Holy geezez, this looks like it could be on a major streaming service or Food Network! Well done to you and your whole team for creating something so refined and polished for UA-cam!
Oh wow thank you so much. It takes so much more time and effort to make these episodes and I’m so happy they’re being appreciated 🥰🥰🥰
werent you on tlc asia?
Very much appreciated❤
Being independent is super cool. Don’t have to deal with coorperate
Yes she was on Food Networks, call Marion’s Thailand back in 2013.
Love the fact she highlights the cultural differences of each type of ingredient. Very few ever bring this up and it is definitely what elevates a good dish to something legit.
Loved this longer style of video. You’re spoiling us Marion! 😂
Awesome production values on this Marion and team. I would love you to do a pantry basics and show us all the things in your pantry and freezer so that when we go asian grocery shopping we can stock up. I've made your soy sauce chicken, it was awesome and I could have stuck a straw in that braising liquid/sauce.
I finally found seeds for Thai basil, and will grow some this year. Really excited to have "the real stuff!"
Philadelphia USA here, retired cook I'm trying this menu for my next get together, you are a great teacher! Thank you so much
Yea she's good aye. I'm watching to get inspired before I go to work and cook for the customers
This video was epic, Marion!!🎉 Yes, this is the Marion we were missing!! No need to rush through the instruction-epic editing! Looking forward to more.
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰 It’s wonderful to have such lovely feedback 😃
Longer videos teach so much more and are enjoyable even just as entertainment
My family are in Noosa at the moment and I told them to look out for you! I think you are one of very few people I would fan girl over.
Agreed!
Today I learnt I have a garden of Thai basil and Asian greens other than Bok choy. On the Sunshine Coast. I better get cooking!
OBSESSED w the 30 min ep 🤩🤩🤩
Awww thank you! 😍
Unsure why I haven't seen your channel sooner but I'm here now (to stay). Already looked at your website and will be purchasing your cookbooks and other merch!!! This production quality is outstanding. Thanks for the kitchen and grocery store settings. The grocery store helps make shopping at Asian stores less intimidating. Greatly appreciated.
Love your back to this format, Marion. This video was inspiring!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
I really love your new format Marion, it's give more character and context to your video.
... it* gives* more character
Marion is a bloody legend. Aussie treasure ripping out "autentik" asian food that you can seriously make at home without a rocket wok burner. Would love to see her rip up a CKT commercial street style tho!
That was such an awesome video, love how you explained the different sauces and noodles. You also made me very hungry.
Just love your content. I watch your videos every single day. It calms me lol. I have tried so many of your recipes. My family loves all of the dishes i have made for them using your recipes. I have just made over 100 dumplings to put in my freezer for my kids. Love your dumpling recipes. Thank you for always brightening my days.
Marion: FYI- at most Woolies supermarkets you can get Korean sweet potato noodles- although I’m much smaller packages- I’m assuming Noosa would have them, as I live a few hours from Noosa in a smaller town and we have them!👍🏻
They come in a blue packet!
I love them also- I use them making a cheats korean Japchae and in my Korean style dumplings!🥰🥰
I just cooked these sweet potato glass noodles with my Pad Thai last night, SO GOOD!
I think the brand is Bento 😊
Love your enthusiasm and obvious delight in Asian foods. Learned a few things - always good!
I will have to try your version of your mom’s marry me chicken.😄 The simple explanations with the different soy sauces as a visual was so helpful…and I’m Asian 😂 I’m excited for more up coming videos like this. All the best Marion.💛
Yay! So happy you liked the explainer! 🥰
I appreciate you marion, your voice and words is full of Umami,l can't stop smiling.😊Always sending you love!❤❤❤❤
Sending you love,love,love Marion!❤❤❤❤😊
YASS. It's finally out! I have been waiting for this video.
Love the long-form content🙏🏾 So informative
I am obsessed with Asian markets now because of you. Just loaded up today with some fab stuff. Can’t wait to make these recipes. Thank you Marion 💚
Oh God! I will cook all dishes here in Portugal. These tips are amazing. Thank you Marion 👌😍
Great combination of recipes Marion, can't wait to give them a try. Appreciate the essential ingredients, still would like to know the best brands of each, it's so overwhelming when you go to an Asian market. Like I know Pearl River Bridge for certain products like salted black beans , Panda brand oyster sauce, Pagoda brand for Shao Singh wine, really helps knowing the best so all your hard work pays off.
