Still play the game and still do. I can wreck him as certain characters like Rapheal and Taki but others I get destroyed.

He really isn't that hard, even if he guard crushes you can usually recover before he gets another attack off unless it's the shield, then you do this thing called side-stepping and half his attacks miss you.

@@noxsdelerius8326 oh i don't remember how long it took to unlock everything. I know i still missed certain cutscenes or possibly special characters. Didn't rely heavily on guides back then so i tried exploring every possible outcome. But i just enjoyed playing the game.

This game had the best looking stages in my opinion.
The final stage is just immersive. i always felt like a badass fighting while meteors crash overhead

To be honest, I never took to the PS2 as a console. I got a free copy of Tekken Tag Tournament on PS2 for subscribing to Official Playstation Magazine UK but never thought to check out the PS2 Soul Calibers or Streetfighters etc. The Mortal Kombat PS2 games were shite and its Tenchu games were garbage so I ended up going back to my trusty Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, Tomb Raider 1 and the training levels on the PS1 Spider-Man 2. Oh, and Exhumed (Powerslave). Not that the PS3 does anything for me either apart from play Blu-rays. Oh, well.

Soul Caliber 4 awesome, ( not as good as 3) soul caliber 5 needs to be killed with fire. Soul caliber 6 looks to be as good as 3(we shall see)

robotcop at least Gerald fits into the game relatively well, compared to the Walking Dead guest star in Tekken. Namco has always been bad at guest characters, in my opinion, Ezios in IV and Gerald in VI is already their best achievement.
Akeem McAfee 5’s character customization is the best though, which 6 will improve upon. But I loved the creativity in 3.

This still my favorite soul calibur along with the first back on dreamcast. IV was alright and I hated V. I'm hoping VI holds up and can bring back what made this series great.

Ali I actually never got to play the third one. I’ve played a bit of SC 4, but all of my time went to the second one for GameCube. Those were the days...
Ali and my game wouldn’t save any data for some reason so I legit had to keep my GameCube on for days straight to unlock all the characters, only to have the power go out and the progress being gone.
Yesssss!! I fully agree, SC2 is all that I played along with 4, and 5 somewhat! I actually never got to play the 3rd one either - exactly why I have NO idea about this. LOL! XD I did watch a ton of SC3 gameplay, just never came across this. Oddly enough, SC2 gave my gamecube issues too.

WTF? I played the hell out of Soul Calibur 3 to unlock everyone, beaten the various bosses, still have my copy of the game to this day, yet never once seen any Colossi.

Cool, this is definitely my favorite Soulcalibur, and I am so happy to be able to play even now. This was the Smash Ultimate of Soul Calibur, as it had every character in the franchise plus a lot of new additions, character creation and a lot of content.

@@Fuceril it does have all of them, guest characters (including Necrid) and post SC3 characters do not count.
Also, Edgemaster and Charade (who is actually there) do not count either as they are mimics and the game has a mimic with Olcadan.

MASTER KAI 4&5 were the worst of the series
God this is the many reasons why I wanted a HD version of this game and this game kind of got me into renting God of War II and pretty soon played all the God of War games on ps2 and psp then again in HD for PS3. Really loved III and the new one for PS4 is a huge change up.

The focus is on graphics appearance and environment. Then adding downloadable content to “complete” the gaming experience. Lots of developers do this nowadays.

The original on Dreamcast is still the best. Especially if you utilize its vga hd abilities, it still looks amazing.
Yeah but with Soul Caliber III on PS2 you can enable 16:9 widescreen mode which makes a hell of a difference to the scale on a modern TV.
