I'll never understand how anyone could dislike this band. Literally the most accessible punk band of all time with tremendous crossover power. They were/are so incredible. Even their weaker stuff is still good alt rock.
Doctor Bryan Keith "Dexter" Holland BS, MS, PhD is also a licensed Airline Transport Pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor, who made a solo trip around the world in ten days. Dr. Dexter Holland was a doctoral student at the Laboratory of Viral Oncology and Proteomics Research, Keck School of Medicine, where he was supervised by Professor Suraiya Rasheed. In March 2013, Holland and co-authors published a paper in PLoS One regarding microRNA in HIV genomes, titled "Identification of Human MicroRNA-Like Sequences Embedded within the Protein-Encoding Genes of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus". The original academic paper describes the use of computational molecular biological (in silico) approaches to identify microRNA-like sequences in HIV. These sequences are suggested to have evolved to self-regulate survival of the virus in the host by evading its immune responses and thus influence the persistence, replication, and pathogenicity of HIV. Holland was awarded his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology during the USC Commencement on May 12, 2017. Now that's "Pretty Fly for a White Guy"
fav-song of my friend who died back then when he was 18. the song was played in the church ... lord, why do you cut onions right now? It's like 20 years ago!!!
I sense a hint of tuning in his voice unfortunately, especially when he hits those high notes that should sound almost raspy, sounds like Weird Al instead.
When I heard this song on the radio for the first time, I had to buy it! Love it as much now as I did then! The only thing that makes it better is watching them perform it! This is one of the best live performances I've seen!!!
probably because there are some tricks in the back ground ... it sounds too perfect to be true - no chance that this is all his own voice - love the band and this song though, no hate :)
I think most bands should be like these guys, they enjoy performing their music and they never get tired of performing. it's like they don't have to work a day in their life.
omg!
one of Dexter Hollands idol's is the late great Steve Young of the first generation punk band Lost Cause. He was a great friend and it saddens me greatly that he has left us. RIP Steve my brother, I love you.
What Ida given to been at this concert. They don't make music like this anymore and to see these guys and other bands like them back in their prime would have been amazing :,( of course if I was in my 20's back then Ida probably been playing guitar in a band already.. I just can't get any inspiration these days, all the good lyrics, riffs, and leads have been written down, you can't write anything without it sounding similar to something else.
A lot of pro-shot concerts (especially those that are released for sale afterwards) are edited/touched up/have tracks or parts re-recorded after the fact to make them sound more polished.
I don't hear obvious autotune. If you notice they're playing the song half a step or possibly a full step down from normal to accommodate his vocal range, and honestly I think it sounds great. With age it's common to lose the top high of your range, or struggle to hit it, and alot of older bands will tune things down. Some songs don't sound as great being tuned down but this one seems to sounds just fine.
i seriously don't care about autotune or any other tool, i only care about the result and he would have done better without it. i don't feel cheated, just feel that someone in his crew made a bad decision by not trusting his singer's natural talent.
I'll think I'll give a bit of a pass to any autotune here haha his voice can only age so well, and they kinda wrote themselves into a corner with songs that hinge on him that really high yell thing he does.
I said sounded auto tuned...not WAS auto tuned. Like Jason S said there's heavy compression through sound gates on dexters vocal channel and @2:57 his voice almost SOUNDS pitch shifted lmfao. I prefer the original, raw sound of the offspring when I saw them live
Thanx fot the info. I understand that some polishing may be done, but in my opinion this is too much. I've seen the offspring twice and dexter was singing pretty fine.
no matter his singing band's looks still and always has been a amazing band everything they put out . original sounds better than 5fdp version . they slowed it down to much
I'll never understand how anyone could dislike this band. Literally the most accessible punk band of all time with tremendous crossover power. They were/are so incredible. Even their weaker stuff is still good alt rock.
Good Apollo the dislike came from Gucci gang and K pop fan.
Imma be honest, they made the same song like 4 times
Eli Koger, pretty fly for a white guy, keep em seperated, why don’t you get a job, professional prankster
Eli Koger take another listen
Eli Koger, you a musical expert?