Great class as always, Thank you, and have a great weekend.❤️👍
I agree. I would love to see the list of products she talked about in this video, recommendations on which brand to buy would help so much.
I appreciate your explanation on the different types of soy sauce. I never really given a thought to the different types of soy sauce and how that affects your dishes.
Ohhhh I do so like you so very much Marion.
Then I like your description of yourself. A little bit Asian, a little bit Australian. Now that’s the Magic that appears in your cooking.
Then I truly love your recipes. They ARE truly MAGICAL!!!
Though I was DEEPLY disappointed to discover our Christchurch NZ, Countdown Supermarket, now under the Woolworths Brand and has been for many months now, simply does NOT STOCK your Meal Kits. Yes I was SO DEEPLY disappointed.
So I manage to make your recipes with a little ingenuity and maybe not perfectly Marion ‘s a little bi5 of Asian and a little bit Australia, mine are now also a little bit Kiwi as well.
Such tasty WONDERFUL food Marion.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my Heart and of course my Stomach as well. I’ve discovered apart from the sauce my Coleslaw and yours are truly country cousins, BUT the sauce takes it from ordinary to AMAZING. Bless your Heart an$ your parents for producing you. My dearest late Mother would have LOVED your recipes that turn food into such a sublime taste treat indeed.
My Carer is wonderful. She’s going to be taking me to an Asian Shop she herself frequents so I can hunt down some of your recommended ingredients. I’m partially disabled and I was 78 last year. Yet I garden in,pots to grow things it’s not easy or too expensive to buy plus ordinary things as well. I’ve a great kitchen stool that I perch on doing my food preparation and cooking. So I consider I’m really VERY lucky indeed.
Thank you SO very MUCH Marion.

Now I need to find something to make with all my little eggplants that I’ve grown. It’s time for them to be picked and shared with my Carer and my daughter.
I shall be scouring your recipes to see if you have your own recipe using little Asian eggplants.
I am inspired now. You never disappoint 😊❤
Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to trying this recipe!!
Great tips, thank you for taking the time 👍.
Much needed!

Hi from Canada 🇨🇦 enjoying your videos!🥳🥰
Awesome video, Marion!! I’m going to have to steal your slaw recipe-we love slaw and are always checking recipes out. I’ve never used edamame, but I’m definitely going to be buying some the next grocery run!
My mum HATES coriander- one of the few things she won’t eat. She doesn’t mind the seeds though. I used to hate it, but then I lived with my Aunt who made salads all the time that were. Also ally half coriander- I got accustomed to it and now I really like it!🤷♀️👍🏻🥰
When is Marion gonna get drunk again? Those are the best episodes
🤣🤣🤣
Love these recipes and the long video style!! ❤

I made your peanut stew and chicken adobe for my freinds last week amazing
I didnt even know soy sauces came in different types😂 you are teaching me so much
Im planning on making these recipes over the next month
Hope you enjoy!
Oh man, that first recipe brings me back to Vietnam more so than Thailand. Almost like a variant of Bun Cha. Definitely will make this in the next few days. :D
Inala is closeby and I go often. Hope I get to see you next time! It's such a gem of a place to shop. Have you visited the Woodridge Global Food Markets too?
Waiting eagerly for a collab with Bong Eats
Watching to see how many staples my Italian self has already! ❤ 👀 😅 Here in Canada we have a place called Nations that stocks all kinds of amazing Asian ingredients, I go there like a kid in a candy store. Even galangal, I always stock up in case of curry emergencies.
Wow. So tasty looking. Thank you from South Africa 🎉. What are those plastic chopping boards doing there? 😮
how would you describe the heat level on the ribs?
would it be medium hot??
would you add chopped chillies if you wanted it hotter, or more siracha
That bowl, all of your pottery is stunning!
