Cuz kpop is not actually Korean pop it’s supposed to be Korean popular music and a lot of ppl don’t know that even kpop fans so that’s why a kpop group always has a rapper and a vocalist it’s how kpop works ur gonna always find a rapper in the group and their music is gonna be with so different concepts every comeback

If you’re into music with positive messages, BTS is right up your alley. It’s way more than “feel good music”. The songs are often deceptively deep whether in their lyrics, their MV concepts, or both. They have entire album series based on the concept of loving yourself. Which not always a “happy” song, but even the heaviest ones have hope/comfort mixed in.

If you watch any interview with all 7 members, as well individually for their solo work, they have always (debuted 6/13/13) had the goal of putting out positive and uplifting music. As others here have said, they have gone against the grain of what is expected of K-pop and K-hip hop Idols and groups. They came from a TINY company that had no clout or funds to promote them, so they grew with their fans, known as ARMY, naturally and in general have grown up together. ARMY is the largest number of fans and are very protective and are extremely proud of the group and members as a whole. To really understand where and how they started, who each member is, who ARMY are, you can get a understanding of how and why ARMY go above and beyond spreading BTS’s message and positivity throughout the world. To do this, I highly recommend watching The Guide to BTS members, The Bangtan 7 documentary. Thank you for reacting to their music with an open mind and heart. 💜

I disagree with the quoted comment. BTS' goal has never been to put out positive and uplifting music. Their goal has always been to put out their truth. If the song ends up being uplifting and lyrics, positive, then so be it. But truth, honesty and rawness has always been BTS' genre, so to speak. Dynamite is one of their few English songs, and while very catchy and popular, it's really only one side of them. @@555Vibes

@@555VibesI agree with the OP. I would suggest The Tiny Desk Concert to start. It includes a stripped-down version of Dynamite performed with a live band, plus two of their most beloved songs, Save Me and Spring Day (known by ARMY as “The Queen” because it has remained in Korean top 100 sales charts for well over 300 consecutive weeks.
Then you may continue with Save Me’s single-shot video. For the Spring Day MV, watching one of the explanation videos either before or after is highly recommended, to discover why it’s believed to be a tribute to the victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy that shook Korea in 2014. To lighten the mood, Save Me’s “sister song” I’m Fine is a good alternative in both rhythm & message.

The best way to allow the fans to recommend songs is to watch the highly entertaining TAYLOR MARI GUIDE TO THE BANGTAN 7. not only is a great introduction and documents their rags to riches tale but it shows snippets of songs from many many genre including for instance Hip Hop, Latin Pop, Ballads, EDM and Soul etc. I have seen reactors complain that their faces hurt from smiling. 💜 BTS have great cinematic quality music videos, great dances, and some of the deepest lyrics in the music industry. There is BTS and then there is the rest. They innovate. The rest follow.

BTS is the biggest band in the world and one of the most successful artists.
They collaborated with a lot of people such as: Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Juice WRLD, Wale, Lauv, Fall Out Boy, Warren G,
Jason Derulo, Erykah Badu, Muni Long, Anderson .Paak, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Becky G, MAX, J.Cole,
NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Desiigner, Coldplay, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, ...(+more)
The group consists of 7 members (including 3 rappers and 4 vocalists) from South Korea.
As a group BTS have a huge amount of songs(300+),
they make music in a lot of different genres and styles (Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, EDM, Latin Pop, Ballad, ...+).
They are all songwriters and music producers, and also each of them has their own solo stuff,
so depending on what kind of music you are interested in, you really have a lot to choose from.
Here are the links to the good introductions, if you want to know more about them and their music:

K-Pop isn't a genre, it's an industry. What most people think of as K-Pop is actually "Idol Music" which may be why you didn't recognize it. As the other ARMYs have said, BTS has a wide variety of genres. Both their group and solo projects are absolutely amazing. If you want a little taste you might want to check out the FESTA 2021ROOM LIVE, they do a medley of a few songs over the years. Their live vocals are stunning. Also, I tend to think of them as a group instead of a "boy band". By the definition they are a boy band, but not in the sense that Backstreet Boys, One Direction and all those others. They're more on level with Coldplay, The Beatles and so one. They're actual artists who put so much into their art. They're groundbreaking, if you get to know them, they'll blow your mind. Also, don't forget to turn on subtitles!

