Toyota needs to grow a pair and actually sell these 🙄
Lexus is a luxurious brand made by Toyota.
Why who would buy this? If they want to grow pair they should bring series 70 or hilux.
Or... Here's an idea... You could buy an Lx and do it yourself. All the parts are available. That's really what this concept is for, to show the consumer what's on the aftermarket.
@@NPC-kv7tn Exactly, you can fit everything from a 200 series landcruiser except for front bullbar.
@@zelenizub2036 we dont have 70series or hilux in the US
I really like this Lexus. Toyota makes great vehicles and I appreciate that they continue to make V8 SUVs
12/16 mpg though. And that’s before a lift and all-terrain tires.
@@ChopperChad its a offroad car
Kinda has to be that way
I'm getting 18 with mixed driving, but I don't punch it often.
I think this LX looks great! and very well done. I am glad to see Lexus getting into off-road more seriously since our race program ended in 2014. I do have to say that we built two LX570's to race the SCORE series for 5 years and we spent much less then that on the builds. Here is what we did for mods if interested..
TRD 17″ Rock Warrior Wheels • TRD Brake pads • 110 Watt Kenwood Race Radio • 8 KC Hi Lights 70 Watt Carbon Fiber HIDs • Dual Transmission coolers • SPARCO EVO2 seats • SPARCO steering wheel (custom paddle) • Pelican case for parts • Mastercraft 5 point seat belts/Suspension limit straps • Lowrance 7HD GPS • 46 Gallon custom FuelSafe fuel cell • Dual Magnaflow short exhaust system (no cats)
We utilized all stock suspension parts for instance upper and lower A-arms, bushing and the solid axle 5 link in the rear. All bushings are stock. The only change in suspension are the actual shocks.
King Racing Shocks, and the front runs two King Shocks per wheel. We mounted a 3.5” coilover that passes through the upper mount (cut out) into a higher custom shock mount location that ties into the roll cage. the secondary shock is strictly a 3.5″ triple bypass. At the full droop and full bump, we got almost 15” of usable travel. This is possible with the stock arms, 4WD half shafts, and stock steering components.
As for the rear suspension, we punched through the bed floor, and from eye to eye, the top and bottom shock bolt mount is 47” in length at full droop, with the King Kong 4.5” triple bypass. The rear coils have been removed, and a 2.5” air shock coilover holds up the LX in the rear. The rear suspension also has close to 15” of travel, but does not utilize air bump shocks front or rear due to the stock full class rules.
When it comes to the tuning, we worked closely with with the guys at King Shocks. We really did our homework, and Geiser Bros did their magic on the entire build. We did a lot of static suspension tests with the 37” BFGoodrich KRT race project tries and even added a 2.5” body lift to get more up travel.
The LX570 is absolutely an incredible machine and IMO is unstoppable!
When are we going to see Lexus USA get back into desert racing down in Baja and dominate the production class once again?
:)
Can't wait for the day when Toyota finally goes all in into the US Overlanding/Offroad/Touring market and bring the Hilux(engine) here. 👍🙃
And offers a complete line of related parts and accessories for their 4-wheel drive vehicles -just like what (cough) Jeep does... 🛻
@@seumasmackinlay Exactly! I truly believe the TRD brand will really dominate the market if they want to. I don't understand why not bring the diesel hilux here.
We have the TRD Hilux in the middle east. I think the tacoma trumps it in all respects. Why all the love for the Hilux??
@@saifalhiali91 Actually when I say Hilux, I meant the engine mostly but I agree with you, the Tacoma is a very nice truck. I own a TRD OR 4x4 & I like it. 🙃
The chicken tax still exists on trucks, itsbtoo costly to bring the Hilux over, which is why the Tacoma and Tundra are built in America for America. They are also designed specifically for our market. But I agree that they should put the deisel engines in them.
I know about the LX J201 because of Expedition Overland and their build out for Rachelle’s entry into The Rebelle Rally.
Most of the owners, who can afford this, use it for off roading to Walmart.
