When you pointed out that 2,600 mile gab between Alaska and Hawaii you should have probably should have mentioned that this gap is the closest Hawaii comes to any point of the USA. Alaska is the Western, Eastern, and Northernmost state while Hawaii is SOUTHERNMOST state.
"Less taxes, more oil." -America after the discovery of Alaskan Oil in Prudhoe Bay
Mr. Beat. First off: I love your stuff man. You’re a big reason why I’m working towards an endorsement to teach middle school history.
Second off I would love if you did a “explain the cabinet” series. It just came up as I’m having a hard time describing the differences between the Treasury and Commerce and just thought it would be a cool topic.
Your president videos, and your educational videos such this one rock. I hope you, and your loved ones had a decent Thanksgiving.
Thank you. :)
@@iammrbeat 🙂😉👌👍
I see Mr Beat has never watched Dragon Ball...
The pronunciation of Kamehameha makes me sad
I brought that up to him when working on the video. The real insult was when he showed footage of GT talking about anime when he was comparing Tokyo and Seoul.
My personal most awaited episode yet
Yay
Really happy I found your channel, I loved social studies and politics in school, but hated doing homework and assignments. Your videos are easily digestible and very entertaining to watch when I’m just playing a video game or just laying down. Thanks for doing this man. It’s very very appreciated.
2:12 The international date line bends, specifically to accommodate for this, so no, they are technically still on the same day.
The two most beautiful states imo
Mos def
No California is the most beautiful, then Utah, then Oregon, Arizona, and then Hawaii and Alaska.
@@stevenmilliman412 I definitely think those states are top notch and CA is top 3. But for me HI is just very unique and Alaska 100% has the most grand/spectacular scenery in the US hands down.
@proud american I mean Yosemite is pretty nice. But overall the other two are better.
@@stevenmilliman412 What about Michigan and Montana
Wow, I always learn so much with these videos. Thank you very much!
I appreciate the kind words!
I want a video about this election, Mr. Beat
PLEASE ^^
Of course
@@iammrbeat yay
Can you make a video about the 2022 senate elections
Oahu has an awesome bus system. I have fond memories of bus lines 71 and 52 which brought me from the military base to malls of Honolulu through Kamehameha highway. There are two lines that even run all day, that's even better than what you can find at 'continental' US.
Line 62 and 60 take you to the North Shore via Kamehameha love that route.
Dat's what us old timers call Ben Cayetano's limo.
You should have mentioned the wacky weather of Kauai. One of the wettest places on earth for rain is in the center of the island at the top of the Waimea Canyon. And down to the bottom 20 miles or less away on Barking Sands you see cacti... Near desert conditions . Hawaii is amazing
Kaua’i is by far my favorite of the Hawai’ian Islands.
Oh man Kauai this island is the best
Yay! I love this series!
Awesome! :D

Yay!
That still makes you a Kama'aina.
i’m born and raised and ethnically hawaiian, but honestly 😭, i wanna go to the mainland
Hey I live in Alaska and I would like to visit Hawai'i. A lot of people I know up here often visit down there when they get the chance. We actually have a lot in common in terms of our history, plus there's an ocean stream right between Hawai'i and Alaska that makes it pretty easy for ships to get down there or up here.
SAME!! actually im more of a local but i'd love to visit alaska!!
This is what we've been waiting for
Hope it was worth the wait!
I had a teacher like you in school. He worked for the state governor for a short time so he was passionate but a little jaded. He made me love american politics and history like you make me love it. And the way you bring other educators in is just great.
I hope these videos never stop man. Thanks for getting me into Newsvoice.
14:13 "Welcome to Alaska, here's a thousand (and a bit) dollars!"
It's nice. Most people I know live in dry cabins, so having some extra cash is nice. It's actually a pretty interesting and beneficial policy, the Permanent Fun Dividend. Basically every Alaskan citizen who signs up for it, gets a share of tax money from oil mining. But, we also don't have very much infrastructure in the state, it would probably be cheaper just to give everyone a grand than to put roads out to every village.
Your videos are always so fun!
Thanks Julian!
I love you Mr. Beat!!! Keep doing whatever your doing ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
Hi Mr.Beat, Here are some compared episodes that would be interesting to see
Virginia vs West Virginia
Russia vs Ukraine
Russia vs Belarus
Germany vs Austria
Australia vs New Zealand
Sudan vs South Sudan
Maine vs Massachusetts
Thank you for taking the time to read this (if you actually do), and I hope you would do them some day.
Edit: here are some more that would be nice to see
USA vs Canada
Brazil vs Argentina
Pakistan vs Bangladesh
Pakistan vs India
North Korea vs South Korea
Great list, but I am thinking about comparing Virginia to Maryland and Massachusetts to Connecticut
@@iammrbeat oh ok. That would still be nice to see. I’m excited for whatever you post.
@@iammrbeat Other suggestion:
Bhutan vs Nepal
Amazonas vs Pará (the two bigger states in the North of Brazil, in case you want to make other countries states more, I'd also recommend Santa Cruz vs La Paz, now with the Bolivian elections and all)
Romania vs Hungary
One with any of the Maritimes provinces of Canada would be nice too
Also one with two Central American Countries would be nice aswell
This one was a great video, thanks and keep up the good work.