BTS has only 3 songs that are all in English (Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance) although, like most kpop groups/solo artists, they always blend English into their songs. So make sure you turn on the Closed Captions cc for the English subtitles. Welcome to the kpop rabbit hole, it's an entire new universe of musical entertainment. To get a feel for the wide musical range that BTS has please react to their mv's ON Kinetic Manifesto and BLACKSWAN. It's a fun journey, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Thank you for choosing BTS first. This group is all about positivity and have partnered up with various UN projects for a long time. Many ppl say they are their own musical genre because unlike other KPop groups their musical style can not be pigeonholed. Their genres stem from hip-hop to pop, ballad, R&B to even Latin pop, Neo Soul and EDM. All 7 members bring musical talent in spades to the table. All write, produce and while the 3 rappers are the main writers and producers for the group, all have individual solo songs within the group as well as outside (we are currently in the solo era as group activities have halted due to some members doing their mandatory military service) and their own solo work so far has been successful, too. Nr1s on BB charts, critically acclaimed albums, the lot. They all could stand on their own, they are that good.

I don't really agree when you say that Dynamite is just fun, even if the lyrics are not so deep the reason behind the creation of this song is very important.
This is also one of the reasons why I find it a shame that this song is the first introduction to the group.

@@hobiscrapbts I agree with you one hundred percent on that. It came at a time we really needed it but the lyrics in themselves are not multi layered in a complex way. Thanks for pointing it out though because I would not it to sound like I was saying it isn’t important.

BTS is a South Korean boy band consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers.
They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop.
All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them.
BTS started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves.
If you're interested in BTS' other songs, I highly recommend Mic Drop's MV and the live performances. (It's one of their billion-view music video.) And then...
    FIRE
    Blood Sweat & Tears
    On kinetic manifesto film
    Black Swan
    Young forever
    Spring day
    Heartbeat
    Save me→I'm fine→Best of Me
Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo) will be great.
These are pretty different from Butter or permission to dance or Dynamite. (Only these three songs are fully English.)
And, all of their music videos provide English subtitles. :)
Their lyrics are very deep and beautiful.
Or, I think it would be good to follow a story line.
DNA: Joy of fateful love → Fake Love: Realizing that love was a lie → IDOL, The Truth Untold, Epiphany, Answer Love Myself: To love other people completely, you should love yourself first.
These are included in Love Yourself Trilogy.
The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative.
It will also be fun to listen to their albums in order and analyze them. :)
They make a wide variety of genres of music like Hip-hop, Ballad, R&B, pop, EDM, etc. I'm sure there're quite a few of their over 300 songs that suit your taste. :)

If you watch spring day you should also react to Italian army’s explanation video. I also love Airplane part 2 Japanese version. But you would learn a lot just watching their videos in chronological order. With captions on. They were given the freedom to write their own music expressing their own thoughts as they matured very different from groups from larger companies at the time. And training and education is very intense in that industry

BTS is the only one for me. I’ve tried others but its not the same depth and quality. BTS is so much more than a boy band. Their music covers many genres, their backstory is so inspirational and they truly love and stay connected with their fans called Army. If you choose to go down the BTS rabbit hole be prepared to laugh, cry and be amazed at this extraordinary group of super talented and inspiring group. Just as an example, the messages in their music have changed so many lives across multicultural boundaries that they’ve been invited to the White House to speak in 2022 and have spoken at the UN general assembly 3 times. They write and produce most of their albums and have broken countless records set by the likes of the Beatles. I enjoyed seeing your reaction and I hope you start with Taylor’s BTS introduction to Bantan 7 video which will answer most questions and give you a good place to start! Borahae💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

If you found it lifted your sprits then they were successful. The song was for their fans to cheer them up during the pandemic, give them something to dance to while isolated at home. You will find over time, if you go down the rabbit hole, that this is not typical. That is what is go great about BTS, they are many styles and react to what the fans desire, and during the pandemic is was happy and fun.

This all English song was their first Grammy nomination. They now have 5. Two are with Coldplay. They also have 11 American Music Awards including Artist of the Year and 12 record setting Billboard Music Awards.
Only 68 artists in history have debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and BTS holds the record with 6 songs. Two of the BTS members have also debuted at #1 with recent solo releases, Jimin and their main vocalist Jung Kook.
BTS has moved far beyond Kpop and is now a global phenomenon.