One of their best live performances, dexter's voice was awesome
hearing them live...like listening to the radio. awesome
1. Dexter's voice sounds really good here.
2. Noodle needs a haircut.
3. I don't think the bassist ever moves.
I sense a hint of tuning in his voice unfortunately, especially when he hits those high notes that should sound almost raspy, sounds like Weird Al instead.
I know I'm quite randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to watch new series online?
@Ayaan Alberto i watch on flixzone. You can find it on google =)

The Offspring the best band in the world......From Chile
My favourite Offspring song by a mile...
And I only heard it for the first time a few weeks back!
Probably, this is the best song from Offspring. Love it about 15 years
best live version I've heard yet.
Actually listen to Offspring live recently, you'll notice he sings better now than he did in the 90's
So true
probably because there are some tricks in the back ground ... it sounds too perfect to be true - no chance that this is all his own voice - love the band and this song though, no hate :)

+tamara ghan You know he's not reading this, right?
Perfect, just perfect!
One of my fave songs by them. Dexter does sound good here.
Totally agreed they are crossover band ... I am not into this genre' but they are on my playlist
Gone away adalah lagu terbaik dari the offspring.salam dari indonesia...

Saw Offspring two years ago at northern Invasion, Dexter hair was shorter and so was noodles hair, still sound good😝🎸😎😍🤘🤘🤘

A lot of pro-shot concerts (especially those that are released for sale afterwards) are edited/touched up/have tracks or parts re-recorded after the fact to make them sound more polished.

Πολύ ωραίο τραγούδι...
Reach to the sky and call out His name....
Song reminds me of my gram who passed away 2 years ago. If i could trade i would.
yeah, you're right, Dexter doesn't only needs to let it grow, the dreads need to come back to:)
@oasisoasis21 you're correct, he doesn't, but he is using auto-tune in this live performance.

❤
@mar3c9787 thats rite... totally agree with you...
Did somebody glue the audience to the floor? Ace song from back when they were a great band!
Одно из лучших исполнений этого шедевра.
Never knew Luke Skywalker could sing and play guitar...
I was front row at this show. I got invited to the private live taping at Fox Studios. You can see me twice on camera during hammerhead.
Great! somebody noticed! :D
Pj sent me🤘
One Yahoo......
they do it, half step down ;)
Wow, that was 9 years ago.
is it just me or does noodles look SO HARDCORE WITH LONG HAIR? :D
I think it's one step lower than the record. But I don't blame him not wanting to have to sing that high C!
@Bahu767 ya...Greg doesnt move much, though he does do the rocking back and forth
Luke SkyDexter is strong with the Force on the vocals and guitar.
Deadest crowd I've heard in my life. Great performance too...
Michael Johnson some songs you just gotta listen and live the moment. This is one of those songs.
Sounds a bit like Weird Al, not sure why, but this version just does :P!
i seriously don't care about autotune or any other tool, i only care about the result and he would have done better without it. i don't feel cheated, just feel that someone in his crew made a bad decision by not trusting his singer's natural talent.

just4joebob actually singing good after many years isn’t that hard.Just don’t take drugs and booze.peace,man.
@Brownies3411 Dexter Holland doesnt need no autotune
Wow, I was just thinking that lol
Suena muy robótico .w.
@Bahu767 his voice sounds good cuz if you listen closely you can hear the auto-tune detune
@GaijinGDB i actually caught that a little after i listened carefully
it makes me sad that they are almost 50 years old =´[
I said sounded auto tuned...not WAS auto tuned.
Like Jason S said there's heavy compression through sound gates on dexters vocal channel and @2:57 his voice almost SOUNDS pitch shifted lmfao.
I prefer the original, raw sound of the offspring when I saw them live
There does seem to be other forces at work at 2:51, still great tho.
Auto tune ? post mix? do not care. Four guys rocking it. Can not fake that.
half step down? gimme a break
There is no autotune there...
@IxnayOnT3hHombre LMFAO #EPIC!!
