THANK YUZE ALL and HAVE A GREAT DAY!
I can't thank you enough for publishing the video, it helped me tremendously. You are a wonderful kind person to share your knowledge. Thank you again!!
WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee is the king of cheap DIY repairs!
This is fantastic. I am going to see if this is the same situation for my 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk. I am getting a wet vac full of water from the front driver side well.
I just bought a jeep Cherokee, it’s doing this exact thing! Now I know what the heck! Thanks ❤
Thank you for this video I’ve been having this problem for 2 years and was about to take it to the mechanic and I hate taking my vehicles to the mechanic for small things plus I’m a DYI GUY ALL THE WAY LOL.
Very sample, talking while working instead of sitting telling your life story while someone trying get help, thanks and great job
You got to be kidding me! My dad always told me, "Never buy a #Chrysler." I didn't listen. Every year I go through some mysterious mechanical problem. Who that hell thought that was a great idea at the Chrysler meeting in China?
Thank you for your video.
Great video! This same problem developed about 5 months ago on my '01 grand cherokee and has gotten worse since. I watched this video, pulled down the trim to check it out, and the whole hose fell apart on both sides. I happened to have plastic tubing that I used to fix the problem. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much! I was going insane trying to find put where the water was coming from🙏
Thanks for sharing this video. I followed your instructions and replace this with some rubber hose I had in my basement, have not had an issue since. I am waiting for more rainy days to make sure, but I am quite sure you have helped me resolve an issue that had me baffled. I couldn't understand where the water was coming from, I thought I had left a window slightly opened or the seal of the door was bad, but when I checked the hose at the bottom was cut off and you could see where the water was coming in. Thank God I replaced it before it caused any short circuit in the wires. Thankk you very much.
Glad we could help you. We love saving Money by fixing things ourselves.
There are MANY similar videos talking about this same problem from various Jeep models. Would it seriously cost them that much more money to just use better tubing to begin with?
Wow. We just learned how to get to the plastic tube. We were blowing air or sending a thing peace or tubing down through the top to clear the tub.
Thank you!!! I was having this issue and sure enough mine were broken in 2 places. Just replaced the tubing with vinyl tubing and hopefully next rain my floors will stay dry!
Your welcome.
Great job dude! You are the best explaining in simple ways! :)
Awesome. Boss . You just saved me some green. I've had three wj's. Just gave my last one to my kid. He being 18 fixed it without me. Thank you.
Great video Colin. The same issue has been driving me nuts for weeks, trying to narrow down the cause of a wet floor. Will sort this out myself tomorrow :)
I'm going to try this right now !!!! Hope I don't break my nails !!!
Hurricane Irma died out into a Tropical Storm here in Georgia but it rained for nearly 36 non stop and my passenger's side of my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee had about 3 inches of standing water in the floor board. I did notice a few drips coming from the trim around the sunroof and I thought maybe my drains were clogged. I'll definitely check this out today. I bought the Jeep from up North and all but one window regulator has failed and two brake calipers have also frozen up solid. My dad says the salt up there is hell on vehicles but the undercarriage has very little rust. Thanks for the video!!
no need to apply liquid nail on the bottom since the straw is inside the blue hose. Over fixing will be replacing the whole blue brittle hose which more likely they will break again. I fixed mine it took me two clear vinyl PVC hoses from home depot $8 each to make the repair correct, and two $0.38 clamp for the bottom floor connection. Good temporary solution, or for people that don't have the time to do it properly, but most likely will spend the same amount of time doing straw repairs again.
True statement. One side we did quick and the other side we did like you. Quick side is leaking again. Ugh
@John Kenyo What was the circumference and length of the tubing you purchased, and was it too long or too short when you went to do the repair? I am going to go purchase some tubing this weekend but am super ill from chemo so it would be great to try and skip the measuring part and save some energy if you don't mind replying.
On n end note, I got tired of battling the swamp in my front floor board carpeting so finally cut it out carefully so I could patch it back in after I figured this nightmare out., and someone threw away all my nice OEM sound dampening material and carpet because they didnt know it was out of my truck and drying at my friends shop, so they threw simply threwit away without asking (was a temporary worker they had hired for a day) so now I have to try and find matching rug and the nice thick heavy duty dampener Jeep installed back in the day, not very happy..Anyone know where to find the old school, heavy soft foam? Sure miss how quiet it made everythig and how soft it was underfoot on long drives..