Resident living on Maui here! This video was really good! (Except for some pronunciations) this video was really well done! Mahalo! 🤙🏽
Thanks Mr. Beat, this was a very good video. I'm an Alaskan resident that was born and raised here and I could tell you've done some good research on my state. The only feedback I have is that I wish you were able to put more coverage on the Alaskan tribes during Russian colonization, as some pretty interesting stuff happened, such as my tribe, the Tlingit tribe being able to fight the Russians out of southeast Alaska for about two years. It was done by the warrior Katlian. It's a pretty major part of our history.
Russia is thousands of miles from Alaska, so the storyline is the same most anywhere, it's got a huge leak.
when you said Alaskans pay the lowest taxes in the country i immediately packed my bags
lol I figured you'd dig it. Watch out, though. You know what happened when Harding went up there.
@@iammrbeat i was actually expecting texas to have the lowest taxes.
Look up the crime rate
So, um, lack of taxes does not mean more money...did you not hear the part where he said they are some of the most expensive places to live in this country? He's not lying...It can cost $4k a month to rent a place...even is it's an apt.
@@bakende1103 of course its gonna cost more. its not even connected to the continental US. other places with very low cost of living and low taxes include Tennessee, Texes and others with no income tax.

Hawaiian vowels are practically identical to Spanish
A - ah
E - eh
I - ee
O - oh
U - oo
Also the only consonant that is different from English is the “W”
It can sound like a W or a V. (It depends on the local norms, but you can pronounce it either way and people will understand

Let’s be honest here, If Alaska qualifies as desirable to live in, it’s for a completely different set of reasons than Hawaii. Reasons like “i needed a mining job” and “I’m running from the law and Montana wasn’t remote enough”
@Hunter Vogel not so much when Mrs grizzly doesn't have any more honey lol 🤣

@Hunter Vogel Unless you live in Anchorage it’s basically Fake Alaska because it’s just a depressing American city with lots of weed and homeless people
I love how most of the Hawaii landscape pics and shots are mostly from the Big Island and Oahu, with some sprinkles of Maui
Alaska and Russia are actually 2.4 miles apart. Big Diomede and Little Diomede.
Yeah I meant mainland. Those islands are fun, too. Tomorrow and Yesterday islands!
Great video! You should compare USA vs Canada
Mr. Beat, your videos are great.
hello, mr beat! hope you are having a nice day! :)
You too!
I just finished my last two states to visit in Sept '21, flying first to the Big Island and Oahu and then up to Anchorage. 6 days in Hawai'i and then 8 in Alaska. Saw as much as we could. My parents met in Alaska and that was always the draw for me to go there, the nostalgia. However, I fell in love with the Big Island. Love the people, the diversity of climate and the lack of being overrun by tourism. Now I need to go back to each and really soak it in...
It's funny how Minnesota is so cold, that Alaska is compared to it....🤣
Yeah lol Alaska still colder but still tho Minnesota is probably the coldest in the lower 48!
@@thefisher612 Alaska is also colder for longer too, its been close to a -20f average in my town for most of the month and we are not even at the cold part of winter :(

Minnesota winters ain't no joke. Manitoba's winters....just don't even bother.
One thing I've noticed about the 3 to 4 hours of horizon high sunlight you get in the winter months in AK, is that my friends from the south almost immediately get depressed and want to fly back to FL until summer. The winters aren't for the faint of heart, but the Iditarod and the winter activities are worth it.
Good and useful video ! I enjoyed watching it !
When my wife and went on our honeymoon to the big island of Hawaii it was quite interesting that one side of the island was classified as a rain forest and the other side a desert. Oh, yeah, and it snows there too!

Alaska's flag easily has the most blue in it.
How about Nevada
@@cowboyjonathan3676 That would be a close second.
Not American but Libya’s flag use to have the most green out any nation in history, seriously it was originally just a plain green flag with nothing else on it. At least until the civil war and overthrew Gaddafi and they added other colors back on the flag and added the Muslim creasent moon.

I am part Hawaiian, born in Hawaii. I lived in Fairbanks in the 80s. I love both states lol.
Great video for sure Mr. Beat! Here are some honorable mentions.
1.) The Diomede Islands. One is owned by The United States of America while the other one is owned by Russia. They are a short distance from each other if not doing the distance the mainland of Alaska and Russia,
2.) While Hawaii has the Pacific Ocean. Alaska has the Pacific Ocean as well as the Artic Ocean.
3.) Hawaii has the only airport in Honolulu that takes you to the Commonwealth Territory of American Samoa.
The only thing I can see both sates having in common is the price to fly into both of them separately. Not the most expensive for America though. Our Commonwealth Territories of American Samoa, Guam, Northern, and/or Mariana Islands top that,
Great suggestions! And thank you. :D
@@iammrbeat You're welcome. When you get to travel to Hawaii, safe travels to you and enjoy. Make sure to get to as many islands as you can. A side the main one with Honolulu. There is so much to see that will be memories for a lifetime.

A valuable life lesson. If the United States comes to your island and asks if they can build a navy base, then it is best to tell them you already gave at the office and slam the door. This is right up there with 'never start a land war in Asia'.
This matchup makes sense, I always wonder who Mr. Beat will put up against states like Maine or Oklahoma. Cant think of of one myself.
New Jersey vs Florida.