Dynamite was the first song I heard with BTS, it kept showing up on my SoMe during lockdown at the perfect time for me (mentally). However, the song that really got me hooked, and that is still one of my absolute favourite and go-to songs is "Life goes on"! It was the song I needed to hear at that particular time (in the middle of the second lockdown) and a song that really reflects and reminded me of the mindset I have and always have had in life - that no matter how dark or challenging life seems, there is always light ahead, so the song has a strong meaning to me, and I think that is the only reason I can say I have a favourite song out of all of their songs, because I really love all their of work!
When I dived into it, they really surprised me with the diversity and message they want to send, and the deep meaning their music has. I love their music, both as a group and their individual work from all seven of them plus they just make me laugh when I see some of the other stuff they do together :D

If you bother to do it.. you will be shocked at their overall talent, their catalog of music,,, the genres they capture and most importantly their actual story from start to finish.. so much of their content online... you should watch a variety of their music... they have youtube videos with over a billion views... pro dancers, singers, rappers ... I'd suggest On (Kinetic manifesto version), Mic Drop (Steve Aoki version), Black Swan, Butter, any of their dance practices, BTS/Coldplay - My Universe, Airplane 2, soooo many great ones... plus their message is clear ... positivity and their fans know as Army are one of the largest worldwide fan bases.

This is one of BTS's most poppy songs BTS started out as a rap hip hop group but evolved into many different genres. Their music genres are hip hop rap pop Latin pop jazz rock Blues ballads EDM and more. Should react to one of the very good guides to BTS compiled and put on UA-cam by BTS ARMY FANS army is a acronym for adorable representative MCs for youth. But their fans rage in age from elementary school age to people in their 80s worldwide. Biggest group in the world since The Beatles. First since The Beatles to have three number one albums in less than one year on billboard. Appointed as ambassadors of the Republic of Korea. Spoke at the United Nations General Assembly three times first time 2018 about their 2017 love yourself project with UNICEF meant to raised funds to protect children and teenagers around the world. Second UN speech in 2020 live from Korea during the pandemic give an encouragement to people globally especially to the youth during the pandemic. 2021 speech at the United Nations first speech in the capacity as diplomat for the Republic of Korea travel to New York City with the president of Korea using their red diplomatic passports. In 2022 invited to the White House to speak with President Biden in their capacity as ambassadors of Korea about the dramatic increase in hate crimes against Asians in the United States at Asian inclusion last day of Asian American heritage month.

All BTS members are between 25 and 30 years old - so they are no longer "boys". Their music includes every genre. "K-pop" can not possibly be comprehended by only listening to a few songs. Dynamite is one of their most popular songs - but it is only one of 300 - and they are all wonderful. It depends on what you like. They rap, sing, dance, act and model. (Jimin and Jungkook are from Busan!) I'd suggest "Not Today" and "ON Kinetic Minifesto" but I especially love "Mic Drop Dance Practice".

You noticed right away that it was upbeat & made you feel happy. This came out during the pandemic and BTS wanted to provide a ‘feel good’ song to lift people’s spirits. It’s one of three of their all English singing songs. The other two came out the following year, in 2021, called Butter and Permission to Dance. These were also meant to lift people up and make you feel good, while the pandemic was still going on.

They have an amazing positive personal vibe with their fans called ARMY. To really appreciate the depth of their talents you can watch how they've matured from teens to their late 20s. First time on your YT channel. Glad you found this; it's fun! BTS recorded this song in 2020 to cheer up their fans during the depths of COVID. If you like straight-up pop songs, perhaps check out BTS's Boy With Luv (Ft. Halsey) or New Jeans "Hype Boy". If you prefer songs with more substance, please check out BTS's Black Swan (what if music no longer resonates with me?) or ON - Kinetic Manifesto (exploring Carl Jung's concepts of ego and shadow) or Spring Day (where they literally are the people who walk away from Omelas) or Mic Drop (Steve Aoki remix - total flex)! I've only heard about 150 of their songs (they have more than 300 including the covers and solos) and love all but one ...

