“This is the last farewell” For years, they’ve made songs to clap back at haters, so with MIC DROP, it was their last message to the haters. They’ve basically ascended and told the haters, we too far up to react to y’all no more. So hence it says “don’t need to see you no more. This is my last farewell.” They would always let their haters know that they’re on their way up but this time, will be the last.
One big difference from Blackpink and BTS is that Blackpink don’t write any of their songs, so it’s really funny to see BP trying to diss others when they didn’t even write it☠️ But BTS writes and produces all their songs, all members having writing credits and helps with producing music too.
Dirty spoon means poor. BTS came from almost bankrupted and independent label. They were hated and looked down upon because of it. In America we at least have more respect for an artist who came from an independent label verses corporate music giants however the Korean music fans are totally opposite. They admire and support the big labels and look down on the little “people”. Crazy in my opinion because most people in Korea are the “little people”. Unbeknownst to them at that time BTS made their music label the biggest and richest music company in Korea and the company is going worldwide. They now own several Korean music labels, 2 American hip hop labels and as of yesterday they bought the biggest Latin music label. BTS, 1 group did all this.
I’m glad that BTS was able to push through and make a name for themselves. And that is crazy that’s it’s the reverse over there. I would have thought that independent artists were universally loved in a sense.
A 50 year old ARMY here. Yes BTS is the whole package: amazing MV´s, choreos, music, production, and their live performances. On top of all that, they are goofy and good people to the bones. Not a bad song so whatever you choose it will be a blast. Timeless music cause all their old songs could be a hit today. They can sing and dance at max for 2 hours straight.
Hey Retro Quin...enjoyed your first BTS reaction. BTS is the most decorated act in Kpop history. Their record company has a section of the bldg set aside just to display the 800+ awards they've won including some western awards and 4 Grammy nominations. They are currently doing solo efforts because each member has to fulfill the korean mandatory military obligation. So right now 3 are enlisted with the other 4 in various stages of solo promotions b4 enlisting. But trust me these guys have so much content it'll be year or more before u get thru all of it.

They were saying Farewell to the haters (there were Soooo many over the years and they finally said, we don't care anymore what you haters say. We are who we are and proud of it!). Thanks for reacting to BTS. They are still making music, but recently they are doing solo activities until they finish mandatory military (3 of them are enlisted, 4 probably going soon). They have re-signed another contract with their agency and are all talking about coming back in 2025 when their military is finished. They seem to be timing it so there are only a few months between when the last enlist and the first one gets out and they pre-film stuff. Anyway, they have a LOT in their discography because they've been together since June 2013 (well, they made their debut then). Best group ever in my opinion. 3 Rappers, 4 vocalists, and at this point they can all dance well, but there are a few that are the best at it. Also, the vocalists can sometimes rap and the rappers have been singing more lately. I'll leave recommendations for more up to others.
Make certain to watch XCeleste's video on BTS hardships to gain better understanding of all the hate thrown at BTS, particularly in their pre debut, debut and post debut eras. The hatred is still strong unfortunately, as others are envious of their success.
Spoon classes. BTS come from a tiny agency which was almost got bankrupt so they didn’t have as much money to promote BTS like the groups who come from the 3 big companies that rule the industry. So others will look down on BTS, they didn’t have the privilege from belonging to the big 3 companies, they called them dirt spoons (lower class) but with their skill with the mic they can beat several Golden Spoons (higher class). BTS has always done practical effects since 2013, which makes sense why…but their mv are so creative and artistic you wouldn’t miss it. Practical effects was what they were known for back in the day when the trendy thing to do is CG. BP didn’t even exist until a few years later after BTS. The mv that was really different was in late 2018 for the song Idol, which had explosion of color but for the sake of the song’s subject matter but still had physically built sets, by this time their hard work already paid off and reached success (they exploded in the the U.S in 2017). They are global artists, they have been beyond kpop industry for awhile now.
Jhope was referring to their company which used to be a relatively small company almost bankrupt. They were underdogs. Compare to Black Pink who come from one of the big 3 Kpop companies. BTS were nobodies. They didn't have the KPop industry support because they came from a small company. So when they started to win awards, outperform and outsell other groups from the big KPop companies, they got a lot of hate from other fandom and even experienced mistreatment from the industry but especially when they blew up in the west. BTS literally worked hard, poured their blood, sweat and tears and never gave up despite the struggles and hardships the experienced just to get to the top. MIC DROP is a song for their haters... just flexing their achievements. BTS rarely use CGI. They build their sets for the MV. The explosions are real. They even built a two story museum-like for the MV Blood Sweat and Tears and burn places in their FIRE MV. LOL! You can watch the behind the scene. So you will know how they do it. "Spoon theory" is a thing in South Korea. It's about which class you belong to and which chances you have in life. Their label being in debt and having no resources and little connections made them "dirt spoons" and is a major reson why Korean Idol fans are so offended that it is BTS that made it and beat their more privileged (gold spoon) Idols.