Thanks for being patient with this long read, hope this comment finds all of you and yours doing well.
B.
Thanks for showing the video, I have the same problem with my 2016 Jeep Cherokee and now I know where the water is coming from and how to fix it....
I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee and looking at this video help a lot now I know where it's leaking... Thanks 👍
I can't thank you enough for sharing this video, it helped me tremendously. This is the same issue I have with my 2001 Cherokee. Thanks again!!
Great Video . Passenger floor board was soaked on my srt8 , uncovered the carpet and found a broken hose
Glad we could help you. Love the SRT 8
Those straws won't last that long use something better. Better compound material like a black hose from auto parts store. Sun roofs aren't water tight that's the reason for the drain tubes. Lol good video none the less.
Hey thanks for this video, I just got a new windshield and it fixed my passenger side, but my driver's side is damp. I am going to try this and I think it will be the solution! Thanks again, you're the only one out there with this theory for a Jeep WJ.
Your welcome Riley. Once you take off the cover, you will see right away if the plastic drain tube that looks like a big straw is dry rotted and cracked. If it is open the sun roof and pour some water in that side to see what happens.
definitely gave me insight on how water is getting in the drivers floor in jeep commander
EXACTLY what’s happening in my 07 Liberty- THANK YOU!
Great video. Thank you! My problem ended up being the hose being disconnected from the drain on the floorboard. This video def put me on the right track for discovering the problem. Thanks again!
No Prob. Glad we could help you.
Vin, could you talk me through that. I have this issue and no sun roof.
@@smashschool6747 That hose runs down the side trim and exits the Jeep at the back corner of the floor board. So I had to lift up the mats and carpets so I could see that the hose had become disconnected from the exit drain in my Jeep. I patched it up in a similar way using a straw and duct tape.
I bought trim I used silicone I tried the fix on the floor one way valve no joy ...to morrow I'm gonna try this & this looks like a winner
Great video Craig, I’m tackling this job as soon as the weather here in northern ca clears up. I was going to do it differently but was afraid I’d “overfix” as well. Thanks for the video!
No Prob. We hope this is your leak fix. Other than this i would check the door weather strips too. Thanx for the comment.
ColinsClub liked and subbed my friend!
Been having the problem for about a week thanks for the quick fix
Great video man and thanks for the tip. Drivers side door was doing just what you refer to at beginning of the video. Thanks
No prob. Glad i could help.
You are the MAN!!! Im gonna go check my 06 grand Cherokee right now!!! Going crazy trying to figure it out!!!
Thank you❤❤❤
I have a 2016 cherokee and my back seat floor gets wet so I’m gonna try this! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this. I’m almost positive this is the problem I have right now with my 06’ Jeep Liberty
Awesome instructions and humour
Bought an 05 Jeep GC, no sunroof, but front floorboards on driver's & passenger's side soaked after the rain we had yesterday. Found this video. Fingers crossed that this works on my GC! Thank you!!!
We hope it does but with no sunroof I'm not sure. Let us know what it was when you figure it out. Thanx for watching our channel.
So what was the issue?
@@ColinsClub Mine is the same, haven't checked if there are hoses in the frame yet. Thought it could be the roof rack leaking somehow?
Thank you. I'm gonna attempt to fix my own.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INFO YOU SAVED ME A LOT OF TIME, AND MONEY, IF YOU GET NEW TIRE WHEEL SENORS GO FACTORY AFTER MARKET WILL , NOT FIX IDIOT LIGHT ON DASH, NOT COMPARABLE WITH JEEP SOFT WARE
Thanks. Will try this. I'm an overfixer too!
NICE!!!! Colin you saved me from ALOT!! of grey hair Thanks for the post. In fact i have 3 other customers cars with similar issues gotta check this fix for the others.
got a 2008 jeep liberty same side leak in the headliner so i will look into this type of repair
Thanks, I’m glad I found you on UA-cam! I had no idea where the water leak was coming from! Will try and fix ASAP
Thanks very much. I can do this!
I over fix too I love my cars thanks for the video!!!
Thank you so much. My Jeep is driving me crazy.
