man... this brings back some good memories... this was the first game i ever played on sega genesis... and good playing... it took me a lot longer than that to conquer the game:P... thankz for the memories dude... :)
Good show! This is the first emulator simulation I've seen that didn't use any noticable glitches, accept for the one that many others have already pointed out. I was always stuck on finding the third Emrald on the second stage, but now I know where to go. Thanks!
oh my god you're amazing at this game, when I saw the 10:51 I thought you'd probably do the first couple of levels, but you completely fly through them! I remember this game being so hard
It's 15 years that I don't see this game again, I played it a lot, I was stay at home from school to play it. I arrived in the last level but I never finished it, thaks to post this video! Finally i saw the finish!!! :D
Holy cow. You blew through that game like yur God. I got that for my birthday the year it came out and still to this day sonic spinball is my fav sega game. Flawless playing bro.
NOW THIS BRINGS BACK MEMORIES! I was one of the artists on this game (did the art for the first (toxic waste) level. I haven't seen or played this game in YEARS. Hearing the music again is giving me serious flashbacks!! It was a kick being able to see the whole game beginning to end again, there is no way I could make it through the game today with out relearning the whole thing again!
Wow. That was a near-flawless run. I didn't think such a thing were possible, especially since it'd take me that long just to beat the first level, even having played the game for over a decade. Mad props, dude.
Looking back, I found this game incredibly scary, particually with the sounds of the bosses, they make this weird NEEEEE noise. Also, the brutal undertone of animals being turned into robots was more graphic on this game then any other. Still, its a classic, hard as shit though. I particually love the way the banner tells you whats happening at the top.
Did not realize you can flip the mine cart through the switch loop to get the other emerald without having to pull the lever down to raise the bridge. 1:15
This game is my first actual console video game. Played it so many times on my Genesis, and still play it to this day. Furthest I've ever gotten was 3 emeralds on the final level. Still love that music.
omg I once managed to get to the last level though I didnt know it was the last one until now.. well I died there but it looks so easy watching you ^^ very well played!
Hahaha, the memories. I remember when I first played this game it was SOOOO hard and complicated for me. But wow, this guy plays like he knows the game like the back of his hand. Good stuff.
Wow, I sucked so hard on that game, never even passed the first stage. But watching this TAS the game looks pretty cool! And the music is great, as usual!
Robotnik's size fluctuates quite a bit, going from maybe 10 feet tall in the final boss room to maybe 5 feet tall in the final credits (assuming sonic is about 2 feet tall).
It's amazing to see this because I have only beat it using save states when it came out in the Sonic Collection.. couldn't get passed stage 2 to save my life when I played it on Genesis!!!
Ah Sonic Spinball, I had this on the Mega Drive (uk) when I was young. I've never beaten it ever, it's really hard (either that or I got bored/ran out of time before beating it). This game has some of the most ear splitting, headache inducing sound effects ever and the bosses are super freaky! Such a great classic game.
I have concluded that the Robotnik in this game is not actually Robotnik, but some sort of demon pretending to be him. I mean, seriously. That scream. And the blatant shapeshifting. Demons!
i remember i like crapped myself the first time i beat this game, i was amazingly happy because i ALWAYS lost on the last level, then i just did it some how, but besides that, great run man!
The idea of this TAS is to get to the end screen of the game as possible, where it says "Credits" or the final cutscene or whatever. If content is able to be skipped, it will be.
So he beats the game in less than 11 minutes. Well done. I did the same thing years ago, without the use of an emulator with key assists. Just a sega genesis and some good old fashioned skill. Yes, it's a difficult game, but it can be done. So to all you gamers, don't give up!!
You wernt the only one. For some reason this game creeped me out too. The slime, acid, evilish looking bosses, and that shark that tries to eat you. "SLAM ON BUTTONS!" lolol It might have been that the graphics were alot more realistic in this game. But regardless, this was one of the most innovative games ever made, right along with Comix Zone and VectorMan. The way the score bar talked to you and made snide remarks when they knew you made a stupid mistake is what made this game so fun.
I think it's a very good speedrun. Man it took me ages as a kid to figure out how to get the emeralds in the second level (those two where you have to use the steam)
I remember spending hours playing this game when I got it as a kid. Hours...go to school...think about it...come home...play it...throw the controller...be pissed...then play it again.
My grandma's sister bought me this game when it came out. I have enough practice and can complete this game any time I try to, but yes it gets very frustrating when you mess up and have to go through same parts of the level again and again if you fall to a lower area. If you get all the rings in a level you can activate a ring of stars that appears in the level that takes you to the multiball bonus stage if you touch it. Your goal there is to destroy the crab robot. 3 balls at once!
I only beat the original Genesis version once. And it was friggin' hard. Took me hours to figure out what I was supposed to do. I know this is tool-assisted, but it's still neat.
