The UNO Amalgam started off as an analogy to an overtopped pizza, and now we've included UNO versions and even a rule that relate to Pizza. It's all come full circle.
The one and only reason you should increase the No Mercy limit is because it prevents all participants from suffering for the entire length of the game.
@@nilpyc307Basically, the youngest player (or really, anybody at the table) is given a “wand”. This crowns them “king”. They get to choose a random person to be “Jester”. A new king is randomly selected every minute. When this happens, the new king also selects a new Jester. The new cards are a King +1 and a Jester +1. King +1 allows the king, regardless of turn order, to select anybody. Jester +1 forces the Jester specifically to draw +1. (The wand is basically just a minute-timer)
I actually love the life system. Not only does it address the grievances people had with the mercy rule, but it also adds a whole new layer of depth to the game. For example, if someone is close to being eliminated, they could choose to lose the life and make a beeline for the finish. I love the strategy this adds.
This chocolate rule 18:04 and Pizza Slice Steel rule 21:00 are fantastic embodiments of the spontaneous nature of the Amalgam! Also how fitting that there is a pizza related rule when you originally compared the Amalgam idea to a really gross pizza with too many toppings in the first place. This is amazingly poetic.
I suspect the reason a lot of people wanted an increase to the mercy limit is because they're sadistic enough to do the "do X or draw 25" meme for their custom cards, but not sadistic enough that they'd want that to be an instant 100% guaranteed game over for the poor sucker who was saddled with the meme card and either failed to or couldn't perform the task.
Personally my take on the mercy rule: the only way to truly know how well/poorly it works is through playtesting, and that can't happen (fully) until the game is done. Calculations and stuff are great, and give us a good baseline to work from, but those are the exact sort of numbers that card games, board games, and video games alike go through rigorous playtesting to tune.

Can't we make our own Amalgam Guy? Just to be there whenever we play the games, like a cross for whenever christians pray. Comes in with the dice, probably 3D printed. *Appease the Uno Gods*
The Uno Amalgam has entered my dreams. I was playing it with a bunch of strangers in a warehouse but it took two hours to set everything up and read the rules so I had to go home before they even started playing. I can only imagine how fun playing the real Amalgam in an abandoned warehouse would be, sigh
I absolutely adore this series, but holy hell, the clarification times are so good. Like, it's so refreshing to see someone making a thing just make the thing they want, public be damned.
There's a problem with the "Recycle" card in Blokus Amalgam: It requires you to remember all the cards you played. Considering how tricky that is to figure out in _normal_ card games, I don't think it's at all feasible here. Especially since you can't use the shortcut of "roughly every X card in the discard pile" due to there being four of those.
Yeah, it should probably just let you grab a card from the discard pile you played it on. It could even be restricted to only grabbing something of the same color.
Easy fix: you only have to remember one card you would want to get back (like a draw card or something) and don’t have to keep track of everything you do. And if you don’t think of anything specific… well, then table agreement should suffice like the last comment reply says
You're totally right. I think a lot of us were blinded by the number of cards, losing sight of what actually matters which is the ratios between the cards, and potentially how that ratio may change over a play session. Combining 50 uno decks into one doesn't make a more vicious game where people are drawing more often, it just means the draw pile is unreasonably tall and the balance of cards being dealt out is weaker (there are more wild cards, a wild card being drawn does not have as much of an effect on the likelihood of someone else having or drawing a wild card, etcetera) However, I feel like the values of 0.42 and 0.85 are a little flawed, since every turn you don't hit someone with a draw card, they effectively draw -1 cards (or, somewhere near there, if they sometimes can't play), so having more draw cards proportionally will also increase the number of cards drawn per turn, and skip cards and some other effects will also have an effect on this count. Really, the best way to determine the card counts of players over the course of the statistically average game is to simulate a metric ton of games and gather stats on them, like card count per player for each round, length of the game in rounds, perhaps number of players if that could have an effect... Although it would not be trivial to simulate the amalgam.
A couple ideas: - you should definitely make sure there's at least one wild card in the finished deck for this project that's just a plain, empty, boring old wild card. You gotta have one of those to represent the original uno game - the d10 should have some indicator on the faces to indicate which way to rotate next in order to go up by 1, that way players won't be stuck looking for it for a while each time they have to rotate. Something simple like a little triangle next to the edge with the next number would probably work fine, although you could also orient the numbers on the faces so that the next face in the sequence is always the one above/ below them (or do both)
I feel like the mercy rule just limits how insane things can get. I'm pretty sure I've gone over 25 in Flip multiple times, but I always had fun whenever I played.
Loving this project so far! Brief clarification suggestion for the "launch" mechanic: Make the "kicker" reveal the card they are about to launch to all other players before kicking it. Just so everyone has an equal opportunity to see what that card was that is/isn't going into the goalpost's hand.
I think the commentors were more worried about _burst_ draw, which is both significantly less likely in the Amalgam and also the exact reason the Mercy Rule exists in the first place. However, there are other rules in the amalgam that might lead to an instant loss via Mercy Rule - how do you determine who gets credit for the "kill" if someone loses to, for example, the Tippo rule?
