Thank you for creating this wonderful vlog. I also used to watch Traveling with Jono, so wish he still vlogged. I also watch Tom Pemberton UK farmlife. On Tom's vlog he said leaving any comment works better towards a higher pay from UA-cam. So I decided I want to watch all your vlogs and leave comments hoping it helps you get paid better.
Thank you so much Lauralie. I think it just helps our popularity rating with UA-cam so they share our videos further. Jono was one of the first narrowboat vlogs that we started watching before we had our boat.
Love this time of the year on the cut. Water like glass, all the colours of the trees and the leaves falling into the water what an amazing experience to be part of :)
Just loving your journey of life, something I would love to do but unfortunately could never afford too so please keep the videos coming, spend most afternoons watching your journey thanks again
Hi Fran and Rich. Glad you enjoyed the K and A. It was great to talk briefly with you both--and my Sunday dinner was still warm when you left us! Rich, to satisfy your screwdriver envy, check out Aldi next time you pass one! We have now made it up to the Oxford--an interesting and sometimes eventful week on the Thames. Hope our paths cross again in the future. Steve, Caroline, and CHURNET.
We love your video's, they are always so nicely balanced. A couple of other guys who have media backgrounds do great video's, but yours are just as good. The video content and quality is great and the audio superb. Many video's have terrible audio tracks. Keep it up, we love every minute.
Been watching your videos from day one and just wanted to say that the quality and information is great. And how much we have enjoyed your journey so far. Thanks Tim and Claire.
Hi Fran & Rich just a quick comment to say I’m new to the channel one of your episodes came up in my feed (introducing your new home/boat) possibly due to following Crank it .. anyway settled down yesterday and began the archive blitz .. I’m up to episode 30 now in a day and living the content. I’ve had a hell of a 2 years personally and your content took me away down beautiful sunrises and sunsets, a view of England I’ve never seen and the intrigue of on board living so thank you .. late to the party as ever but loving it. Love to you both Andrea .
Sounds like the motor is running smooth. Loved the scalloped lock. I never read instructions unless urged by my grandsons. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Nice one I bet you felt a right plank when that kid got the bridge working lol the dogs look like a lot of fun running about it’s a good life for them ya vids rock Rich Fran Ta
A lovely episode. The review of the canal was good and that was useful information on the drone. Great photography and editing. As always, thanks for sharing your journey.
I’m watching your Vlogs from the start as I seem to be with so many of the others ... been binge watching yours for the past few days... have to say I love the music (not the 80’s vibe rich🤪lol) ... look forward to catching up with the rest of the Vlogs to see your upto day journey 🙏🙏
Hey guys, I was just wondering what that little fan is for on your furnace/fireplace? Also just a suggestion, you can have a magnetic stainless steel used for your chimney top in the future and the other is you can simply screw a very small cable from the pipe to the chimney top so if it’s knocked off or needs to be removed temporarily it’ll dangle by the cable and not fall into the water. I’ve done that many times on houses that I shingled out in the country that had big wind gusts. That way it never became a flying projectile if it was blown off. Anyway another great video and I really love the drone footage. I’m surprised that your remote doesn’t have a video screen to let you see what you’re filming. Which means you’re either very lucky getting the great footage you get or you’re a hell of a pilot for someone new to drones. People don’t realize that they’re not as simple to fly as it looks. But boy does it ever add a great dynamic look to your videos. They just revolutionized filming for hobbyists. I love it and look forward to many many more of your videos. Great entertainment that’s not got action or violence or weapons. I’m hooked on the shear beauty your videos show, the way you guys compliment each other’s lives so well, the laughter(seriously I could listen to Fran laugh all day) and unforced comedy, the portrayal of real people & their real lives with complete honesty, and how you’re not afraid to show the mistakes or goofy fumbles and to laugh at yourselves. I think that’s why a lot of us subscribers love your videos. Oh and of course all while you’re living on a boat. The cool factor! I can personally add jealousy, I’m extremely jealous of you guys. What a fantastic life!