Bts been active for 10yrs already and they be continuing as from 2025. In this song they talking about the haters pulling them down since the debut but now that they (BTS) have come so far them haters just have to watch them thrive
Please don't compare BTS to Black Pink. BTS paved the way and set the standard for all of the other current generation of K-pop groups, including Black Pink. If amother group is doing something special, BTS did it first. I appreciated your reaction and look forward to more.

Paving the way simply means make it easier for something to happen or someone to do something, paving the way doesn't mean inventing something. You are not building the road from the scratch, you are just paving a road which is very hard to walk through, making it easier for others to walk behind you. So when we say BTS paved the way, we doesn't mean that BTS invented Kpop or entered the global music market first, we just mean that BTS made it easier for Kpop acts to enter the global music market. Kpop was growing interest before BTS, but it was still very niche thing. Now, however Kpop is part of conversations about pop culture because BTS are mainstream. - It was only after BTS entered the Billboard Charts, when Billboard created charts only for Kpop. - It was only after BTS started winning awards in Western award shows, when Western award shows created Kpop categories. - It was only after BTS won their first American award for Top Social Artist, when Kpop acts opened Twitter accounts, because BTS were nominated for their Twitter engagement. - It was only after BTS debuted in American televisions, when Kpop acts started being invited to American televisions. - It was only after BTS started getting Grammy nominations, when Kpop acts started submitting their songs to the Grammys. - It was only after BTS fandom requested to have their albums on stores like Target, when Kpop acts started selling their albums in stores like Target. - It was only after BTS became the biggest group in the world, when Kpop groups had the opportunity to sign with American labels BTS paved the way because without them, Kpop would have remained niche interest and wouldn't have the global platform they have today. This whole song is addressing their haters. They are saying, “you all have tried for so long to bring us down, but it didn’t work. Don’t even try to apologize to us now that we’re big. This is the last time we are going to give you the dignity of addressing you.” This last part, because over the years they had a few songs calling out their haters specifically. A good example of this is the BTS Cyphers: 1-4 and their song Ddang. But at this point they are dropping the mic on their haters. They have moved past that and the haters can just stew in their own vitriol.

Started training over 12 yrs ago at ages 13-19 They each write and produce their songs. You’re at the tip of the iceberg. If you like bars.. the Rapline, in my opinion is better than many American rappers. Imagine having a group with Tupac, Eminem and Nas on it. BTS is not only the biggest K-Pop group, but they are currently the biggest band on the planet. They have broken so many records, including ones held by the Beatles. They are always dominating the charts worldwide. They cover all genres of music and nobody can sing or dance like them in the industry, especially at the same time. Their choreographies are absolutely amazing. They have been around for over 10 years now and are currently producing solo projects, as each member enlists in the Korean military (which is mandatory for every Korean male). They are all planning a huge comeback as a group when they are all finished with their enlistments in 2025. This band has the biggest fandom, known as Army, in the world and they will continue to dominate. They literally started with nothing and all 7 of them lived together, starting off in one bedroom at their agency's dorm. They have come a long way since then. You should really research the story of BTS and see what they have had to overcome. Their story will shock you.

