They have a physical store less than an hour from me. They also buy unclaimed freight pallets and such. They even have random props from movies that were left behind/lost.
The physical store is actually pretty cool if you go in with the idea that it’s a bunch of junk with some diamonds very deeply hidden behind a pay wall, it’s basically playing the lottery but you get to see the payouts of the cards
I bought a Kindle Paperwhite from there a few years ago for an excellent deal (I did my research and checked eBay, Amazon, etc.) and the one from Unclaimed Baggage was the best deal and still works great to this day.

I thought only Apple could do that. So either there's a ton of people walking around with no password protection or Unclaimed Baggage has a secret work around to wipe Apple devices.
They work with apple. When something goes unclaimed like this and you have it and it's password and tracked like said stuff. Then, it's on them for not claiming. Especially if Apple knows that they warranty replaced it or somthing. If so then they can sell it and give apple money
I’m pretty sure that a recent update I think if you say you forgot you’re password you can factory reset you’re phone. I know for a fact it hasn’t always been like that because when I was young i forgot the password on my IPAD and had to go through apple

2:30 there’s no shot someone “lost” that. What happened is they lost it, the airline claimed they couldn’t find it, and put it up for sale. If you’ve ever lost your luggage you know what a nightmare it is dealing with the airline to get it back. Now you know why. They have their own stolen goods website of your stuff
Whoever left Superman 64 for the Game Boy in an airplane is to have an experiment on whether someone like Austin would do something like trying out Unclaimed Baggage.

Its not a scam, they dont send out unopened suitcases, that would be really really unwise with all the drugs, guns and whatever else being trafficked through airports. They just recover unclaimed items, clean em up and resell them. This company also sell liquidated stock and suchlike. Of course you would know all this if you actually bothered watching the video lol.
I remember back when I was a kid I'm 54 now there was a news story or something on 69 minutes or something about this place. Back then, it was in person auction. They showed how they sorted and all. If I can remember right, at least then they bought unclaimed baggage by weight.
As someone from the area who has been to the brick and mortar store several times, I can tell you 100% you just learned what we all know. It's not worth it. Scottsboro is in the middle of nowhere. Don't take the plane ride.
you shouldn't be allowed to sell "unclaimed" baggage, that just incentivize lack of control/theft because now the airport has a monetary incentive to not give you your baggage back. Also there is NO WAY a 1000$+ laptop or modern phone doesn't have a way to track back the OG owner. Seems very scummy.
Lots of credit card companies have "lost luggage insurance" if you book travel with their card. They just pay a flat amount for your lost luggage. So, if you lost your bags and your credit card company is going to give you $1500 or whatever the number is, but the actual amount of stuff you lost was less, people will just get the money and abandon the bag.
Most of the good stuff is kept by the employees of the airport. Most of the stuff at the actual unclaimed store is way over priced for something they got for free..
Just to clarify (I work for Unclaimed) that we don’t get anything for free. We buy the bags from the airlines. About 1/3 of it is recycled, 1/3 of it is donated through our non-profit Reclaimed for Good, and the remaining 1/3 we sell
Bro do a insider video where you don't claim a bag filled with tons of expensive things, hide some tracker and track it to see if it does end up in Bama
LOL I can see this being a scam perpetrated by the airlines: You pay to send your luggage, it's over a certain weight so you get an additional charge, your luggage gets lost, and then the airline sells your "unclaimed" luggage effectively getting paid multiple times for the same item.🤣
How are laptops and handhelds "lost"? Anything with a lithium battery is not allowed in checked baggage. It's supposed to be in your carry on. Did they just not grab it when they got off the plane?
I bought the Trimui when it was first released and paid about 80 CAD. Pound per pound, it's a rockstar for anything up to the PS1, plus it's got some excellent custom firmware available as well.
I've watch a documentary about that place, the airport tries to contact the owners in anyway they can and when they fail or there is no way to find an owner, the airport sends the items to this company and they do full deep cleaning of all items and then proceed to sell the items to people online or at the actual store.
It ferls like they simpy often dont "loose" stuff, they just steal it and hope ensurance will cover the costs. Its like this with German DHL. The ones that INSIST that all luggage has locks the TSA can open with a TSA skeleton key? Sorry, my voice went hypersonic with incredulity.
Hi, I live in the UK, we have a store here called CEX, they sell all different types of tech, games, retro consoles, nothing is refurbished just used but they do offer a 5 year warranty on all the tech they sell, I'd be very interested in seeing a video of you testing out stuff bought from them to see what your opinion is
I don't like the Skullcandy hate lol. Skullcandy have been my go-to brand for over 15 years. Yeah, they're not the best, but for being so cheap they're great.
I call heavy BS on the "unclaimed" aspect of this. If I reported the loss of an expensive and niche/unique item and later found it on this kind of website, I would see grounds for a lawsuit. Either this website lies about where those items come from or airlines are extremely negligent in the management of lost/found luggage's.
For items to end up at Unclaimed Baggage, the airline has already tried and failed to match the bag to its owner for 90 days. For most airlines, if your luggage is lost but they can’t find it for you, you’re paid out the value of what was in the bag. Regardless the airlines are still left with the baggage that has nowhere to go, which is where Unclaimed Baggage comes in (or in the case of stuff lost in the airport and not by the airline, it may just be auctioned off)
You have to think about it in context of the crazy volume of air travel. The % of bags that get lost is super small, and the percentage of those that don’t get matched to their owner is a small fraction of that. Unclaimed has a ton for sale, but it’s still a tiny tiny fraction compared to the 900M+ people that travel and lose bags/items each year. That doesn’t include other places that might lose stuff that ends up at UB (like busses, trains, hotels, resorts, etc). If you think about something that’s serialized, the airline will file a lost report on their end with the serial number, but the person that lost the item has to also file a report for the item to get matched (which doesn’t always happen)
@@Djuntas yup for sure. It’s a pretty small amount that actually become ‘unclaimed’ and there’s a lot of reasons it may happen (maybe your tag was torn off, maybe the bag is really generic and not fully of anything identifiable, maybe the airport lost it and not the airline, etc)