Thank you again for your lovely comment. The fan is an eco fan which has a motor which cuts in when the fan gets hot and then pushes the hot air through the boat. it is brilliant. Thats a good idea about the chimney, we will consider doing that. Rich is the drone expert, so i cant comment, but i agree he is getting better all the time. I'm glad you like the footage and content of our videos without violence....made me laugh Fran x
thanks again for your lovely video, always a pleasure to watch and chill. its nice to her when you do things wrong as well, like Fran saying she kicked the chimney getting on and off the bow. thinking I should move that......but don't.... then the top falls off ..lol. then you move it.also thanks for telling us what little drone you use. its a fab little thing. keep up the good work.. love it.
Hi, Played the vlog again and now it is in cinque. So don't know what happened there. Mind you the ISS was going over our place at the time of watching, so I will put it down to that.lol
I am enjoying your vlogs from the beginning of your journeys during our strict new 3rd wave lockdown in 🇨🇦. Thanks for the entertainment. One question, why are the derelict boats not removed from the canals by the trust. The canal trust has people move on and limit staying times, the derelict boats stay well beyond 48 hours -2 weeks. Just curious, love you both you have created a great UA-cam channel.
Hi lovely video with some lovely autumnal scenes indeed what equipment do you film with? The chimney top looks a real work of art beautifully made! Enjoy the autumnal cruising as long as it lasts! Enjoy! Thanks for bringing us all along with you
Rich and Fran I don't know where you are on the canal or thames but the Annual Draw Down is now in operation on the Thames for the next 3 weeks at Richmond until Nov 18th at least.
Thanks for the video. Just out of curiosity, do you ever use the drone, at the end of a cruising day, to suss out the best mooring spots ahead or to see the best path to the nearest shop or anything like that or is it strictly for video production?
Now there's a thought. Up until now it has been purely ft or video. There have been so many times when we have moored up and then found a perfect spot just around the corner, so maybe you are on to something! Thanks for watching Fran x
Another thought passed by me. Often on canal vlogs you see the tiller person enjoying a beer or a glass of vino whilst cruising. Are there any laws regarding drinking and tillering? I’m going to guess holiday cruisers are going to be the greatest infringers if so?
Not sure there are any laws about drinking behind the tiller - just common sense. People don't realise the canal system is a dangerous place if you're not fully aware.
Hi Mickey thanks for watching. I cant see where any of the video is out of sinc. Video and audio recorded on same device and you're the first to ever comment - Rich.
We have lots and lots to do but have just been enjoying ourselves so far. We are planning on some decorating, a bathroom refurb and change of toilet over the winter and hopefully painting outside in the spring. With a bit of luck there won't be any surprises when we start decorating. One job at a time. Fran x
Hello both, can I ask a question regarding mooring away from built up areas My cycle route the other night took me down a canal towpath just south of Lancaster. A boat had just moored up and the occupants were securing their bikes to a rack at the back. I returned this way a couple of hours later, it was pitch black and eerily quiet. There was no sign of life on board but I knew from before that there were live aboards present. Would you in this situation live in complete darkness or leave some form of outside lights as a comfort blanket or do you think that attracts attention? I can see arguments for both ways. Looking forward to your ideas on this.
I’ve watched this twice, and the only thing I can think of that sounds remotely like commoners is when Rich said that they had moored up near the Cunning Man Pub near Reading, beginning at 21:29.