Great video Marion! Can I ask where the pink wavy salad bowl is from? Love it! Thank you
Oh I’m so thrilled you like it! Actually it’s part of my own homewares collection 😃 You can find it here cookdinehost.com/collections/resin-serveware/products/maya-resin-salad-bowl-blossom
Hello Marion, I love your videos am currently getting ready to do the three featured dishes, The only ingredient I am not able to find is the coriander root, so what substitute would you recommend? Should I just use the leaves? love your energy and recipes 💌
I hope you enjoy them all Yvonne! If you don’t have the root end, then chop up the stalky part of the coriander. A few leaves in there are fine but aim for more stalks than leaves 😃
You could grow the Thai basil, I'm sure 🙂
Where did you get your mortar & pestle 😍😍😍
could we use Chinese rock sugar instead of while sugar for the soy sauce chicken?
Thai Basil is readily available in the US. Maybe order “plugs” for your garden (the easiest way to grow them, being already started and growing for you)! Or order seeds from the US. All basils start from seed exceptionally easy! A third consideration is to get your hands on a plant and root cuttings in water, super easy peasy! I worked at a garden nursery for several years so I kinda know about these things!
PS, even if you can get your hands on store bought fresh Thai Basil, trim the ends and pop them in water, they will root very quickly if you change the water ever couple of days! No other work is needed outside of planting it! You can easily have Thai Basil at your fingertips any time you need it. It’s pots really well too! Just UA-cam how to prune it to keep it super healthy and it will last you for many years! 🙂🙂🙂
Also, I’d be more than happy to send you seeds! Just let me know!
Just a warning that sending seeds to Australia may be illegal (strict customs/quarantine rules). To other countries, check the receiving end's local laws first. Thai Basil seed is available in Australia, try your major hardware stores or online seed clubs/vendors.
Thai Basil is available in Australia - Marion literally had some in the video 😂 - it's just more available in Thailand. Even if it wasn't I imagine one would import it from Thailand which is on Australia's doorstep, rather than from the US
@@thelibraryismyhappyplace1618 my point was, it’s literally readily available in the US. It NOT hard to find here. She states that it hard to find in Australia. Obviously I saw that she had some in her video. Why be so crass? Have a great day!
Delish! Drooling ,
Where in Brisbane is the market u were at please 😊
Pretty sure it is Inala. It's a great place for shopping and eating!
Where in Brisbane is the market located?* No "at" necessary.
What chefs knife is that you are using Marion?
Please help me find the right brand of Thai chili sauce to buy as I would like to make the Thai Cashew Chicken dish please.
Do you ship to Singapore?
Friends yes food
According to my Malaysian ex- plain old spark makes a good Hokkien noodle substitute!🤷♀️👍🏻🥰
Edit: how did that get a like with the EPIC Autocorrect fail!
I meant “spaghetti I” obviously!
❤🤍💙 all your videos #MARION👍
❤❤❤
I'm STILL trying to source the long, mild, red chilies. What do we call them in the U. S.?🇺🇲
I can't find them in the UK. I can't even find the seeds to grow my own.
I'm back! I had to stop watching because i found out I was allergic to soy. I was heartbroken because I loved making your recipes. I found a replacement for soy sauce. It isn't great but i can use other spices and stuff.
Wow......👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗new subcriber
Oh gosh Marion did you really drive all the way from Noosa to Inala just for Asian Groceries ?? That’s nearly a two hour drive but doesn’t surprise me because you have to go where the Asians like to shop for choice!
♥️♥️♥️
😮
I love you
It's even hard to get chicken thighs with skin on these days!
I have no idea why?! The skin is the best bit!!!
Uncle Roger will be very upset about you using metal tools in the non-stick pan!
I saw more than 10 ads here.
I thought this was going to tell us what pantry staples we needed. 🤔
Negative Nancy here - Asia is a continent with 50 countries (Turkey, Japan, Russia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand etc), it is not a country. All countries in Asia have different cultures and food and different staples.
Africans or Europe pantry staple would also be wrong.
Have you never been to as "Asian" food store? Most where I live are operated by Vietnamese but they sell ingredients from almost all of South-, South-East- and East-Asian countries such as Indian spices, Chinese sauces, Thai herbs, Japanese nori leaves, Korean pastes and whatnot. Yes, most of Turkey and Arabia are also located in Asia, but their cuisine is generally not considered "Asian". And while the different countries' cooking have their distinct differences they also have commonalities that make them different from other continents' cuisine.
I just punched my pillow as I am supposed to be trying to lose weight.😅
