MIchel, another nice build! One suggestion; add two brushes on the bottom of the saw who remove sawdust from the saw. Add a tray at the bottom to remove the dust easily from the machine. Best! Job
Thanks! Yes, there will be many additions, and saw blade cleaning brushes (just the heads of the cheapest toothbrushes I can buy) will be one of them. And - of course - a magnet .😉
@@Michel-Uphoff and it's really power limited so if you run it at it's slowest speed it will just stall. Much better now i fitted a 300w motor. I still tend to run it on full and just power through everything though, would t actualy cut faster if i ran the belt at a lower speed?
@@Sigmatechnica Depending on the grade, you cut steel at 30 (stainless) to 120 m/min (free cutting mild steel) with a bi-metal saw while using coolant, 20 to 90 m/min, or even less, when cutting dry. Faster is possible, but then tool life is a lot shorter. The problem with those cheaper brushed motors is, that they lose a lot of torque at low rpm. That is why I chose a more expensive brushless motor, which has high torque at low speed. However, if you mainly cut non-ferrous metal, wood and plastic, then you can crank up the speed considerable without damaging the saw blade. Personally, I wouldn't cut steel with that Proxxon machine, because 180 m/min will quickly take its toll on the blade.
@@Michel-Uphoff Yes the blades do ware out quickly. maybe that's why! :O. I had always just assumed it was due to ther enot being very many teeth on that short blade. maybe i'll try to fit a speed control on the new motor i fitted and see how it does.
@@Sigmatechnica I assume it's a 230V brushed AC motor? If so "dimming" (cutting back average current) won't do the trick. You'l lose too much torque then.
Very good, beautiful work :) Maybe add a quick shopvac holder / funnel to the right side leading in to the blade just underneath the table? But I guess it will never cut huge amount of stock, and wont make huge amounts of chips :)
Bandsaw, what a wonderfull idea, thanks for sharing this, Michel would you be able to supply me with the wiring dia. never seen this , again great . Peter
Route a slot in the table and build a sled that runs in the slot and possibly has stops on it for cutting to a dimension. The sled can have a clamp in it for cutting round stock because cutting round stock is possibly the most dangerous thing that can be done on a BS. A fence parallel to the blade is also a desirable thing, I would have allowed clearance on the table securing bolts using counter bored holes to get any fence or table slot parallel to the blade face.
And then there is always someone who has not watched a video properly and thinks he should give the "advice" that the builder himself has long thought through and reported.
Please do not take this as a criticism, I would much rather hear the inane chatter to the horrendous piano music. I’m a barbarian from America so please excuse my lack of refinement, lol. Joined your channel as it’s absolutely amazing.
That's the most beautiful band saw I have ever seen, great job Michel.
Thank you! 🙂
This bandsaw just looks better every video

Amazing machine footage..
Sharing...thanks
Very nice work sir
Well done Michel. It's a precision bandsaw!
Thank you! I hope it will prove to be accurate. So far I am enthusiastic.
What a cool machine Michel! Hope you won’t mind copying your ideas, looking for a small bandsaw for my cramped hobby room!
Great machine thanks for sharing
Thank you, it's coming along very nicely. 👍💪✌
Another great instalment Michel.
Thank you Colin 😊
Looking good! you get a good throat depth there with the 4 wheel design, which is one of the major limiting factors in my proxxon mini bandsaw.
I looked that machine up a few month ago, and they stated a minimum band speed of 180 mtr/min. That's too fast for steel.

Fantastic build Michel, another precision tool for your shop.
Thank you David. I still have a lot of work to do before the machine is finished, but it's progressing now.

Yesssssss 😀 2-4 pole.. I was sure there is something about it...
After all.. it's only thing I can imagine, that will cut seped exactly to half
Looking good mister. Nice work
Great one. Hah, told you to check the switches :D
Anyhow, I would also add kinda emulsion system or a "fogbuster" style lubrication.
Nice work!

Send me an e-mail and tell me what brand and type of motor and driver you use, and I will see what I can do.
Thats brilliant 👍👍
Michel, Very nice result. Are you going to incorporate a guide system for the stock. Or simply saw to a line?
Yes. With autofeed if I can manage that.
@@Michel-Uphoff Oh I like the sound of that! I will stay tuned Michel!
where's a good place for materials in Europe?

That's pretty much what I mentioned in my to do list at the end of the video

@Andreas-Bauer21 Thanks for your unsolicited advice, I did not interpret his comments the same way.
Just subscribed, nice work! Maybe you have shown in other videos, sorry did not watch them yet, question what glue (crazy one :) do you use?
Loctite Universal 60sec

Great machining work along with a really nice video however that music ...........not for me!