If. I had someone like you I would buy a narrowboat.
Love this time of the year on the cut. Water like glass, all the colours of the trees and the leaves falling into the water what an amazing experience to be part of :)
It is amazing and Autumn looks so different from the canals. The colours are so vibrant. We are enjoying every minute.
Just loving your journey of life, something I would love to do but unfortunately could never afford too so please keep the videos coming, spend most afternoons watching your journey thanks again

It was great to meet you two. Sorry about barging in on your Sunday lunch.x
Try not to throw your new chimney cowl in the canal Fran 😜 Love your vlogs xx
I haven't learnt my lesson yet. The new torch went in today😐. Thanks for your comment.
Fran x
We loved our time in the K & A. Hope you have a great time on the Thames ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Andrea - 30 episodes wow!! Hope things are better for you now. Love Fran and Rich
Smashing Vlog as usual. I so enjoy going back through your back catalogue.
Yay, thank you!
Sounds like the motor is running smooth. Loved the scalloped lock. I never read instructions unless urged by my grandsons. Thanks for another wonderful video.
I think it may be a man thing.

Lovely stuff again. Thank you :-)
Nice one I bet you felt a right plank when that kid got the bridge working lol the dogs look like a lot of fun running about it’s a good life for them ya vids rock Rich Fran Ta
Thanks for your comment Lee. It is a wonderful life for the dogs. Every day they have a new garden to explore. Good for us too 😊
Another great vlog.
Was great seeing your live videos the inside of your boat looking great with the painted walls keep the good work up and keep the vlogs coming
Gorgeous video, thanks for sharing your life and journey up and down the canals x
Thank you.
Another lovely video to watch....great footage of the Red Kite.....keep them coming....🍷🍷
Thank you Steve and thanks for watching

Hi, if you’re on the Thames, and near Weybridge at any point the river Wey is really beautiful!
A lovely episode. The review of the canal was good and that was useful information on the drone. Great photography and editing. As always, thanks for sharing your journey.
Thank you Sylvia x

Rich you say such hurtful things 😮😂
Great vid as ever guys. Safe journey.

Thanks Ray. The number of times I think I am heading for trouble but do nothing about it. So annoying. At least it made you smile.

Went past you on the Thames on your way to K&A. Seemed ages ago. As a Thames cruiser we don’t do cold weather. Enjoy the rest of the Thames
We are looking forward to winter along with its challenges......as long as we manage to get of the Thames 😊
Hi, Played the vlog again and now it is in cinque. So don't know what happened there. Mind you the ISS was going over our place at the time of watching, so I will put it down to that.lol
How do you manage to stay so calm and devoid of worry ?
I think that comes with this life, usually. We have had plenty of worry in past lives and have learnt not to stress about the small stuff now
hi use a chain to secure to boat or round pipe or secure in place but can use a hook fishing out the canal
From kite to stunt plane, clever.
Make sure you use the OTG cable between controller and monitoring device. Regards AJ

We really don't understand ourselves why these boats are left. We see so many of them which have been left for a long, long time. Such a shame
Hi lovely video with some lovely autumnal scenes indeed what equipment do you film with?
The chimney top looks a real work of art beautifully made!
Enjoy the autumnal cruising as long as it lasts! Enjoy! Thanks for bringing us all along with you
Just catching up after 18 days in Scotland. Are you looking forward to Christmas on the boat?
Another lovely video. Thanks to you both.
Rich and Fran I don't know where you are on the canal or thames but the Annual Draw Down is now in operation on the Thames for the next 3 weeks at Richmond until Nov 18th at least.
Hi Ramsey - thanks for that and thanks for watching.
Hi noticed that you have a Ukelele now that winter is on it's way is Rich going to start Serenading you Fran ready for Xmas
Oh I do hope so! If we get too bored on these long evenings we may get a duet going.😊
Love your video's and we always look forward to the next episode. Are you going to keep cruising during the winter or moor up in a marina?
No Marina for us. We get itchy feet after a few days so we will be cruising right through.
Rich not sure if you read questions as I make my way towards you from the past - what size SD card is supplied with your drone?
It can take up to 64gb 👍
All set for the winter guys?
We're doing our best but it seems that we are never set for anything 😊
Do you know the name of the Scalloped Edge lock.
Thanks Andy.
Hi Andy, I think it's Aldermaston lock

You’ve already said the mushrooms on the roof leak, but do you get any more damp inside the boat
Hi John, we are very lucky there's no damp in the boat.
Great video, did you know your audio is slightly out of cinque.
Hi Mickey thanks for watching. I cant see where any of the video is out of sinc. Video and audio recorded on same device and you're the first to ever comment - Rich.
Hi love you videos, been watching from the start of them just wondering is there much to do to update the boat x
We have lots and lots to do but have just been enjoying ourselves so far. Hello both, can I ask a question regarding mooring away from built up areas
My cycle route the other night took me down a canal towpath just south of Lancaster.
Hi TBC. We don't worry about being in remote areas and never leave lights on when sleeping aboard. Rich
Are you staying in London for winter?
We never intended to stay in London. Just a flying visit then we're heading up north.
Did you get Bob & the rowers to sing "No woman no cry"
Ha ha! 😆
You spend winter cruising?
Yes, we don't have a mooring and prefer to keep moving.
Love the video but can not take the music....very distracting. Sorry. Keep safe.
did you really just refer to people as commoners?
I’ve watched this twice, and the only thing I can think of that sounds remotely like commoners is when Rich said that they had moored up near the Cunning Man Pub near Reading, beginning at 21:29.