His name is Yoongi but his stage name in BTS is Suga and his rapper stage name is Agust D. 2 songs I recommend of his which have 2 totally different vibes is the song called Agust D(literally his name) and Amygdala. Amygdala is an emotional and intense song and has a warning before clicking on the video

Yeah I agree with many Armys BTS are beyond Kpop and not for just their music and dancing, they have something very special that I have never come across before. They make me believe their music can heal and they do just that everyday!! My favorite music is metal and rock. I’m not interested in Kpop at all, most Kpop groups are super manufactured and extremely superficial. I only like BTS, because they are like no other Kpop group…. Mainly because they create their own music, they are TRUE artists. Also, their lyrics and message is way deeper than most of the music out there nowadays. BTS is a the best and biggest group of artists nowadays, and it has been for years now. Even as soloists they keep on been on top. Keep on reacting and discovering BTS, you’ll see for yourself why they are already legends. 💜
They usually record the videos in the locations that are seen, they use effects but they don't always use green screen. In this video for example the car in the background was actually blown up behind them while they were dancing and they had to do it in one take trying not to get scared during the explosion.

I'm Senior Army from across the world to you. I have seen many generations of music come through and there are the rare international superstars who are the world's best. As for groups BTS are the single best group I have ever seen, and I mean that sincerely. Brilliant rappers, brilliant singers, brilliant dancers, extraordinarily professional, across many genres, hundreds of songs, they dance difficult complex choreography while singing, no auto tune, no dubbing, and each is a superbly talented musician in their own right. Along the way through their training and through their performing career some of them finished high school, all studied for and gained Bachelors Degrees. They decided to live all together through Covid, and studied for Masters degrees as well as working to lift up everyones' spirits in Korea and worldwide, especially students who were flung into studying from home. 3 are now doing mandatory military training and the other 4 will enter the military in December. The will regroup on completion of their military service in mid 2025. They are exemplary. Please watch Taylor's Guide to BTS.

BTS has broken almost all music records in KPop as a group and as solo artists. And they are well on their way to doing the same on the Western charts where they already hold a few records. Outside of their group releases, 6 of the 7 members released solo album(J Hope- Jack In The Box, RM- Indigo, Jimin- Face, Suga - D Day, V- Layover and Jung Kook- Golden) over the last year with the latest being from Jungkook who currently has 3 songs in the top 5 right now, if I’m not mistaken and just put on a mini concert in Times Square last year which was INSANE. His releases are Seven, 3D, and Standing Next To You(his latest) from his all English albums Golden. There’s a LOT of BTS music and content. And I mean A LOT! The best way to learn about BTS is the very entertaining TAYLOR MARI GUIDE TO THE BANGTAN 7. ... it made 50 minutes seem like 20. This is unlike any other guide because it is an entertaining rags to riches story that actually shows why they are so different from other groups. How they managed to live together for most of the last 10 years and the synergy that made this possible. It gives you a peek at how a culture of excellence is applied to everything they touch and how this is balanced out by 7 naturally hilarious people. BTS pioneered many things that other bands now emulate. Yet with BTS its sincerity shines through. That is why when they were excluded denigrated and they made their own variety show to get in front of people ...that got its own cult following.
Ive always thought that "the last farewell" is more like the second meaning you gave it. Like "we're done giving the haters their 5 minutes of attention"/"NEXT!"😂
It was nice that you acknowledged their choreo...this is actually one of their less complicated ones. If you like the dancing, i would suggest Fire and/or Not Today. Boy group choreos are much more intense that the girl groups, except for the ggs under Hybe, the same parent company as BTS. Their ggs are taught to do more than flap their arms around and twerk.