So funny👍🤣...or Costco
Most definitely because they need crawl control to go over those speed bumps at the Walmart parking lot.
Not a bad ride to go hunting for sales, don't ya think? 😉
Starbucks off-road warrior.
The people who can afford this probably avoid Walmart.
Quarter mil? hmm... maybe if you paid top dollar to have all those parts installed one by one. I'm guessing that its in the $135-$150k range.
Buy a used one for around 60k and add maybe another 30k in parts and professional install
Yeah I was like quarter mil? I want what he’s smoking
Apart for the supercharging of the engine, which I don't know how much it costs, there's under $30k in modifications, including professional installation.
Yep, doesn’t even have a long travel suspension and those are the big $$$$ upgrades. Even if they went full pre-runner nutz and had a full tube frame built through it the total price point would probably be closer to $180.
@@BaconCruiser A lot of the factory electronics are still embedded in the upgrades, like the parking sensors in the rear bumper. It's something that would be fairly difficult to do and do correctly, even with professional installs. That's where your money is going to go, and could push it toward 200k
I wish they would make this for sale at dealers - I don’t care about the supercharged engine …. But all the off road stuff
I don't have anywhere to park this one at home but I would love one!
The locking diffs, on-board air compressors, suspension and being set up for true off-road tires, is what is impressive. I fully believe you could do this for 175k to 200k though, and if you want to go full portal axles, that would only add another 25k tops.
Love the grill/bumper combo!
this is perfect, the color, the mods, everything about it is awesome, my new dream car
Great content Thanks Roman
Toyota decides to cancel the Land Cruiser in the US with overlanding exploding in popularity 🙄
Unless they're planning on bringing in a US version of their Hilux here as s replacement.. 🤞🙃
Exactly. Dumb move. Sell it as a Lexus at least. Bring in diesels as well.
They need series 70
Yeah but they weren't selling even in the overland boom times. In the last ten years Toyota has sold an average of roughly 3000 a year. Land Cruisers are not great everyday vehicles compared to the much less costly alternatives such as Toyotas on Sequoia. And most buyers looking for a nearly $90,000 SUV are not looking for off road capability. They are looking for gizmos and gadgets and private jet interiors with limousine ride. Also, the Land Cruiser has seen the slow creep of declining capability just like the Defender or the G-Wagon. Yes, they are still capable in their modern form but not anywhere near the vehicles their reputation was built on. But for most buyers the show off and prestige factor, not the capability, is all that matters anyway. And, no shade on you because I don't l know your background but so many online seem to think most people who off road or overland go buy a new ride and start beating the hell out of it. But it's incredibly rare for someone to buy any brand new vehicle and hit the trails. It's usually the second, third or even fourth owner who then modifys and properly uses it. As nostalgic as it may be the Land Cruiser is a non-entity in the U.S. and if Toyota keeps catering to the luxury buyer it won't have enough relevant capability to be worthy of the nameplate in another generation. If, that is, the upcoming generation is even worthy.
@@davep2945 You are right on most of your points. I would never buy a new Land Cruiser. I bought a 2008 GX470 a year ago. But in 10 years, I'd love to buy a 2022 land cruiser, and there won't be one. Thats why I wish Toyota would simplify the Land Cruiser and sell it for less. (Although maybe thats just a 4 runner!)
Glad to see other full size offroaders out there. A real Land Bruiser if there ever was one.
When you say did they do it right you mean the gang at XOverland? They’re the ones who built it for Lexus
"Don't show them the back yet, we''ll save that for the end" lol !
It’s phenomenal. Would buy 10/10. 🥰
Nice concept!!!
It’s Lexus/Toyota embracing aftermarket companies, that’s a win
And again...reported first on TFL. Great work guys and fantastic concept
Nah, this truck has had a few videos out already. TFL is great though
I saw it a few days ago on Donut Media.
Nice rig, love my 80 series and 100 Series (LX) Toyota makes good quality rigs
My dream Toyota
Now I am amazed !
As a 460 owner/overlander, WOW 🤩
Total dream rig. I have the base though, lol! Thanks TFL!