There are a lot of people commenting about BTS here - and there's a lot to say. But get into the music first. They've been on a break while everyone serves in the military... Their solo work (all seven of them have their own solo project) is out now and it's as individual as each member is. I've been following them for over 4 years now, I even started making fan videos with their music, and I've never regretted a minute of it. There's a performance video of them doing "Permission To Dance" (I think) on the grounds of the United Nations after their last speech there. (They've been youth ambassadors for the past 3 or 4 years now) Worth watching! Have fun with this group, there's always something new to see. 🕊😇 💚🌹💜

    Great reaction.
1st - BTS is a group of 7 members, 3 rappers 4 Vocals. They debuted in 2013 and just celebrated 10yrs in June. They lived together since 2011 up until 2020/2021 when they each finally got their own place. I personally believe this allowed them to connect much more with each other and why they are more brothers than just members (band mates). They had a very rough start but fought through blood, sweat and tears to push through a world where they literally had no support. They are proof of what it means to believe and dream. This video is one I go back to because it’s where the impossible became possible: ua-cam.com/video/WH_3LiAKuoA/v-deo.html.
There is a guide to give you a quick background on them and individually. Helps understand them more. ua-cam.com/video/huV_yIdxZPY/v-deo.html.
There is also a video on the hardship: ua-cam.com/video/huV_yIdxZPY/v-deo.html.
Why do I mention this. Because people always assume BTS is so big and it must have been easy so they ignore them. That’s so far from the truth. I personally believe that knowing who they are and what they went through. It allows you to connect even deeper to their songs. Their lyrics make more sense as well. Trust me when I say you won’t regret it.
BTS offers different styles of music but you will love all of them. I was not into rap but now I am. 🤣 I always tell my friends, give them a try but go with your eyes and ears open to listen. Their lyrics are beyond this world. They don’t hold back and they speak truth. It’s how Army started, BTS has always been transparent with their fans and their music is about real stuff. From mental health to self love. Army continues to grow even now that the group is on break due to mandatory military duties. We are counting down to 2025 for when they all come back. At the moment we have 2 already serving, one just announced he has started his paper work to serve. 4 are currently working on solo projects and once completed they too will follow the other brothers.
I hope you give yourself the opportunity to listen to more of their songs. If you want just English they have Butter and Permission to dance. But honestly all their music is out of this world. Oh and their dancing skills are ridiculous. They also have behind the scenes videos, a variety show called RUN BTS - you will be laughing so hard with these, Bon Voyage videos of their trips, In The Soop - staycation videos and so much more.
Sorry I know so much info but I’m Army and love sharing about these amazing men who have brought light into so many individuals.
Oh and we love long video reactions too.
    💜Borahae💜
    💜I purple you💜
*Borahae means to trust the other person until the end and love each other for a long time like purple, the last colour of a rainbow. This word was created by one of the members “V” (Taehyung)

The main thing to remember about K-pop is that it is not a genre in and of itself. K-Pop is a term to identify Korean popular music which encompasses many different genres of music. BTS themselves perform many different genres from hip hop and rap to R&B and ballad and Latin pop and pop music.
Always remember to put subtitles on because while some of their music is completely in English the majority of it is in Korean or a combination of Korean and English.

BTS has broken many records set by MJ, Beatles, etc. They are positive and almost any of the millions of ARMY's (the name of the fans) would tell you how BTS has saved them. The second time, I would turn on the English subtitles...the lyrics are very important and usually have a specific message. It's too hard to do both at the same time, you'll invariably miss something. ..

BTS does so many types of genres. This isn’t their typical music. They did three songs in English during COVID to cheer people up and bring positivity. They are an amazing group that you should learn more about. Just great young men. Taylor’s Guide to BTS is a great place to start. Most of the time you should have cc turned on because their songs will be in Korean and English or Japanese and English. They can be very deep and inspirational. Have fans of all ages (I’m 68), races, nationalities, ethnicities and religions.
Try “Mic Drop” feat Steve Aoki dance practice and mv and LIVE.
“Run BTS” MV, and dance practice and LIVE.
“ON: Kinetic Manifesto” , dance practice and mv and LIVE
    That’s three ideas to start.

It’s always fun to see a reactor react to BTS for the first time. I wonder if you realise what you’re getting into, LOL. ARMYs (their fans) are very protective and have supported them through the hard times. Be prepared to put a little work in to understand their Korean songs. Not all their songs which sound upbeat are what they seem. Use Doolset for the best translations. Two of the band, Jimin and Jungkook, come from Busan. You’ll occasionally hear them use a little Busan satoori. If you choose to accept this mission, (sorry, couldn’t resist), then you are in for a fun ride. Just be aware that they are all gradually entering their military service so they are working solo at the moment. SUGA(aka, Agust D real name Min Yoongi) has just finished a major solo tour and will enter the military soon joining Jin and J-Hope who are already serving. There is a ton of content on UA-cam to keep you going. Have fun.