I LOVE Sonic Spinball! Watching this was fun because I got to see all the routes and paths executed flawlessly. I probably would've done the same stuff if I made a TAS of this. 91,629,000. Wow. I can never go that high.
never made it passed that toxic first level. terrible memories i love it
man... this brings back some good memories... this was the first game i ever played on sega genesis... and good playing... it took me a lot longer than that to conquer the game:P... thankz for the memories dude... :)

oh my god you're amazing at this game, when I saw the 10:51 I thought you'd probably do the first couple of levels, but you completely fly through them! I remember this game being so hard
Tool assisted my dude.
@@MightyZia I can now sleep at night. It's been a long 12 years...
This game was such nightmare fuel for me as a kid.
so hard:|
Same here. i remember when Eggman was falling. it sounded like screaming more than that falling from the sky sound
Not to mention no save points like we have nowadays. So playing it perfect from beginning to end in one sitting was impossible !lol
Already amazed 30 seconds in to see such accuracy - incredible to watch!
This is one of my favorite sonic games! It is reminicent to the "casino zones" in the sonic platformers.
The sound design in this game was phenomenal. My fav out of every sonic soundtrack.. very industrial and gritty
anybody who played this originally knows it had a real man's difficulty. beating the game was a real accomplishment. nice work man.
YOU CAN HIT THE MINECART WITH THE FLIPPERS HOLY SHIT EVERYTHING I'VE EVER KNOWN DOESN'T MEAN SHIT NOW
yeah I just remembered that was a thing! guess my next playthrough just got easier
i remember i got this for xmas, i beat the game but not nearly as fast as u did. u did an exceptional job bro
NOW THIS BRINGS BACK MEMORIES!
I was one of the artists on this game (did the art for the first (toxic waste) level. I haven't seen or played this game in YEARS. Hearing the music again is giving me serious flashbacks!!
It was a kick being able to see the whole game beginning to end again, there is no way I could make it through the game today with out relearning the whole thing again!
i didnt think this game would ever been mastered but this guy is the man
Wow. That was a near-flawless run. I didn't think such a thing were possible, especially since it'd take me that long just to beat the first level, even having played the game for over a decade. Mad props, dude.
This was awesome. I've gotten to the last level and could never get to the boss. You're an amazing gamer
Very impressive! I didn't know that trick where you flipped the cart over to the other track! That's awesome!
man u rule
Major Jelly over here! You have some serious skills/ is major lucky. It took me about 10 min for the first level alone, I kept looping. :(
Damn you beat the whole game in 10 mins. Amazing dude. I couldn't even get past the second level. Takes me forever.
Looking back, I found this game incredibly scary, particually with the sounds of the bosses, they make this weird NEEEEE noise. Also, the brutal undertone of animals being turned into robots was more graphic on this game then any other.
Still, its a classic, hard as shit though.

Did not realize you can flip the mine cart through the switch loop to get the other emerald without having to pull the lever down to raise the bridge. 1:15
Sonic Pinball has to be one of the best games of the 90's
you've accomplished something in 10-minutes I've tried doing for over 15 years. Well done sir.
wow i remember this.. i forgot all about it till i randomly clicked on it.. thanks for the upload man
It took my whole childhood just to get to the beginning of level 2... you did it in 3 minutes.
Thanks, I was always curious what the later stages of this game looked like but never willing to sink any time into it.
1:36-1:41 even though that was a glitch in the music, it was a pretty sick beat
wow, this game is sooo hard for me too, i love watching TAS on classic games.
Yeah the score bar was pretty unheard of at the time, its like a primitive version of SHODAN or GLaDOS.
This game is my first actual console video game. Played it so many times on my Genesis, and still play it to this day.
Furthest I've ever gotten was 3 emeralds on the final level.
Still love that music.
This game was SO good back in the day.
That looked so much easier than it actually is; and the music... brings back memories :D
omg
I once managed to get to the last level
though I didnt know it was the last one until now..
well I died there
but it looks so easy watching you ^^
very well played!
Happy twentieth anniversary, Sonic Spinball.
The music is freaking ear-grating. What memories.
Gotta admit, this game had a great soundtrack. Especially the showdown theme and boss theme.
That was incredible! Too bad you didn't think much of the bonus stages, but still, that's quite an acheivement. Well done.
wow I need like 10 minutes to pass the 1st level
and you in 10 minutes you complete the whole game
you're awesome :)
looks fun
Robotnik's size fluctuates quite a bit, going from maybe 10 feet tall in the final boss room to maybe 5 feet tall in the final credits (assuming sonic is about 2 feet tall).
here in 10 minutes this person has done what took me over 2 years to in my childhood
I played this game when i was 5 or 6, reached Showdown but couldn't finish it. Im going to beat it now i've watched your video many times xD
It's amazing to see this because I have only beat it using save states when it came out in the Sonic Collection.. couldn't get passed stage 2 to save my life when I played it on Genesis!!!
