Today is the last day of my 50’s. Wake up tomorrow and I’ll have reached 60 years of age. Supertramp and their fantastic and timeless music has been playing in my head and on the radio since I can remember, and my spirit continues to soar when I hear songs from them, like it always has. Hundreds and hundreds of years from now, I believe folks will still be enjoying songs from bands like Supertramp, and spirits will soar to the heavens, like they always have, for it’s there that such musical magic takes us, and we are allowed a glimpse of the eternity that awaits us, if we only believe in…
Belated happy birthday. I had my 60th in June. My older brothers were fans of Supertramp, Tull, Floyd, Yes, Genesis, ELP etc. So, I grew up listening to fantastic music like this track.
Actually no Don't envy us because we lived in the best of times and the best of music and now we're enduring the worst of it having seen it slowly die throughout the years. It really is torture and sometimes I don't feel like hanging around any more because there's no point any more w music being dead.
We didn't know what a great decade of music we were living in at the time, but now since we have come to this period of time we can look back now and enjoy it even better.
I hope you're still dreaming. I grew up 90s/early 2000s, but listening to oldies radio all the time in car with dad, and I think and behave far differently than the average folks of my age-group. What trips me out, is growing up I thought everyone knew these songs, how wrong/blessed I was😎
There isn’t enough Wurlitzler used in music nowadays! Love Supertramp and am so grateful that my dad was such a huge Supertramp fan. I’ve loved their music since I was a little tiny kid.
It's 2024. I was born in 1963, so my formative years were in the 70s. And I'm just now relistening to all the hits from Supertramp, and with my 'better ear' for music, well...while I always liked their music, I'm now struck by just how incredibly talented they were. What a body of work!!
People used to laugh my friends when they asked me who your favorite band was back in like 80s early 80s I’d say Supertramp need laugh take a look at these guys now rainbow
I had the cassette for the album of this song in 1987 when I was 18. Decades later, I noticed immediately that it is used for the commercial on the new Apple Vision Pro. The song has been reintroduced to a new generation.
I heard this song when I was 13 years old, now I am 57 and renowated floors in my house, still listening for motivation to Supertramp! Masters of good Music!!!
I played this to my 1 and a half year old son back in 2002. He danced frantically in his crib as his mon became upset. He plays this to me now occasionally as he drives me around to my appointments. I call that an accomplished impression
From "that era"? Uh uh...no... from somewhere else: beyond and outside of time - a mood, a message and a melody that visits those who dare to listen for it
I saw this performed live in Ottawa in 1974, when the song first came out. I was just a kid, but it's stuck with me as one of my favourite concerts ever. 😊
50 years since I saw the Crime of the Century tour in 1974 in Vancouver. Saw them at least six times after that over the next 20 years. One of the tightest , most professional bands I’ve ever seen.
Good to see there's still people with good taste in music who appreciate this timeless classic. I may not've been around when it came out but it's one of the many classics I grew up with, as long as I'm around others will hear music like this through me as I pass them by.

One of my favorite Supertramp songs. "Can you put your hands in your head", 30 years later the answer to that question was yes, I can put my hands in my head. I'm a psychic surgeon who in 2010 removed brain tumors. Today, since 2012, I do successful lung & sinus transplant surgeries psychically. I put my hands in people's heads all the time. :) "You can be anything you want boy." ✌P*E*A*C*E✌
I'm of Indian origin and was born and raised in London. I always thought SuperTramp were American for some strange reason. They're from London.. another fabulous English Rockband. I'm sooo proud to be British as we've produced the best ever music... best singers and bands.
What's funny is that I thought the same thing. I actually thought Supertramp was from Pontiac, Michigan and were a part of the brand of 70s rock that was coming out of the midwest. Like how Styx and Chicago are from Chicago, IL, REO Speedwagon is from Champagne, IL, and Bob Seger being from Detroit etc. It was kind of a mindfuck when I realized they were British.
My favorite from Supertramp. It's just so different, not formulaic, so creative in the vocals and the way they play off of each other, and always surprising where it goes next. Seeing them perform it is even better.
Wow. I was never so grateful for my purchase of a half-decent sound-set (still wired to my computer! I am a troglodyte) but I have just heard them in actual stereo, etc. Great all these years later.
I am still a big fan of them!!!! Nowadays there is no more music like this, thats not because I'm old, but the times changed and therefore the kind of music and their generations. I am nearly 70 but I also like the modern music, but this SUPERTRAMP music is different and is unbeatable......
Verdade!
I was invited to this concert by someone whose date cancelled. I'd never even heard of them but it ended up being one of the best concerts I've ever been to & loved them ever since!
The first time I ever heard of Supertramp was from the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie back in 2000 Yeah i was a sheltered kid lol if my mom didn't like it, we didn't play it in the house. But i always liked the cartoon when i was little. so when the movie came out i wanted to see it (i was also intrigued by the song in movie trailer.) I've fallen in love with them even more over the years. i found a lot of their songs relatable. But it wasn't until my sons were in their late teens that I realized there is a Supertramp song for everyone. The three of us were hanging out at a state park, watching alligators cruising across the lake and listening to Pandora when this Dreamer started playing.... it was in that moment I dedicated it to my oldest son who is absolutely a dreamer - but he's also a doer.... when he commits himself to it. At the age of 17 he bought his first truck for $400 (scrap price) dragged it out of the woods, cleaned it up, repaired it and sold it for $2k. And he's completely rebuilt the engine all by himself on his great grandad's '89 Ford pickup. All with his own money. But he spends time between projects just... dreaming.... but just when you're about to lose hope that he'll ever do anything he blows your mind. Of course all he heard was "Stupid little dreamer" ..so i had to find the song in youtube and show him the lyrics as it played again. Then he got it. And not to be left out I dedicated the Logical Song to my other son. He's the epitome of an old soul, jaded too soon by life, the magic stolen from him by "logical" people (but it's ok because he stole it back). My husband arrived shortly after - a rare occurrence when he condescends to join us anywhere outside of dinner time... He asked what we were doing. and when i told him he asked what his song was. I said, Long Way Home (he sees himself as the main character in the song...) Mine is Goodbye Stranger. The older I get the more I can relate to it..
I was a little kid when this song first hit the airwaves and it was a fave of mine then and still is today. This entire LP is epic. The band was epically good.
I'm 64 I love the way music brings back memories and people I was just remembering a man I was very in love with when I was listening to this music I would have been about 20..