So many of the early BTS mvs were done with practical effects - real explosions, rooms actually falling apart or closing in, working in wild locations - that it became really frustrating for them to hear critics say it was all "just CGI". (As though realistic-looking CGI is just so easy to do...! But I digress.) They decided to do a huge over the top CGI-filled mv. That's IDOL. Three other good ones for CG and filter effects are DNA, Blood Sweat and Tears, and their collab with Coldplay: My Universe. 4:36-4:42 That's Jimin and Jung Kook in the background behind SUGA. It’s hard to pin down a specific number because it changes so often. Great reaction. You get them. I first watched this MV & heard the song in Sept of 2021, and I was hooked. I’d never heard a song like it before, and I have not heard one quite like it since, either. That’s what they do. They create thoughtful, original & interesting songs, and then they perform them, with killer vocals, great raps & fantastic choreo & dancing. And they do a very wide variety of genres. For an early hype song, I suggest “Not Today,” from Feb 2017. For a relatively recent track that is a fan fave, RUN BTS from June 2022 is another very unique song. It actually does not have a music video- but the dance practice for the song is one of their very best choreo & dancing combos. Enjoy this journey. They deliver like no other group. And their solo works are just as fantastic.💜
What an intro to BTS for you! This was one of the songs that got me hooked to them and I love the fact that you started dissecting the meaning of their lyrics ever so immediately than just looking at their visuals (because that’s the point of them making music : lyrics are their strength as they convey messages and stories through them) if this vibe of the song is your thing, check out Silver Spoon, Idol, Run BTS and they each have their own meaning behind their lyrics as well… If you wanna dive into their lyrics, ugh where do I start! Almost all of their songs have either a specific story/event but their wordplay in Korean is what gets us because it may not make sense to us when we read literal translations to English so if you could get hold of translators who translate the meaning of those wordplays would be great (don’t be surprised but their wordplay and great lyricism is also reflected in their Japanese songs as well)! Alllsssoooo if you were to dive even deeepppeerrrrr, each discography has an era of growth in a boy-to-man life (of how we evolve in our own lives and thoughts from finding love elsewhere to ultimately loving ourselves), where one searches for answers for what life really is or describes their perspective from that time in life, which this is also one of the driving forces to their lyrics. There’s also a parallel universe through these eras, fictional characters of them, where a group of friends who met in school and each of them leads a different lifestyle outside of school life and decisions they make affects the timeline. It’s called the BTS Universe and that itself is another immersive rabbit hole to get into. Oh my gosh I don’t know where I’m going with this but yes, thank you for appreciating their lyrics! I think j-hope means that he wasn't born with a "silver spoon in his mouth" - he wasn't born with privileges but has worked his way up to a golden spoon with his rap and dance skills.
Actually that is Korean class culture. It's a question of income. Since BTS came from a label with big debt - upon debut ca. 100 Billion Korean Won/ca. 75 Million USD - (and little connections) the group was considered "dirt spoons" aka. "lower class". This is one of the reasons why so many other Kpop fans still hate them in SK: They are offended that BTS is more successfull than the their more privileged Idol groups (would probably be considered "gold spoons" - not sure much higher class exists in the Idol industry). It's almost impossible to get up into another class in SK (chaebol system): a university degree in a top university like the SKY (top 3 universities in Seoul) may allow for it but not usually.

For years, they’ve made songs to clap back at haters, so with MIC DROP, it was their last message to the haters. They’ve basically ascended and told the haters, we too far up to react to y’all no more. So hence it says “don’t need to see you no more. This is my last farewell.” They would always let their haters know that they’re on their way up but this time, will be the last.

Dirty spoon means poor. BTS came from almost bankrupted and independent label. They were hated and looked down upon because of it. In America we at least have more respect for an artist who came from an independent label verses corporate music giants however the Korean music fans are totally opposite. They admire and support the big labels and look down on the little “people”. Crazy in my opinion because most people in Korea are the “little people”. Unbeknownst to them at that time BTS made their music label the biggest and richest music company in Korea and the company is going worldwide. They now own several Korean music labels, 2 American hip hop labels and as of yesterday they bought the biggest Latin music label. BTS, 1 group did all this.
I’m glad that BTS was able to push through and make a name for themselves. And that is crazy that’s it’s the reverse over there. I would have thought that independent artists were universally loved in a sense.

