Just tested 20lb weight. Drives fine. If at a stop steering of course is a bit slow,

I did this the lazy way with a free rc car and free power wheels a few years back, but I got lazy and it was just rc rear wheels and had a long bar to the side so my baby could ride it while I walk next to her

Did you have this at BBB this weekend? I seen some guy driving a little girl around with a go pro on it. The minute I seen it, I knew I had to do it to my Grand Daughters bus.

how has the esc held up? I used a hobby king ESC and it overloaded the amperage and it cut out. I kept having to reset it (turn it off and back on). I ended up replacing it with a Super Rooster by Novak and have had no problems. I also used a Hitec 1/4 scale servo for steering. I installed the on off switch above the license plate. My son loves it and he has been the hit of every car show we've been to! Nice video!

How come nobody does it the "cheap-cheap way" by just connecting a rc servo to power the polarity on a larger motor, honestly if you were dedicated enough, you could get all the supplies to make a complete working remote control power wheels free, people always throw away cheap rc cars and power wheels the only other thing you'll need is a slightly larger motor to power steering and then to wire it correctly-oh yeah and you'll need power wheel style batteries-people always throw these away also (if you really want something cool you could use scooter/old laptop batteries) they use 18650 batteries and you could power the servos with two 18650's and power the rear and front motors with a larger stack of 18650's and use scooter motors to power the front and rear movement. (People throw these scooters away too, also they throw away working power steering motors) then the whole system is rechargeable and you only need 2 sets of rechargeable batteries on the car and a 3rd on the controller. But you could also wire in a hookup for the batteries so you don't have to remove anything to charge

Awesome "How To" Is there any programming you have to do with the RC stuff to get it to work? I want to do this for my daugther and ordered the parts. Can you let me know what else needs to be done to get it to work? Thank you very Much!!

dollar bills......yes a faster one would be better, but this one not needing a motor controller and small enough to bolt in, and the speed this drives at, perfect combo in my opinion. if you put a bigger motor and go 12v, you'll need a faster one, but now your talking $150+ just for steering.

I know it's been awhile... but I wanted to ask you about the steering servo. I got the L16-100-35-6-R L16-R Miniature Linear Servo for RC - 100mm - 35:1 - 6 vdc from Actuonix... which I think is the one you used. I used a flathead screw driver and loosed up the steering mech. (pop rivets with plastic washers, maybe) a little since it was stiff. I also disconnected the steering wheel since it seemed like it was needing more force when connected. What are you thoughts? It seems significantly slower and worse (less good?) at re-centering than yours.
I have a second motor on the way. I'm excited to have a 2WD R/C Bus for my daughter that's due in April. Thanks for all the information in your videos!
