- Here's how I solved a leak issue with my 2013 JKU. I had water pooling in my floorboard and leaking from the top of my door. The floorboard leak was solved with some simple foam tape and replacing my Freedom Top foam tape fixed the door issue. This won't fix every leak, but it worked for me. I hope this info helps!
Thank you so much for this.
I’ve been actively asking Jeep owners for their advice about leaks. This is my third Jeep Wrangler, always manual transmission. My 2016 Rubicon leaks profusely.
I removed all carpet and had Line-X sprayed from front to back on the floor. I highly recommend it. No more carpets.
My jeep has been garage kept since I bought it in 2017. I just purchased a project vehicle and I put the jeep in the driveway. Now I’m getting this exact same problem. I’ll be so excited if I can fix the issue with just a little tape.
I just bought my son a 07 Jeep Wrangler last night and I washed it today and I know exactly where the water is coming from.
From either side, if your looking in the wheel well without the line towards the floorboard, there is a cavity that leads directly to that area it floods. Figured this out on my first wash today.
Good info Chris! What brand of light bar is that? Very nice.
Where can I find that adhesive tape you applied ? Thanks
Looks like you have lights in the footwell. Did you add that feature or was it factory? My 2012 JKU is a black hole after dark from the dash down!
Best way is not to go thru the car wash
You mentioned that you replaced the mats, what did you get? Brand, store?
I replaced my carpet with BedRug. I ordered it off of Amazon. I tried cleaning my original carpet and it helped, but it still had a bit of a smell. Hope that helps.
What kit did you use to prevent the tops from leaking?
It was this one: www.extremeterrain.com/crown-automotive-hard-top-seal-kit-0717-jk.html?XTTops-Accessories%7CStoreBrand&T5_Var4=J113485&intl=0&XTW+Wrangler+Vehicle+Medium&dialogtech=ppc&T5_Var2=shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlqqVlrWO7AIVFZJbCh1uAQOHEAQYASABEgJDzvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Are the leaks still happening with the 2020 model?
I have no idea. Mine is a 2013.
jeeps will always leak
No
I owned a 2012 jk...I went through this whole circus act...in time ,the shit show will always return. Selling the jeep was the smartest move.
Junk jeep fiat garbage.
