The piano player is humble as fuck...dude is content to play the blocks on "This Old Dog" and then pulls out an incredible piano solo on "Dream From Yesterday". Just brilliant.

I like Mac's very nonchalant and cool exterior. He always seems like he's in a good mood, I would imagine meeting him would be like seeing an old friend again :)
He played a show with some of my friends years ago, he came back and stayed at their place and we all just got drunk and chain smoked. Dude is as chill as he appears, great guy and happy to see him succeeding.
I met him once and it was like that.. Although he was tired but very very cool and personable. I also know Pierce a little and I think I've seen him nap at least once IRL. Very nice guy as well.

Cheryl is such a great host, she gives the best compliments, she doesn't lie just to make the guest feel good, she is honest and she knows a lot about music. I wish more shows had hosts like her!
In the exterior Mac seems like a goofball but after reading the lyrics he writes we all know he's a very emotional person and that's why his music speaks to you in a deep level.
The thing I love most about Mac content is the live stuff. Every couple of weeks there's a new and theyre all different. Mac is the only artist that I can listen to every song they've ever made
FiNITO
I love being able to see these radio shows as well as hear them. We've got Cheryl beaming at Mac, Pierce trying to sleep on the floor, Andy doing his funny faces-everybody in this room is so great.
This is everything I need in a Mac Demarco set. Cheryl Waters, Mac being a lovable goober, groovy toons, and a dude passed out on the floor next to the drums.
I don't know what's going on on your end, but the bass and drums come through beautifully, and the vocals are far louder than the keys. it's not exactly as vocals-centric as the album, but still absolutely within the bounds of clarity, though a little more traditionally 'nice'.
I've seen you in my early 20s, still loving your music now as I'm 32. Hope to see you again and wish it had an intimate or small setting as I saw you before! 💜
Such an amazing performance. The host has such a beautiful personality and the group is just a mix of oddities that help each other shine. It would be hard to see this type of thing anywhere else
I saw them playing live back in August and it was one of the funniest, enjoyable concert, but at the same time he was amazing at singing even if he was probably wasted. It's one i will always remember, so go see him if you have the chance
This KEXP studio and their Engineers man , absolutely Phenomenal the sound output is so well mixed. I even listened to ODESZA and its so good even better than the released album
This missed synth keyboard cue in the beginning, is perfect. That moment showcased the organics of being human, in fluid harmony. Glad that it wasn't edited out.
I fell in love again with this nice version of this old dog. Macie, you are a fucking genius. And Andy, oh Andy, I'm in love with you and your magical fingers.
Went to a Mac concert in 2019 and paid $30 a ticket for 2 of us. 2 weeks later I was sent 2 copies of his new album " Here comes the cowboy" I've been listening to him since around 2017 and I would have paid $100 for each of the tickets! Mac is obviously a very humble guy trying to make a living doing what he loves but doesn't boast about it. I truly appreciate Mac Demarco and love the jams, especially live!
Great! He seems very talented. He handles a lot of musical instruments on his own, great voice and funny too! Great live performance! And a funny start :)
I'm a geezaaa!! From England UK and I really love this what a great live band behind him the big up the drummer rockin the nardware hat (think I may of misspelt that no disrespect 💯 legend) and the guy laying down wtf "well im new to this group but I'm sure I'll find out after reading all the comments, but I've gotta shout out and I write this with great pride and upmost respect I sooo adore Cheryl her voice is like a warm glass of milk also shouts to the whole team they/she deserves the respect that's shown from the bands on so many occasions , they have put bands on the show so early into there careers then they have them back on and you can see the look in her eyes that it means more to her than just a being a radio show host , it's the proud moment she has, you know the same feeling all of us passionate music fans have when they watch a band they love start to achieve some success and there hard work begins to pay off (although some of us 💯percent indie purists like to keep our favourite bands in there little circle pocket's , and neaver let them out or anyone else in! there the indie Illuminati 😂😅😂) and that's so rare in this world in these times of non organic entertainment and its taking over , if these cool little stations get trampled on by 'as they say the big league' ( all the gods forbid) the industry that's full of cut throat paper chasing fuckwits will swallow these cool music fanatics up and spit them out into a sea of auto tune and X factor contestants and Coldplay they have nurtured the indie/ alternative scene since day 1 , but I get the feeling there not going without a fight, these legends will carry this scene through thick and thin as long as there's the cool kids (u know the ones) and guitars ,the music of the past will always influence the future and as long as good music gets passed down it will all mesh into something cool and alternative again, last thing u gotta say America and Canada your killing it at the minute so much great indie coming out , same with Australia the dmas were at this station when they started , big up all you guys ✌️👊👍 it's getting harder and harder for bands of this genre to get played in the UK, there hasent been 2 indie bands in the top 10 since the early 2000s so u can carry that torch (well I'll say look after it after all i only have one two words to say the Beatles😂😅😂 ha ha only kidding ) peace to everyone stay safe have a laugh staying safe and make music not war ✌️💯