Yes I would buy it in a heart beat. It's built for off roading. Go Toyota 👍
I probably wouldn't buy it, but I might be tempted to BUILD it! Nice job!
The real reason that they did not show the interior was that it is still a 2008 dated with no apple car play.
And someone spilled their grey poupon.
But anyone who knows how outdated the electronics are...add the grom v-line
I wonder if Lexus did this in anticipation of the 300 series not coming to America under a Toyota badge...thinking people wanting Land Cruisers will turn to Lexus.
I would still prefer the Land Cruiser. This build does look nice and is built well, so I would be ok with a truck like that but wouldn't want to pay 135k or so that it would cost to build that. Nice concept, and it really is built close to what a lot of Land Cruiser 200's are like. The wheels and front and rear bumpers fix approach/departure angles a lot.
In Australia 200 Series Landcruisers we do all that plus more and have a diesel V8
Just completed my 2018 GX, just parts was 29k, I completed the labor but factor in 20k at least. Plus purchase price of the vehicle.
It look wonderful. They should build it for the market of people that love to do off-roading stuff. I am just not one of those people, but I do love the look of it.
The parts on this aren't groundbreaking. You could do a build like this yourself now. The reason for this concept is that the Toyota Land Cruiser is being discontinued in the United States.... at least for now
Yeah, kinda a big disappointment.
That looks like something you guys would build.
Amazing!
It drive very nice because we do alignment on it after off road
I’m very happy with my 06 GX470 it’s all Overland
Definitely approve of the wheels, have the same ones on my Disco 4 :)
So good 👍
Two Range Rovers crossed Darien gap in 1972 with stock suspension/wheels, winch, front and rear lockers. Ever since I saw that, I stopped modding (adding weight) to my toyota 4x4 trucks.
But they blew up all the stock diffs. But I agree, stock can be king.
I want this Lexus!
Sick!
If I had the money, I would buy that rig in a heartbeat.
LX and GX are both Land Cruisers, so they are both the best!!
Sequoia is the US land cruiser.
@@chiefdarkhorse7718 Not even close. Not only is it ugly as hell, it’s too large and looks bloated. I’ll take a LC which is made in Japan over that American junk any day.
@@howardraines5799 It may look bad and be worse than a landcruiser, but comeon it's not junk. It's based off the Thundra and that truck is awesome.
@@itsdimitriymedvedyev agreed
@@itsdimitriymedvedyev nah 4runner is the cruiser of usa
Love it
This thing looks sick TFL. Toyota should do like that with Toyota Sequia with supercharged
CBI is a local company. They did a custom 2001 Dakota for me with all the bumpers, sliders etc. Very good quality and they could easily make a Lexus like this for anyone..
How much do you think it would cost?
Without the supercharger
The beauty of the LX for the US market is that they are much easier to come by than the Land Cruiser and most parts and accessories will fit.
That bumper corner step, being with angled corner/edge, if anyone slips, that corner bumper will defiantly cause some damage and hurt... LOL
The intake is facing the correct direction!
The car’s basically got a mirror shine but the engine bay is dirty?
🤔🤨
This is badass!
Approach angle is still trash, why keep the predator mouth grill.
They needed to chop that front bumper quite a bit more, the approach angle sucks and the front end still looks like a mall cruiser not a trail bruiser. I like my metal tech bumper on my GX a 100x more than this low profile baby bumper.
Ohh, I’ve been searching around, I’ll look into it!
Grrrr they need to make this an option, maybe no supercharger but c'mon! that looks fantastic
Gotta love those luxury Rock Crawlers! I could see over 200 k after buying the car fully loaded for +90k Then going to town with CNC'd Aluminum/ Billet Aluminum 4x4 components
Damn y’all had me thinking this thing was coming to market
Now Roman has something to dream about
I love it. Roman, what’s the sticker? I’d say they have roughly $20k (or less) in upgrades.
