I just went to Roll Play's website, made service ticket and they sent all the "replacement parts" for free (motor, drive wheel and gearbox). Now my son has More Power!! (Tim Allen eat your heart out. lol)
Thank you! I was looking for this
Thanks for the original video showing how to make it remote control, and this one! Genius. I have had fun doing this conversion.
Peter Nash Glad I could help.
YOU MAKE IT TOO EASY THANKS
thanks just did this to my sons.
My daughter just got the jeep one, scalping the motor off her old atv for this, slapped right in, was going to run the two batteries in series but I'll try the one like you first
Wired up, running. Is there a potential of drawing to much from the single 6 volt?
ill try this i got a frozen 6v with a m12 milwaukee battery and if it still not fast enuff ill be using a dewalt 20v,
terminals do melt under hard use
THANK YOU NOW I CAN GO ON GRASS
Is the gearbox ($14.99) all you need, or do you need to order the Rear Wheel Orientation Sleeve as well? Also, do you have a video of it after, as far as going up hill? Thanks so much.
I used the sleeve that's on the wheel now
I added a second motor as described in my kiddo's Rollplay Jeep- thanks for the tips! However, now it shuts off when trying to go up hill. Seems like an over current fuse in the battery? You can hear a relay click back on after a few seconds. Have you had to deal with this when adding a second motor?
Thermal fuse. Change to 30 or 40 amp
@@VintageSpeedwerks is that the black module inline with the battery cable? Can I just open it up and put a different fuse in?
I’d also like to know where to get a different thermal fuse. Also if it is the black box on the power wire coming from the battery.
@@jasonarms6348 just use a 30 or 40 amp auto fuse, or thermal breaker.
@@jasonarms6348 the positive side, whatever is not black.
Late but I seen 24v motor on amazon by the same company my kids huff ride on brand but idk if the gearbox is upgraded I’m doing a 18v swap so the motor should be ok but idk about the gear box how reliable is the brand u recommend?
Should be ok, just matching the gearboxes is important so both go same speed
Is there must difference in power or is it just better going up hill ?
More even distribution of power, essential for grass, dirt etc.
hi can i ask you is it possible to put a remote control perant control at the min its a 6volt hope you can help thank you
Look my other videos
@@VintageSpeedwerks thank you for your help
How come your motors are up there. My motors are below the car?
There are a few different variations.
Will this work if I also upgrade from 6 volts to 12 volts
You'll need the same stuff, but the 12v versions
@@VintageSpeedwerks so will it burn out the two 6 volt motors? So if i uprage to 12 volts I should also buy two 12 v motors?
@@ramones53rd3rd motors will be OK.
@@ramones53rd3rd but control board will burn. If you don't care about the sounds you can remove it and wire direct
@@VintageSpeedwerks mines been running for a few months now with no issue with the control board ;) running the 6 volt motor with a 12 volt battery
I am late, but i added a second motor. Now the second motor and lights will not work but the original motor is still turning?
Hooked up correctly?
@@VintageSpeedwerks can you advise me how to wire?
@@chefkholla 1:30
@@VintageSpeedwerks sorry for being so slow on this. I know the original motor only has 1 wire on each terminal. I see that the second motor has two wires on each terminal. What are those wires? My second motor only came with the same single wires attached. Thank you for the help
No problem man, the other wires have to be there to power the lights. Lights are only on when pedal is pushed.
Does the second motor make it harder to turn?
Only in very slippery grass.
@Vintage Speedwerks I was wondering more about pavement. Kinda like a drag car with a welded diff.
@@BlGDlK makes sense, but my daughter didn't have trouble. Most bigger power wheels are 2wd too.