It's a fun song but it doesn't show their range. I'd recommend Fake Love by BTS (there's an extended version that's more rock of you're into that genre). Thank you so much for your reaction 💜 so KPOP is basically pop, just korean ahah so you have groups (male and female) and solo artists as well. The songs are mostly in korean, but often have english word or sentences mixed in between. Nowadays more and more groups have singers and rappers (which is also the case for BTS), so it creates a unique vibe in the songs that you don't usually have in the States. That is also the reason why some groups do more than just the genre of pop, like BTS, StrayKids, Seventeen and Blackpink (these are just some examples).
    Hope it was helpfull 💜

Welcome to BTS and their fandom, ARMY. The 3 English songs were brought out in the pandemic to cheer ARMY up, Dynamite, make us giggle at their goofiness, Butter, and give us hope as the restrictions started to ease, Permission to Dance. They are not deep and meaningful but did exactly as they intended. The rest of their discography though is very deep. It is a lot to take in as a new reactor trying to watch an MV, listen to the music and read the lyrics but ARMY are happy for you to pause, rematch parts or all over and over. We love long reactions too. I look forward to seeing more reactions and subscribe eith the hope you will. I noticed in your UA-cam bio that you are a military guy. Don't know if anyone has shared with you yet that all 7 members of BTS are entering their mandatory military service. Two of them are currently servicing. So, they've paused their work as a group and are pursuing individual work prior to each of them going in to service. The reason I mention this is because I think it's still something very admirable of them (even though it's mandatory). BTS did not ask for exemption and in fact originally planned to join back in 2020/2021, but the pandemic happened. As you saw in the guide, they've gotten a lot of accolades, even diplomatic immunity and add significant amount to Korea's GDP, yet... they did not demand exemption from military service. Exemptions which are awarded to some athletes and musicians who arguably bring less to Korea's economy than BTS. One last thing, the group will be together again in 2025 which means you have two years to catch up :) There's plenty of content to discover and make it last that long and more.

BTS are the leaders of Korean Music/Asian Music wave. They are so hard working. They are all so overly talented. While other groups look up to BTS as mentors while others purchased their albums from song writers, most of BTS songs have been written and produced by the BTS members. But don't get it twisted, BTS are 7 Chameleons. They can be singing you a love song, tear your heart out with a personal tragedy song and then BURN IT to the ground. They are enlisting in the Korean Military and will be away from MUSIC for about 2 years.

BTS is top tier in everything they do. From humble beginnings to the world wide fame, they kept and continue to keep true to themselves. They are one of the most successful yet humble people out there. They only bring out positivity and are kind-hearted. They think of their fans (ARMYs : Adorable Representative MC For Youth) the most even when winning awards they give credit to us usually saying our ARMY won an award. It's so heartwarming and i never regret following these 7 gentlemen.
They do lots pf different genres of music, but they are rooted in hip hop.
I recommend "Dope", "Spring Day", "Magic Shop", "2,3", "Boy in Luv", Boy with Luv", "Crystal Snow ", "Lights", "Your Eyes Tell", "Autumn Leaves" (called Dead Leaves too), "Make it Right", "IDOL", and "DNA" to begin with. I had never heard of them, so I got really curious about who was able to make such an gigantic record. I usually listen to jazz, funk, blues and some old school rock, so to begin with I thought BTS was quite different to my usual taste. And sure, some of the music is different from what I listen to, but they really do EVERYTHING. I think my mistake was thinking "oh this is what they do", because they still to this day STILL keep expanding and moving the lines of what they as a group and individuals do. But at the heart of all their music and performances is incredible lyrics, deep and impactful meanings, and live performances beyond anything I've ever seen before. I've never been a fan or a stan before in my life - none of my friends are like that too - ... but what really also made me a fan of theirs in also how real, humble and kind they are. They don't act like famous people... they are just kind at their chore, and eventhough they've evolved and developed as people and as artists, they've stayed the same. Really down to earth, funny, chaotic people with a great sense of humor and an healthy and strong emotional intelligence.

