    I never take the time to comment but this was put together very well, and very specific, more than any other mock check rides I watched. The nit picky questions is what sets the tone in a a check ride, if you know the little details you know your stuff.. thanks for the video

    Despite what the comments say, you guys did a great job. I passed my private by watching your private checkride video.
    If I had to make a comment, include as much information and real questions in these videos that you can so that I can know what to expect.

      Thanks! When we make these we sit down with the ACS and make sure every task is covered with real questions we have been asked on our checkrides and in discussions with DPEs. Our goal is to produce a look into a checkride that is as true to life as possible.
      These videos are true to the types of checkrides we have had but may differ in certain areas due to different DPEs.
      Congratulations on your pilot certificate!

    This student showed a lot of heart. He seems only 75% knowledgable but he still gave it his best shot

    I honestly do not feel his performance warranted a discontinuance. Nobody watching this video at his level of training and actually sitting with an examiner and being grilled for 2 hours would have performed better.

    • @SafetyPilotOfficial
      @SafetyPilotOfficial  8 місяців тому +8

      Caleb, the DPE, just has high standards:).
      It came down to Andrew, the applicant, being stubborn on his misunderstanding of high and low pressure systems and then his confident yet incorrect assertions on use of WAAS nav equipment.
      A better action would have been to express uncertainty and to look up the answer in an approved source and show the DPE.
      We know from the ACS that an applicant must consistently meet the standards. What exactly that means and if Andrew's performance meets that criteria will always be up to the DPE. Try as we may it is not possible to remove the human element from the assessment process.

      Speaking as a ii watching this for his students he did deserve to discontinue. Too many areas with minimal knowledge..... argue with the examiner on wx, waas raim, etc

    • @rogerwilco1910
      @rogerwilco1910 5 місяців тому +2

      To not understand the difference between high and low pressure on such a basic level should definitely be discontinued
      Not to mention how much the examiner tried to help him see his mistake he didn’t get it

    The disapproval was a bunch of horse shit. Please don’t ever think about becoming an actual DPE. He had some issues, but overall he did fine, and would be a safe enough pilot to fly in IMC and under IFR.

      I feel like he really dug himself into a hole with weather, specifically high pressure low pressure. The “DPE” gave him several opportunities to fix it and he literally said “I’d still argue that I’m right” at some point. GPS waas and raim and cross country were a little shaky as well. That’s my personal opinion though. I’m working on my instrument rating at a part 141 and I’ve unsat things for less lol
      Nonetheless this was very helpful and i appreciate you guys for doing this!
