I like how when you teach, you're constantly giving fist bumps and positive reinforcement. So many instructors don't do that! They just sit there quietly and only speak when the student does something wrong. It makes the student feel way more nervous/frustrated and make more mistakes. You know how to keep them calm and confident. Keep doing the great work you do brother!
My man I used your teaching to help me shift in the yard and it worked like a charm .. my instructor took notice to my improvements can’t thank you enough for these helpful videos
I watched this video over and over again while in CDL school. This video taught me how to downshift correctly. Because of you, I earned my CDL Class A today. Thanks.
i used to deep clutch on my first tries and deep breaks too. im like why am i loosing so much air pressure? shes like, your breaking too deep lol. its true what they said, the more gentle you are with the truck, the better it responds which is ironic considering how big and heavy they are. its interesting.
I know. The instructor is nice and all, but double clutching too deep is an automatic fail during your test, not to mention burning the clutch brake and costing the company you work for a lot of money in unnecessary truck maintenance and repairs.
Best video yet, helped me a lot with timing at the yard I’m going to school at. Big up’s to the editor who went the extra mile to focus on the clutch and the gear shifter, it helped out a lot.
Excellent video, I am very grateful for having taught me, when the other videos will be uploaded where it will help me to remove the restriction from my license
@@ACETruckKing I wish you were my instructor bro I have failed twice on the driving portion with 6 manual speed truck in New York.I’ve been taking another 2 lesson for the same driving portion with the same school. The instructor is a lady who keeps talking on the phone while in truck which students. She tells me to keep going on the same speed limit in the curve or I’m gonna get failed. She said you can’t go 5 miles below the speed limit in curves and can’t slow down either .If 50 miles per hour on highway you have to be doing 50 in the curves where no speed limit posted.Yet,The NY CDL manual says the otherwise please tell me what I’m supposed to do i have my test on 6th feb?
Busy bro gud morning Trust me your videos are so helpful I m in Jamaica and I watch them and trust it help me to do my down shifting now I'm almost doing it perfect cod bless you always my brother heart of love
The instructor really seems nice and all, but his student is double-clutching way too deep. You are supposed to only pass the friction point (maybe an 2 - 3 inches depending on the truck) or else you engage the clutch brake every time, which will burn it. Where I am from, this is an automatic fail during your test.
From when I did my training and experience, if you floor the clutch between shifts it won’t get into gear proper and grind on you. There were a couple times he floored it and you heard the grinding.
Thank you so much for this!!! I used your technique and it worked flawless!!! My intructor was also not as patient like you are. You're a great teacher!!!
There is a guy here on youtube named dastrom and you can watch him drive an old 1950s kenny. It will give you a pretty good idea on how to slide into the throttle as you do shifts. Its way easier to do than double clutch stuff and in reality the only time you may need to tap the clutch is on a hard downshift. He drives like the old timers around our neck of the woods and as long as you dont stress your shift. everything goes well. The newer eatons are much more forgiving and wont kick the shifter back into your hands, if you catch the top of a spline.
@@donotcare330 You will never get a cdl without a auto restriction if you cannot double clutch, Everyone who really drives a manual floats gears but to pass the test you must double clutch.
I hate eaton manual transmission, They don't have a synchronizer like European trucks, driving an american semitruck with a manual transmission should be just like driving a light car... But American truck manufacturers hated drivers and that's why they left the transmissions without synchronizers, just to stress the drivers more... what a nightmare! Thank goodness they're all automatic now, a little light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't understand why you have to double clutch every gear. In europe all the trucks (Volvo, Mercedes, Daf, Iveco, Man, Scania e.t.c) you simply single clutch and change gear. All this comes very smooth, accurate and fast. Do Why in US all the classical trucks need to double clutch. They haven't yet invented full synchromesh gearboxes as we do have in Europe. Also the quality of manufacturing. European trucks are by far more reliable and well made with top components. So If i am a truck driver in us i will have to learn how to double clutch......