Before the members go in for their mandatory military service they have been concentrating on their own individual music, all very successfully. Their last concert together was a free one in Busan, watched by millions all over the world. Brilliantly done by all. Look deeper into their work, they are worth it, you may just be finished watching most of what they have spent over a decade producing by 2025 when they are due to return to us, hopefully hale and hearty. Enjoy.

BTS is such a dynamic group who always strive to put forth positive messages that are meant to heal and inspire change. Dynamite came out during the summer of 2020 and was meant to give people something fun to dance and sing to while we were all locked inside during the pandemic. And I think it achieved that goal! Thank you for reacting to BTS! You’ll get a lot of ARMY giving you suggestions for more BTS, and while I would love for you to react to more, don’t be afraid to react to other K-pop groups as well! There’s a lot of talent coming from Korea and tons of genres to explore! (Though I will always always recommend BTS above all else😅)💜💜

Thanks for reacting for my favorite group. BTS is well known for their deep lyrics that usually talks about mental health, self love, self discovery, politics, social issues, reflects about Life and people.. although the rap line does have few trash songs for haters (they have received a lot of hate and criticism trough their career). Most of their music is very positive and reflective... And you can also find just fun songs too... A little bit of everything
If you want to check out more of their music I suggest you
    - BTS Tiny Desk Home concert
    - BTS Room Festa
    - Black Zwan
    - Fake Love
    - Butter
    - Not today
    - On kinetic manifesto
    - Life goes on
    - Stay Gold
    - Blood sweat & tears
    - Heartbeat
    - Film out
    - Spring day
    - Dope
    - Danger
    - Run BTS dance practice (there is not an official MV but there is a live concert performance)
Regards from a 43 years old BTS fan living in Mexico

There are very solid reasons these guys are the best and biggest in the world. Seven geniuses in one group. They are songwriters, producers, dancers, singers, rappers, all among the top talent in the world. No kidding. One of their rappers just completed a solo world tour that is the most successful of any rapper in history, with the highest selling rap album, highest selling shows and highest selling tour, and other accolades.
Their live performances are even better than albums or videos, as their charisma, stage presence and ability to sing and dance simultaneously is all top class. They are all super versatile and multi-talented. All their albums are concept albums which tell honest and real stories relevant to the stages of their lives at the time, and often include deeply complex and layered wordplay and poetry, visual and dance storytelling in their videos and live performances, and include commentary on important subjects like mental health, socio-political and economic issues, historical and cultural topics, and draw from sources like literature, mythos and religions, philosophy, psychology, visual art, and their own lives, among other things. They started at the rock bottom as industry outsiders and have struggled and suffered their way to the top against all odds, amid massive industry resistance and incredible abuse, in one of the most incredible underdog stories I have ever heard.
This song was a pick me up / love letter to their fans during the pandemic and meant to be light and bright and fun, so no real deep meanings here. It's an anomaly. It's also a dance tribute to Micheal Jackson.
They are a truly once in a lifetime group. If you explore more of their discography, (20 group albums, soon to be 10 solo albums from group members when the next one comes out in September, and many collabs and singles and OSTs) you will see.....

No problem. I’m locked in for your journey. Prepare for continually rising impressions.
People just finding them are often shocked, because they are so astonishingly good but also because they have not heard their music and can’t understand why, when they are so good and are literally the biggest band in the world.
      Industry suppression, that’s why.
Seriously. The industry hates them. They get zero radio play. They are consistently mistreated. Their streams and views are erased in massive amounts. They are constantly attacked, smeared and slandered. Pretty much every award they have won is because of ARMY, not industry recognition. They were all awards we could vote on. We vote like crazy because we are trying to counter the hate and suppression. Below is a video explaining part of the reasons why.
      m.ua-cam.com/video/NwIkdGL_HUE/v-deo.html&pp=ygUqd2h5IHRoZSBtdXNpYyBpbmR1c3RyeSBpcyB0ZXJyaWZpZWQgb2YgYnRz
XCeleste also has a good BTS Hardships video, but remember that it only scratches the surface of all the crap that has gone down over the years. Boracity mag also has a video about how BTS paved the way and succeeded despite the K-Pop industry, not because of it. This is another reason why many ARMY do not like associating BTS with K-Pop.
This group has probably dealt with more hate than anyone, more death threats and slanders and fake rumors and controversies, allegations, and accusations of “plagiarism” - never for music, you cannot begin to argue with their music originality. It was always for stupid stuff like art concepts, outfits, hair colors, etc. The first few years their company could not even afford lawyers to defend them and they just had to take it on the chin. Now, a not inconsiderable amount of their money goes to constant litigation against all this ongoing crap.
People often think that where there is smoke, there must be fire. That’s exactly the point of the constant attacks, as their enemies in the industry try to get anything to stick to them that they can. Not one accusation has ever been true. Even the misogyny charges against War of Hormone and Boy In Love were overblown and had to do with mistranslations of language and culture. Big nothing-burgers. Nevertheless, they took the lesson from that teachable moment and grew as people and artists and became more feminist.