Cheryl Waters is the mom of indie music.
LOL
Loooooooool
I adore Cheryl.
Her voice is like warm blanket ❤️
Ty Ty so true
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how great of a host Cheryl Waters is?
Butt Hole yeah she's cool, and been representing indie rock well with her host job these last few years. Whole KEXP crew is cool
damn right
She is honorable woman
She is swell.
fabulous

alec mean!!!
Playing tasteful simple music often requires a lot of restraint and patience and technical sill.
Imagine being at a point in life where you get to sleep in the KEXP studio with Mac DeMarco and Cheryl Waters
Teddy Westside right I was thinking the exact same thing lmao
+
If we are using our imagination here you just want to sleep in the same studio as him? Dude why not be his guitarist or drummer?
Valiant because sleep is better
But who is he? 😴
"alright, you want another? "I sure do" "alright Cheryl, anything for you ;)"
Her face was so cute after he dedicated the song to her.
Pierces reaction to the song being dedicated to him aswell was even more priceless
Sounded like a demon lol

Audio quality is second to none, the best place to hear any music.
Berlin has a wicked live session thing going. It’s called Pink Car Battery Sessions. Audio is similar, just makes it a pleasure to listen to.
KEXP please invite Mild High Club, I'm pretty sure am not the only who's anxious to see them there!
yes please
Yes yes
pleeeeeeeeaseeee KEXP make it happen
Please!
I second this!
Cheryl is such a great host, she gives the best compliments, she doesn't lie just to make the guest feel good, she is honest and she knows a lot about music. I wish more shows had hosts like her!
Not the performance we deserved, but the performance we needed
"are u the old dog"
"sure y not"
ah gotta love mac
Cheryl is so sweet
She really seems like such a nice person. Very warm personality and welcoming eyes.
In the exterior Mac seems like a goofball but after reading the lyrics he writes we all know he's a very emotional person and that's why his music speaks to you in a deep level.
Mac is definitely the best person alive haha
so damn sexy
they are so relaxed I feel like they are about to fall apart at any moment
Andre Royter same hahahaha just like that guy that is done and sleeping on the floor

A big shoutout to Charles Boyle for playing that bass so smooth! What a talented man!
Great Precision bass sound

Joe Truglio ain't too bad on the bass guitar, either
@@magicjackm I'm just imagining Charles now thank you
Crazy he was doing an interview at the time of this session, he must have clones all over the map
LMAOO after Everytime I've watched this video I'm just noticing this comment
Cheryl Waters, ever the sweetest lady, even when Mac compares her to his grandmother. I love that woman.
I come back to this performance at least once every few months. So good.
Here to remind you to watch it again
That bassist is the most Canadian thing i've ever seen.
i quit smoking bud at the beginning of the year and macs music still put me on another level
whoever does the sound and mixing for this show needs a round of applause!
most underrated talents in music are audio engineers
I love being able to see these radio shows as well as hear them. We've got Cheryl beaming at Mac, Pierce trying to sleep on the floor, Andy doing his funny faces-everybody in this room is so great.
This is everything I need in a Mac Demarco set. Cheryl Waters, Mac being a lovable goober, groovy toons, and a dude passed out on the floor next to the drums.
That audio engineer is phenomenal for making it sound this gorgeous. Capturing every sound so well.
He killed it on the vocals when they played One More Love Song
i want to hug mac like in a super intense and meaningful way
He sings sad songs with a smile on his face every time.
And it makes me sad every time.
this old dog has really come into its own as a live performance
By far the best live old dog performance. Andy killed it.
KEXP, can i marry your audio engineer ?
keyboard is too loud
agreed
I don't think so. Most of the music on this record revolves around the keys. It especially sounds great when they do one more love song.
Yes there are lots of keys and what not but it doesn't make the song by itself. The drums, bass, guitar and vocals are equally as important.
I don't know what's going on on your end, but the bass and drums come through beautifully, and the vocals are far louder than the keys. it's not exactly as vocals-centric as the album, but still absolutely within the bounds of clarity, though a little more traditionally 'nice'.
I just had the widest smile for this entire video
One more love song was the most incredible song performed in this set. This version should have been on the record.
mac's gonna be such a good dad one day
and then he has to stop smoking for good! ;)
not if he smokes indoor tho

Cheryl....KEXP....Mac Demarco....it's a trio of all what's good in music.