A 50 year old ARMY here. Yes BTS is the whole package: amazing MV´s, choreos, music, production, and their live performances. On top of all that, they are goofy and good people to the bones. Not a bad song so whatever you choose it will be a blast. Timeless music cause all their old songs could be a hit today. They can sing and dance at max for 2 hours straight.

Their record company has a section of the bldg set aside just to display the 800+ awards they've won including some western awards and 4 Grammy nominations. They are currently doing solo efforts because each member has to fulfill the korean mandatory military obligation. So right now 3 are enlisted with the other 4 in various stages of solo promotions b4 enlisting. But trust me these guys have so much content it'll be year or more before u get thru all of it.

They were saying Farewell to the haters (there were Soooo many over the years and they finally said, we don't care anymore what you haters say. We are who we are and proud of it!). Thanks for reacting to BTS. They are still making music, but recently they are doing solo activities until they finish mandatory military (3 of them are enlisted, 4 probably going soon). They have re-signed another contract with their agency and are all talking about coming back in 2025 when their military is finished. They seem to be timing it so there are only a few months between when the last enlist and the first one gets out and they pre-film stuff. Anyway, they have a LOT in their discography because they've been together since June 2013 (well, they made their debut then). Best group ever in my opinion. 3 Rappers, 4 vocalists, and at this point they can all dance well, but there are a few that are the best at it. Also, the vocalists can sometimes rap and the rappers have been singing more lately. I'll leave recommendations for more up to others.

Spoon classes. BTS come from a tiny agency which was almost got bankrupt so they didn’t have as much money to promote BTS like the groups who come from the 3 big companies that rule the industry. So others will look down on BTS, they didn’t have the privilege from belonging to the big 3 companies, they called them dirt spoons (lower class) but with their skill with the mic they can beat several Golden Spoons (higher class). BTS has always done practical effects since 2013, which makes sense why…but their mv are so creative and artistic you wouldn’t miss it. Practical effects was what they were known for back in the day when the trendy thing to do is CG. BP didn’t even exist until a few years later after BTS. The mv that was really different was in late 2018 for the song Idol, which had explosion of color but for the sake of the song’s subject matter but still had physically built sets, by this time their hard work already paid off and reached success (they exploded in the the U.S in 2017). They are global artists, they have been beyond kpop industry for awhile now.

Jhope was referring to their company which used to be a relatively small company almost bankrupt. They were underdogs. Compare to Black Pink who come from one of the big 3 Kpop companies. BTS were nobodies. They didn't have the KPop industry support because they came from a small company. So when they started to win awards, outperform and outsell other groups from the big KPop companies, they got a lot of hate from other fandom and even experienced mistreatment from the industry but especially when they blew up in the west. BTS literally worked hard, poured their blood, sweat and tears and never gave up despite the struggles and hardships the experienced just to get to the top. MIC DROP is a song for their haters... just flexing their achievements. BTS rarely use CGI. They build their sets for the MV. The explosions are real. They even built a two story museum-like for the MV Blood Sweat and Tears and burn places in their FIRE MV. LOL! You can watch the behind the scene. So you will know how they do it. "Spoon theory" is a thing in South Korea.
It's about which class you belong to and which chances you have in life.
Their label being in debt and having no resources and little connections made them "dirt spoons" and is a major reson why Korean Idol fans are so offended that it is BTS that made it and beat their more privileged (gold spoon) Idols.