This game had some of the scariest looking bosses in the whole franchise...
Starrk
Veg-O-Machine? No.
That Billy/Jimmy Lee pic at 0:00 looks like the pic of that scene with Bruce Lee/Chuck Norris in Way of The Dragon/Return of The Dragon
That's like...impossible, man! For a lot of those things, your accuracy has to be 100% perfect!
this was the best game in existence.
if you think about it though, this game was designed really damn well
the boss at 2:06 is nightmare fuel
Ah Sonic Spinball, I had this on the Mega Drive (uk) when I was young. I've never beaten it ever, it's really hard (either that or I got bored/ran out of time before beating it). This game has some of the most ear splitting, headache inducing sound effects ever and the bosses are super freaky! Such a great classic game.
this game takes serious skill to beat but to be able to speed play this and in about 11 mins. is just on a whole greater level
I consider myself really good at The Machine, but what you did was just filthy!
I have concluded that the Robotnik in this game is not actually Robotnik, but some sort of demon pretending to be him. I mean, seriously. That scream. And the blatant shapeshifting. Demons!
I loved this game. Sonic is the best!
SonicKAI if your watching.....
PLEASE put up the audio tracks to this game.
The noises Robotnik makes at the end are priceless. 11:27 and 11:39.
I used to play this game while listening to the STP Core album for hours and hours.
I've made it through the first three levels, both in Genesis and Mega Collection, but that last level was, and still is, a pain in the butt to beat!
That game excellent. And the music was killer!
ridiculously good.
So precise!
i remember i like crapped myself the first time i beat this game, i was amazingly happy because i ALWAYS lost on the last level, then i just did it some how, but besides that, great run man!
... That was amusing...
Ahh, the memories...
Brings back bad memories of not being able to play this game to save my life.
When I was younger this was my fave sonic game despite the fact that I could never complete it :3
@pacboy24 he's doing that so he spends less time in the bonus stage, so he can finish quicker. he's going for time, not points.
Dude this guys is a boss...
Excellent work! A true prodigy! You are the supreme master of this game! You must feel so proud!
simply amazing..
The idea of this TAS is to get to the end screen of the game as possible, where it says "Credits" or the final cutscene or whatever. If content is able to be skipped, it will be.

First level is mindblowing..I didn't know you had to get those other two emeralds rofl..
That boss is CRAZY !! Spider ROBOTNIK
Easily one of the hardest if not the hardest Sonic game of all time. And it's just a spin-off!
This game was ridiculously hard, I envy you, when I was a kid it took me HOURS to beat this game.
Why the fuck don't they have music like this on the new games? My god. Like Jackson meets Nine Inch Nails.
+El Loco Draco Same style they used for Kid Chameleon.
omg, I had no idea there was another level after the machine. Never could beat this darn game.
What a rush to see this game again after a decade.
Got Damn, i still find this game difficult, you made it seem so easy, even if this was tool assisted.
if they made a remake or sequel or something i would get it in a heartbeat
Genesis makes the best platforms game
I think it's a very good speedrun.
Man it took me ages as a kid to figure out how to get the emeralds in the second level (those two where you have to use the steam)
damn you make this look easy. didnt realize the game was that short lol
I remember spending hours playing this game when I got it as a kid. Hours...go to school...think about it...come home...play it...throw the controller...be pissed...then play it again.
i love how the explosion sound even has a rhythm... BAM BAM BADUM BAM BAM BUM BUM..... BAM BAM BADUM BAM
i love how u make this insanely hard game look easy ive never passed lv 2 lolz
I never could get past the machine. The game wasn't so great but I pretended to love it anyway just because it was Sonic!
I love the music.
The last input was made at 10:51
They want to make a second one....but they just dont have the "balls".
My grandma's sister bought me this game when it came out.
I have enough practice and can complete this game any time I try to, but yes it gets very frustrating when you mess up and have to go through same parts of the level again and again if you fall to a lower area.

Whaaa!? So I had to wiki TAS to understand what was going on here lmbo. This is still awesome it takes a lot of skill and practice to pull this off.
I LOVE Sonic Spinball! Watching this was fun because I got to see all the routes and paths executed flawlessly. I probably would've done the same stuff if I made a TAS of this.
91,629,000. Wow. I can never go that high.
Alton Towers 2010 season, a ride will be based on this.
The second level's boss reminds me of Giygas from Earthbound. Creepy.
Awesome run.
Actually it was always Eggman when sonic 1 was released in Japan.
I was changed to Robotnik when it got here to sound more intimidating I bet.