Too bad they probably won't make one because I was in love. 😍
But they did make ONE. 🤣
you can make one yourself, easy. those are all aftermarket off the shelf parts. Just need $40k or so
Would've liked to see a solid front axle for over $100k but still looks like a very capable off roader.
Can anyone link those boxes on top, integrated into the rack??
would luv to buy one. why not
Love how toyota make multiple varieties of land cruisers
There are 70 series who are super basic with minimum electronics and they are hardcore 4x4 trucks
(My dream truck is double cabin 79 series diesel V6)
Then there are 100 and 200 series land cruisers which are luxurious 4x4 all rounder cruisers
And then there is lexus top of the noth extra luxurious offroader
Yes!
So sweet
Is there any issues leaving the sensors all the way up all the time?
they should sell all the parts so people can do this to their old 570's. Obviously you could get a good fabricator to make most of this and i'm sure various aussie companies already sell a-lot of these parts but be great to have this kit available including the engine upgrades from lexus or toyota.
Jaw dropping 😳😯😲
There should build for market.👌
I remember when over landing was called camping.
Good one!
I feel like they’ll actually make this for the US/North America since the new land cruiser is sold everywhere except in the US and the pricing of a LX is like $5000 more. But this does seem like it would be expensive to add
When are you guys going to test a new bronco 2 or 4 door Sasquatch with the 2.7?
Would probably cost 150ks if they decided to sell it. And people will still love to buy it!
I mean atleast it will last for 15 years+ with regular maintenance... Unlike a range rover or something
Starbucks off-roader.
so dreamy😍
how about a LX 570 or 600 with solid front and rear axles and locking front and rear diff sway bar disconnect
would die for a supercharged Lexus. Sexy! Redo the winch part though. it looks weird
They'll never bring it to market, but it's cool.
pretty much every prado in australia
Yes please. Now I just have to wait for those winning lottery numbers to come in. Lol
If they release this I’ll sell my 99 LX and grab one of these
What brand are those wheels ?
Those looking at luxury off roading without the Defender reliability compromise would definitely take this rig
I would like for them to just sell the Australian market Land Cruisers in the US. A new 79 series Troopy or wagon would be sweet.
CBI, KINGS, RCLT HD, MAXXIS 38”, TOTAL CHAOS, BAJA DESIGN
I think Roman said "$250K build" just so he could rake in those sweet sweet UA-cam engagement points when people tell him he's wrong...
I think Roman experienced a brief moment of old-timers when he pulled a quarter million bucks out of the air.
Lexus / Toyota is the only company that can challenge Land Rover in the Luxury offroad market. I'd take a Lexus over a Land Rover if they made them more off road oriented. Give us ground clearance, underbody protection and please for the love of god, give us good approach and departure angles. As much as I love the GX in terms of reliability, it doesn't scratch that itch that I have for what Land Rover is doing. Lexus, are you listening?
what is the platform for this?Is it landcruiser or prado(for those outside the USA)
Land cruiser. The GX is built on the Prado platform.
The tires look much better on that color car with the black out... Idk how you think it would be better flipped the other way
1:30 yes you have massive power at the cost of fuel mileage. Luckily it can carry like 3 20 gallon gas cans
The interior feature a nav system that only uses Entune and the interface looks like Windows 95
My wife needs this suv
That seems nice for show. However, the more I investigate Toyota products, and by-products (like Lexus), it strikes me they are content to "trail" behind the Jeep and Ford lines. As I've mentioned in the comments of other excellent TFL videos, I want to be wrong because I am genuinely curious about giving a Tacoma or Tundra a good run. Roman... Ask me for a picture of my JT (Gladiator).
Ohh nice rig. Yeah it’s a plus, and a minus depending on who you ask.
I wonder if that's Andre behind the Camera .
Good day. Where can I buy a ready-made Lexus 570 off-road. As in the video.
Maybe $40 to $50K worth of upgrades. I saw a SAS Tacoma with 1 ton axles and 40 inch tires for around $125,000 on another UA-cam. I would be shocked if this had a sticker price of $250,000.
Does it come with an oil plantation?
😂
where do I sign....
