Ray Blk is a British Nigerian artist and gives us a rare insider perspective into the music industry. Ray Blk is a 25-year-old South Londoner who was born in Lagos. She obtained a degree in English Literature, and decided to pursue music full time. So far, Ray BLK has released a mixtape, won the BBC Sound List, performed at major festivals around Europe, and toured America with Emeli Sande. She has also released a coming-of-age album entitled Empress. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