Paving the way simply means make it easier for something to happen or someone to do something, paving the way doesn't mean inventing something. You are not building the road from the scratch, you are just paving a road which is very hard to walk through, making it easier for others to walk behind you. So when we say BTS paved the way, we doesn't mean that BTS invented Kpop or entered the global music market first, we just mean that BTS made it easier for Kpop acts to enter the global music market. Kpop was growing interest before BTS, but it was still very niche thing. Now, however Kpop is part of conversations about pop culture because BTS are mainstream.
- It was only after BTS entered the Billboard Charts, when Billboard created charts only for Kpop.
- It was only after BTS started winning awards in Western award shows, when Western award shows created Kpop categories.
- It was only after BTS won their first American award for Top Social Artist, when Kpop acts opened Twitter accounts, because BTS were nominated for their Twitter engagement.
- It was only after BTS debuted in American televisions, when Kpop acts started being invited to American televisions.
- It was only after BTS started getting Grammy nominations, when Kpop acts started submitting their songs to the Grammys.
- It was only after BTS fandom requested to have their albums on stores like Target, when Kpop acts started selling their albums in stores like Target.
- It was only after BTS became the biggest group in the world, when Kpop groups had the opportunity to sign with American labels

This is the last time we are going to give you the dignity of addressing you.” This last part, because over the years they had a few songs calling out their haters specifically. A good example of this is the BTS Cyphers: 1-4 and their song Ddang. But at this point they are dropping the mic on their haters. They have moved past that and the haters can just stew in their own vitriol.

Hello, I am a 53yr old black female and this video is what made me an ARMY. I was sold after seeing this. It's been a whole year and I am still in love with what they do. If you like bars.. the Rapline, in my opinion is better than many American rappers. Imagine having a group with Tupac, Eminem and Nas on it. MAN... this is BTS Rapline and then you add on the Vocal line, then the fact that they kill the choreography WHILE singing live... This is why they are WORLDWIDE Superstars!

They are always dominating the charts worldwide. They cover all genres of music and nobody can sing or dance like them in the industry, especially at the same time. Their choreographies are absolutely amazing. They have been around for over 10 years now and are currently producing solo projects, as each member enlists in the Korean military (which is mandatory for every Korean male). They are all planning a huge comeback as a group when they are all finished with their enlistments in 2025. This band has the biggest fandom, known as Army, in the world and they will continue to dominate. They literally started with nothing and all 7 of them lived together, starting off in one bedroom at their agency's dorm.
They have come a long way since then. You should really research the story of BTS and see what they have had to overcome. Their story will shock you.

I followed BTS since 2014 you can say I was on the late train when discovering them, but each video I have watched made me more and more in Love with them They managed to introduce the world to K-Pop hands down but the ARMY are just as powerful. My favorite music is metal and rock. I’m not interested in Kpop at all, most Kpop groups are super manufactured and extremely superficial. I only like BTS, because they are like no other Kpop group…. Mainly because they create their own music, they are TRUE artists. Also, their lyrics and message is way deeper than most of the music out there nowadays.
BTS is a the best and biggest group of artists nowadays, and it has been for years now. Even as soloists they keep on been on top.

They usually record the videos in the locations that are seen, they use effects but they don't always use green screen. In this video for example the car in the background was actually blown up behind them while they were dancing and they had to do it in one take trying not to get scared during the explosion.

I'm Senior Army from across the world to you. I have seen many generations of music come through and there are the rare international superstars who are the world's best. As for groups BTS are the single best group I have ever seen, and I mean that sincerely. Brilliant rappers, brilliant singers, brilliant dancers, extraordinarily professional, across many genres, hundreds of songs, they dance difficult complex choreography while singing, no auto tune, no dubbing, and each is a superbly talented musician in their own right. Along the way through their training and through their performing career some of them finished high school, all studied for and gained Bachelors Degrees. They decided to live all together through Covid, and studied for Masters degrees as well as working to lift up everyones' spirits in Korea and worldwide, especially students who were flung into studying from home. 3 are now doing mandatory military training and the other 4 will enter the military in December. The will regroup on completion of their military service in mid 2025.
They are exemplary. Please watch Taylor's Guide to BTS.