I see that you are getting a lot of suggestions so I’m not going to make song recommendations. What I do recommend is to turn on the cc when you watch BTS mvs. Although their mvs are great their live performances are better. As some have mentioned, all BTS members are involved in writing, composing and producing their songs. BTS songs are about their experiences, perspectives, they are influenced and inspired by classic literature, art, psychology, societal demands and expectations, mental health, and so on. Some of their songs are so deep you need to watch an explanation video. I think you will enjoy their songs and appreciate their talent. I enjoyed your video and thank you for watching BTS.

BTS is a group of 7 members, 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, their discography consists of many musical genres, not just pop. And BTS IS NOT CONSIDERED KPOP because they don't comply with many of the things that the industry includes, for example they compose and produce their own songs and they have a lot of creative freedom, which is not usually something common in kpop. They recently celebrated 10 years as a group, they also have solo careers and currently have solo albums as well, the two youngest members will be releasing their albums this year. If you tell me what kind of music you like, I could make song recommendations according to your musical taste, because believe me they have everything (pop, rock, hiphop, ballads, Latin pop, r&b, jazz, etc.) dynamite is one of the commercial songs, they have like 300 songs + solo works so there's a lot to choose from

This song was released during the pandemic along with two other songs to try to cheer people up. These three are all English songs but most of their music is a mix of English and Korean. Of these 3 Permission to Dance is my fav. But if you want to see a different side I would suggest Fire and Fake Love. Suggestion; if you watch the Korean language songs turn on the subtitles. Their lyrics are an important part of what makes them loved. 💜

Since you like positive music, Permission to Dance is another uplifting song in English...in fact, they performed it after their last speech at the UN.
They have many songs about mental health, struggling, learning to love yourself.

I subscribed to your channel and I am looking forward to seeing more BTS reactions. I am impressed that you took the time to answer the amount of comments that you did. Very few people do that. I don't follow anyone who does not engage with their followers. I sort of figure that if someone can't be bothered to respond back to a heartfelt comment, I can't be bothered to watch their content. Thanks for taking the time to do it. Respect 🙂

    Other recommendations:
Forestella is a crossover group. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is really good. Everyone, including me, says they did Freddie proud.
Mamamoo is an unconventional "girl group". Their vocals are first class. Any song of theirs is great.
Jackson Wang of GOT7 has a solo project that I think sounds old school R&R "Pretty Please". The MV is fire.
Lay from EXO has a project that is visually stunning. "LIT" In Chinese Lit means Lotus. Chinese warriors and dragons.
All of our boys from BTS have solo projects in addition to their group songs. I don't think you'll go wrong exploring all of their MV's. 10 years of songs means there is a Lot to choose from.

This was done to uplift people when Covid was bringing us all down. So it was a pick up for everyone meant to be fun unlike most of their music it's completely in English. They are based in Hip Hop but use whatever genre they feel like and they also love to mix genre's as they see fit.
All 7 members are Song Writers, Composers and Producers each to their own greater/lesser degree. They are 3 Rappers and 4 Vocalists, 2 of the Rappers were part of the Korean underground scene as Rappers and one also as a Producer. The other Rappers was a Street Dancer and J Cole is his Muse and they've worked together.

this is one of the all_english song they did during the pandemic to cheer people up, it is just an introduction and doesn't represent their vast varied discography very well! if you like fun positive music, you'll like Anpanman (check out Citi series performance) based on Japanese anime superhero, they're saying they can't be a major superhero, but like Anpanman who is made of bread and rips off pieces of himself to feed others, they can be a low level superhero and give of themselves to feed others.
