  • We review the stunning KTM Super Duke 1290 GT V-twin. It has the performance of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R and melds it with the comfort and equipment needed for all-day riding, but intensified with additional enhancements, refinements and features.
This one has the amazing Akrapovič exhaust fitted and it sound great! It has an amazing rumble on hard deceleration!
We look at the performance, acceleration, braking, fuel economy, styling, comfort and size, so you can see if it fits you!
The bike is so advanced that we recommend that you look on KTM's website to read all the tech spec and features, otherwise the video will go on for hours!
The Ol' Man, normally a cruiser rider, gives you his opinion about the naked super sport hyper naked crazy mental motorbike - get the gist?

Thanks for great review! One question; is the riding position much different from the R? I own a 2020 SDR and having lots of issues with my neck. Is the riding position much more straight up or close to similar??

I took a test ride on the GT today.Overall i was dissapointed. The bike is smaller than i thought it would be,vibration all through the gears, difficult to find neutral

Im close to trading in my Thunderbird Storm and K1300S for one of these babies. 2 bikes can be a bit much but i dont want to lose the sport side or touring side. Im close on this.... S1000XR kinda still has my attention though but this thing sounds like a beast and I love grunt sounds. hmmmm

Just came across your channel, very refreshing delivery of a review which I very much enjoyed, looking forward to watching a few more. I have had a GT for about a year now absolutly love the engine is just so good for me, for the past 10 years been riding a Victory HammerS which is the longest I've ever owned a bike but completly different from the KTM but there you go ! still have it, plan was to sell it but just couldnt give the bike and being able to ride a cruiser now and then :)

Liked and subbed! Simply because I think you guys are local to me judging by all the locations you film at.

Ok so I am from the 70s onwards for bikes. I can't get past the looks - awful, ugly and in discordant colours. It is what a bike looks like after a crash. For me it's rap music...lol.

nice review, bought one of these this season & loving it so far. don't know if I could go back to a 4pot screamer after this engine.. the instant response and relatively flat torque curve make it an absolute destroyer..I can only imagine it's what a Tesla feels like in 'ludicrouse' mode 🤘😝 the electronics are great too, keeping you safe without you even knowing they're intervening, yes, you can't flat out wheelie for example, but I've had the front up plenty over crests etc and the bike just let's you ride out out, no panic stations & fuel cuts to get the nose down.. that's a shout out to Bosch though I guess.

I just watched this again. I really like this bike! If I didn't have the Trophy I would be riding either this or the Yamaha FJR. I love the BMW RT also but it's too expensive in it's current configuration, let alone what it will be when the 2021's roll out. To get the Duke GT I would have to get rid of one and I can't do it! The Vision, of course, goes nowhere! The Trophy SE doesn't have the punch of the Duke GT but it's so luxurious and velvety smooth I just can't give it up! Plus it's got everything. And if I'm honest, at 60 maybe it's the more appropriate bike. Never say never though! I may end up on a Duke GT yet.

This is an example of perfect motorcycle design. Luckily , I'm in Alberta and can ride my 2020 1290GT for long stretches without any population related issues. It is clear, clean cruising on an exceptionally high powered comfort machine from Calgary to Vancouver that is nothing short of pure heaven. Thank god for the Rocky Mountains, fresh air, and a machine that can propel me from here to the coast in one day in pure ecstasy. Excellent review, BTW and !00% spot on.
