Love the self commentary at the charging station! We get both these cars in Australia next year which is exciting. I think I would go the Skoda RS Coup which probably compares quite closely to my Polestar 2 RWD.
When we were test driving and choosing our EV we test drove Id.4 GTX (AWD) and Enyaq 80 (RWD) back to back on the same day. While the Id.4 was AWD and 100hp more powerful, we still ended up with an Enyaq 80 RWD, because of exactly what Kris was pointing out, we didn't want to compromise on usability, practicality and interior quality. The Id.4 GTX interior is just awful compared to the nice brown leather interior of the (top trim) Enyaq. 🙃
Bad timing for that test. The newer more efficient ID.4 and Enyaq will start deliveries shortly. BTY, 320km at 130kph is what I get from my normal ID.5 pro (RWD 150kW)
Skoda all day long, looks matter, the Skoda is the better looking, the interior is far far better, 15km isn't enough of a difference to sway me to buy the VW ! Loved the self deprecating comedy at the recharge station 😂more please 👍
The higher power of the ID.4 in this test makes me assume that you tested an ID.4 with the new motor that was introduced with the ID.7, which is both more powerful and more efficient, against the 80x with the original motor, which has got the same update and now is called 85x - and to which your car will already automatically be upgraded if you‘ve ordered an 80x just recently. That makes the whole comparison kinda mute.
And not only this - the comparison should have been gtx vs škoda vrs not 80x. Due to more power, slightly lower height the RS version even by specifications got more range than 80x.
After the "Update" of the ID4 it's a no brainer. Software runs fluently, more horse power and I like the rear of the ID4 more than the Enyaq which looks old faishoned to me. If the ID4 has the front of the Enyaq ít would be my perfect fit.
Why is the ID.4 more popular than the Enyaq if the Enyaq is better? Disclaimer I own an ID.4. I think subjectively speaking Volkswagen succeeded making the ID.4 look like an electric Volkswagen and not just another Volkswagen. That’s could be appalling for many first time EV owners.
I heard the Enyaq infotainment system is really bad. A lot of ppl complain about it on Reddit. Also, they’re not customer friendly and really bad at updating their system.
Only few week and i finally will get my Enyaq 80x which i ordered 6/2022. Sadly it will come with old tech would be nice to get updated version after so long wait but nope. Good thing though it was much cheaper back then when i made order.
@@Houndog545 I chose Phoenix Orange color without sport line because i wanted more comfort. Wheels i got 19" Regulus for summer tires and 19" Black Crystal for winter tires and for same reason to get more comfort and slight better range. Almost every feature i wanted was standard already so i didn't pick much options only Matrix light with crystal face grill and tow bar.
The Enyaq are more expensive, at least here in Norway. Every similar test enyagq goes less km. But in fact enyaq has better wltp. So why does it always goes shorter?
Full spec both and Enyaq was 2000€ cheaper here in Finland also starting price for Enyaq is lower. Here has been public test were EV owners have able to participate to get real world range numbers and result for ID.4 real world combined range is 409 km and Enyaq 417 km. Numbers are form 3 different routes, motorway, highway and city and this test is repeated 4 times aka winter, spring, summer and fall. So those are more accurate than WLTP. Last time this event was there was around 150 car participating.
I voted for skoda one month ago The difference in the range is on the verge of error. The main difference in price ... acc to my experience, you can get an impressive discount from Skoda ... Volkswagen stands on it’s price list😔
Which one has the best aerodynamics? That misty explain the difference in range? I would live the better looking, nicer interior Skoda over the VW, I would also pick it over the Q4 Etron.
By the number Enyaq has lower drag coefficient number 0.23 when ID.4 has 0.28. But looks like he drove one car and then jumped to next car and drove same trip elements might have changed and those will affect results.
@@willielarsson9651probably because at that range it makes little difference. Not many need the extra range without charging, a faster charging speed is more important. The IX3 is clearly a different level of quality 5oo. And I am swapping my G30 520d for an Enyaq in a few weeks.
i wonder why WW group does like this canibalising on there own brands Enyaq is so much nicer then the ID4/ID5 why even bother to have a NON GTX with only 150 KW motor thats is so slow and dull i have the opertunity to drive a ID 5 Pro and an Enyaq Sportline in September and the Enyaq is better in evryway exept the range aperently.
Currently the three brands do not steal buyers from another. The market is still big enough, and having one car with three envelopes (Audi, škoda, VW) allows the VW Group to sell many more cars.
You don't get 150 kW motor anymore if you order one now, they will come with new rear motor 210 kW. And FYI Sportline is just another equipment level not power package.
Skoda is old style design. Too many buttons. Id4/5 is more futuristic. What happened when iphone came….. no buttons more like id4. The Skoda just have legacy branding of less attractive cars. But I must admit the interior looks better than VW.

Updated RS now makes more sense when it's actually has more power and faster acceleration than 85x.
You should try the GTX with the active dampers (DCC). They make a big difference to the ride.

Red somewhere that new rear engine will give roughly 50 km more range.

u can see it when u look at the gear selector, it is the non-update-version
We went for the enyaq 80 after testing both. Both seemed good, but interior and (slightly) larger boot space swung it for the enyaq.

Tested id 4 gtx today, fun to drive and found it so good. I m 193 cm in the rear were the best also in middle seat

The Enyaq looks better inside and out - but I live in Canada where Skoda does not exist, hence why I currently daily a Q4 e-tron.
