Not quite a pinball game, not quite a platformer. It's really intense. I've beaten that final boss, and it's one of those gaming achievements I'm surprised I managed.
I always remembered this as one of my favorite spin offs as a kid. It never occurred to me that I ... 1. Never made it past stage one. 2. Never conceived of anyone actually beating it. Here I am in 2020 watching this in awe. :)
Wow, I didn't think anyone would speedrun THIS game, let alone at a GDQ! It was interesting to see the whole game for once (even with the screwups), especially since I never got farther than obtaining the second emerald in Toxic Cave. I wouldn't even know of this game's existence if it wasn't in the Sonic Mega Collection!

Happy 30th anniversary Sonic the Hedgehog and Happy Birthday you've Been part of my childhood for a very long time helping me going through the good and bad times because I have learning difficulties and it's so annoying and stressful but your video games TV shows music and movies that's what makes me happy all the time you're my favourite video game character of all time and been your biggest fan since 1994 or 1995 the first sonic game I ever played was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 because collecting all the Chaos Emeralds and turning into super Sonic for the first time is amazing and outstanding and to have a little buddy and sidekick on his side tails is really cool my favourite 2D Sonic game of all time is Sonic Mania and my favorite 3D Sonic game of all time is Sonic Adventure and I'm very lucky to be born the same year as sonic in 1991 I've been a big sonic fan since I was 3 or 4 years old and I've got a tattoo of Sonic that I got on my birthday back in 2016 and that makes me a true Sonic fan I've got lots of Sonic merchandise and can't wait to see the new Sonic movie next year and I'll be wearing my special Sonic the Hedgehog trainers at the cinema thank you Sonic you've mean a lot to me and you're like a brother to me and I love you so much thank you SEGA and thank you to the man himself Mr Naka the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog you're the coolest Sonic creator in the world from your biggest fan of all time Jamie Stephen Hunnisett AKA Jimbob. 💙 😁 💙
I HATED this game. I remember I wanted Sonic 3 and got this instead. One day I was doing really good and got to level 4 but I had to leave .never played it again

Anybody else played this game on their old nokia phone? I always played this in school during boring lessons. Never got past the 3rd level.
I actually learned that you have to swing side to side on the rope in the lava level. I always just kinda assumed you needed to mash out.

Yes there is. The other 3 zones are:
Lava powerhouse (it’s the second level)
The machine (the third level)
And showdown (final stage).

When I was on the final boss fight it was hardly ever letting me hit him which was VERY upsetting.

I could make it to The Machine pretty easily as a kid but from there I struggled. Only made it to the final stage once and I didn’t beat it.
Never been able to beat this game as a kid, the farthest I’ve gotten was the 4th level showdown and never managed to even reach the Robotnik boss.