BTS has broken almost all music records in KPop as a group and as solo artists. And they are well on their way to doing the same on the Western charts where they already hold a few records. Outside of their group releases, 6 of the 7 members released solo album(J Hope- Jack In The Box, RM- Indigo, Jimin- Face, Suga - D Day, V- Layover and Jung Kook- Golden) over the last year with the latest being from Jungkook who currently has 3 songs in the top 5 right now, if I’m not mistaken and just put on a mini concert in Times Square last year which was INSANE. His releases are Seven, 3D, and Standing Next To You(his latest) from his all English albums Golden. There’s a LOT of BTS music and content. And I mean A LOT! I hope you enjoy the journey of discovery as much as I have and continue to do. 💜💜💜👏🏾
Jin also released a mini album called The Astronaut, l know because it is sitting on my shelf with all the other solo releases.

The best way to learn about BTS is the very entertaining TAYLOR MARI GUIDE TO THE BANGTAN 7. ... it made 50 minutes seem like 20. This is unlike any other guide because it is an entertaining rags to riches story that actually shows why they are so different from other groups. How they managed to live together for most of the last 10 years and the synergy that made this possible. It gives you a peek at how a culture of excellence is applied to everything they touch and how this is balanced out by 7 naturally hilarious people. BTS pioneered many things that other bands now emulate. Yet with BTS its sincerity shines through. That is why when they were excluded denigrated and they made their own variety show to get in front of people ...that got its own cult following.

Boy group choreos are much more intense that the girl groups, except for the ggs under Hybe, the same parent company as BTS. Their ggs are taught to do more than flap their arms around and twerk.

So many of the early BTS mvs were done with practical effects - real explosions, rooms actually falling apart or closing in, working in wild locations - that it became really frustrating for them to hear critics say it was all "just CGI". (As though realistic-looking CGI is just so easy to do...! But I digress.) They decided to do a huge over the top CGI-filled mv. That's IDOL. Three other good ones for CG and filter effects are DNA, Blood Sweat and Tears, and their collab with Coldplay: My Universe.

What an intro to BTS for you! This was one of the songs that got me hooked to them and I love the fact that you started dissecting the meaning of their lyrics ever so immediately than just looking at their visuals (because that’s the point of them making music : lyrics are their strength as they convey messages and stories through them) if this vibe of the song is your thing, check out Silver Spoon, Idol, Run BTS and they each have their own meaning behind their lyrics as well… If you wanna dive into their lyrics, ugh where do I start! Almost all of their songs have either a specific story/event but their wordplay in Korean is what gets us because it may not make sense to us when we read literal translations to English so if you could get hold of translators who translate the meaning of those wordplays would be great (don’t be surprised but their wordplay and great lyricism is also reflected in their Japanese songs as well)! Alllsssoooo if you were to dive even deeepppeerrrrr, each discography has an era of growth in a boy-to-man life (of how we evolve in our own lives and thoughts from finding love elsewhere to ultimately loving ourselves), where one searches for answers for what life really is or describes their perspective from that time in life, which this is also one of the driving forces to their lyrics. There’s also a parallel universe through these eras, fictional characters of them, where a group of friends who met in school and each of them leads a different lifestyle outside of school life and decisions they make affects the timeline. It’s called the BTS Universe and that itself is another immersive rabbit hole to get into. Oh my gosh I don’t know where I’m going with this but yes, thank you for appreciating their lyrics! I think j-hope means that he wasn't born with a "silver spoon in his mouth" - he wasn't born with privileges but has worked his way up to a golden spoon with his rap and dance skills.
Actually that is Korean class culture.
It's a question of income.
Since BTS came from a label with big debt - upon debut ca. 100 Billion Korean Won/ca. 75 Million USD - (and little connections) the group was considered "dirt spoons" aka. "lower class".
This is one of the reasons why so many other Kpop fans still hate them in SK:
They are offended that BTS is more successfull than the their more privileged Idol groups (would probably be considered "gold spoons" - not sure much higher class exists in the Idol industry).
It's almost impossible to get up into another class in SK (chaebol system): a university degree in a top university like the SKY (top 3 universities in Seoul) may allow for it but not usually.