Exactly happened to me. Thanks alot
THANK YOU! Finally, I can fix this problem.
Great video!! That was exactly the problem we had on our Jeep Grand Cherokee. Problem finally solved ,thanks a lot!!!!!!
thank you! I'm fixing it myself this weekend...
I don't know what was better the video or the slurpee that I had while watching the video! Lol
Thank you very much, that helped me from freking out, thanks
I have the same problem with my 2006 liberty.
Gonna check behind the handle.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hey I have a 06 liberty that just started to leak in the same way! Did this work?
My 2007 grand Cherokee has leaks on passenger front. Will do that this weekend. Thanks.
Most likely this is what it is. Keep us posted. Easy fix.
Funny. First time i owned a jeep. And was boggled by this problem thanx because i was about to take the windsheild out and redo it myself because it was recently replaced and i thought they didnt seal it properly.
I almost did the same
Well done, you solved my problem with 07 commander. Thanks
Glad we could help
Canada here...bingo!...thanks!
Great fix, reminded me of the old man!
Good deal my 08 Commander just started leaking from the A pillar square plug on the driver side and it doesn't start leaking until I drive down the road then it starts leaking from the plug, and I'm betting this is my problem thanks.
Omg, thank you sir.
You're welcome
But when you drive its going to break on the other areas thst are brittle. Wouldnt it be better to look at some of the other videos and go to ace hardware and get the plastic hose and do the whole part and then do the drivers too. Becaise if one is dry rotted, the chances are the other side is need a new hose. I think the back has two also just going backwards.
Very good fix. Thanks so much. Do you have changing plugs. 16 of them.
yo, thank you for the video!
Does this apply to my 2007 jeep grand cherokee? I think I have the same problem. Do you know if it's the same flaw?
Those drain tubes go bad regardless of having a sunroof or not. It's actually leaking from those long rubber seals that run along the roof.
Thank you sir..!!!
gonna try that... it was driving me bananas...
OMG!!! thank youuuuu!!! Will try this asap
Thank you soo much! You just earned a subscriber
Great creative alternative.
Mine does this!
I hope it's the same on Jeep Liberty 2005?
this really helped, thanks!
Thank you brotha
Having trouble getting the pillar off. The entrance way is so narrow I can't get a tool into the hole. (no pun intended)
Thankyou! I'm on it tomorrow!
Use a hose clamp if need be
have 2017 jeep Cherokee and my floor board is wet but my window panel is not leaking. What’s my problem?
Mine was unplugged from bottom for some reason. I plugged it back in poured water threw sunroof and it drain threw the bottom how it should.
Thanks for an easy fix.
thats exactly my issue
I’m having the same issue with an 08 commander, I fixed the blockage at the end of the tube on the drivers side but I still have a ton of water coming in on the floor board... smh
I wish i knew what it was to help you, but I'm lost on this one. Sorry
nice video! and what a nice father too!
I would just go to Lowes or Home depot and get clear vinyl tubing and replace the whole entire length of hose and never have to mess with it again.
Can this be the same issue in a 2006 Jeep Liberty? I also get a huge puddle of water after heavy rain on the passenger side
My is a 2007 jeep commander has a leak on both sides.
Also the wiper in the back stopped working completely. Can you make a video on what to look for on why it stopped working completely and how to fixs it myself. Thank you for making this video and I'm newly to your channel and subscribe. Have a bless day.
Thanx Dominga. The issues you have i have not had to fix those yet. Google those fixes and hopefully another good video will come up to help you out. Thank You Craig
Awesome job!
2010 jeep grand cherokee this is the perfect video help a lot thx
You are a Hero, thank you dawg
I have a new 2019 Cherokee Latitude and the floors especially passenger side getting wet.
Good vid. Only annoying thing are those two screws.
Mine is doing the same but I don't have a sunroof. So ?
Hello. Just wondering. If the driver side is the same way to fix. i have a big water problem on the driver side floor
I can’t seem to get the 7/32 wrench to that screw on the handle. How did you manage??
Do you happen to know the outside diameter of the oem plastic line?
Ricky Pelland 3/16
When about if it leaks down that not reachable
Great, thanks.
In my case these tubes are OK, none could figure out how water appears insidebat the driver's side😢
What if I don't have a sunroof?
Thanks 😊