I really like how you went about handling UNO Flip! That’s a surprisingly simple and fitting solution, and I’m kinda surprised you came up with it because I personally haven’t heard of or even thought about paper football since 5th grade. Happy to see the UNO Flip 2009 representation, and even happier that it fits seamlessly with the rest of the game without adding any additional BUGs. Rip the UNO Guy™ though, he will go down in history as the silly little Guy™ with one of the silliest and most pointless purposes in UNO history. Thanks for all your hard work, it’s always cool to see what obscure and unusual UNO versions I’ve never heard of are out there and see how you manage to fit its mechanics into a single game in a cohesive manner. I can’t even begin to imagine how complicated it is, and how so many of us giving suggestions can make things even more confusing, even if some suggestions can be helpful. You’re doing something amazing and revolutionary here, and I respect your dedication, passion, and patience. I can’t wait to see it all come together in a playable form one day! Side note, I find thinking about the concept of an UNO Amalgam where none of the BUGs are removed and you have to use them all at the same time to be hilarious, it gives me a mental image of 6 people sitting around a big table with basically an entire theme park in the middle of the table. The Amalgam you’re creating is infinitely more cost-effective, accessible and likely more enjoyable overall, but a version where every single physical mechanic is kept would be a unique experiment in absolute masochism and patience testing.
Wow! Thank you for your support! That’s so nice to hear! ♥️ As for that idea, hey, if you happen to have every bug already, by all means use them. That sounds chaotic as heck. 😂
a few uno games that change the game enough that they should be added sooner rather than later: Uno Ultimate Marvel (Each player gets their own deck, rather than a single central one) Uno Master (Turns now have a time limit) Uno Flash (Turn order is now random)
This reminds me of Uno all house rules that I played once where we just played Uno with literally every single house rule we could find. It was so much fun. Games ended in like 3 turns and it turned into a weird variation of rummy.
Just something to point out with the no mercy hand size rule, if both sides of an uno amalgam card have the same weight, technically you should be counting each drawn card as 2 drawn cards, as you are drawing 2 card faces with each drawn card (and with no primary and secondary side it is possible to get all draw cards on the active side all at the same time, even if unlikely), however even using this math the cards drawn per turn is only ever so slightly more in the amalgam than in no mercy (0.91), so with this I think the current hand size of 25 is absolutely fine, especially considering that its way easier to get rid of cards in the amalgam
@@MagicGonads exactly, it counts as one card, so the number of cards used in the math should be half of the total number of faces, or you could count the faces twice like I did, either way works
The only worthwhile note I have about the "no mercy card limit" is that One should keep in mind not just the average number of cards drawn, but the most cards you could draw and how many cards you would have on average during that event. Basically since there are draw 10s, if the average deck was around 10 to 15 cards, then that's a very dangerous size to play around. But there are very few of those cards, you would have to have that many cards, and as you mentioned there are a lot of discard opportunities Ultimately this is all just speculation anyways lmao, but from the best guess in game design it seems like it'll probably be fine It's really just something that would have to be ironed out in a playtest, speculating too much now isn't really worth the time One of the hard lessons I've gotten from game design lol Some things are just better left for play testing
I forgot what it was called, but the mini-pile mechanic from uno party combined with the mercy rule could be a devastating combination. I think this video fixes that with the lives system.
I had an idea for what could be done about the absolutely massive amount of rules the amalgam will have, specifically we take one from the books of trading card games, where the relevant rules for the card are written on the card itself. This would significantly reduce the space on the card for art and symbols, but it would make playing the game a lot faster, and probably funnier too because it makes you look like a gigantic nerd.
@@the_lucky_loser Or the popcorn, or the jellybeans! Or it could be to the series spanning pizza analogy, or even the various fast-food themed Unos... Endless possibilities
UpUpDownDown is basically a subsidiary of WWE since it was mainly created by a WWE wrestler, and since WWE and Mattel have a long standing working relationship that's the most likely way the UpUpDownDown Uno version was created.
I definitely respect you not wanting to change the mercy rule. And if it really gets to be bothersome people can play how they want when the time comes. The only reason I think it's rough is that in games with draw stacking you can pretty easily run into +8-12 draw stacks, the higher end of which is already half of the cards needed for the mercy rule. As someone who plays a fair amount of the PC release with friends, I'd have said 30 cards just for a little extra breathing room but it's not that bad. Especially with the life card. Brilliant.
I had the same thought about considering the average hand size & the probability distribution for elimination by (potentially stacked) draw cards (with potentially high numbers). The average draw per turn can be low, but if players sit on their powerful draw cards, stacking means potential elimination in one turn, with no chance for the drawing player to discard.
YES! Premiers in two days~~ What a great title and thumbnail, they really bring up a feeling of unhinged desire, questioning something we all have to do (eat food) while at the same time putting a twist on it. With this unexpectedness followed by a concluding point "We Have Uno At Home" it acts upon the potential audience's will against eating stiff paper and makes them want to know more. Visually, the fork acts as a visual pathway to direct eyes to the bright red splash of color on the Uno card; something which should most definitely not be put in one's mouth. A combination of visual interest and a well-selected title leads me to an assumption of the type of video it will be I'm watching. Having seen the previous ones it matches the style well. Congrats and may the premiere be epic. P.S. Yes I'm doing a lot of visual analysis in art school, and just had to put it into useful, intentional, real life practice :D :D
It genuinely made me happy to read this analysis of my thumbnail. 😄 I was an art student myself once so I can relate! And you’re totally accurate with the analysis as well! Glad you’re here!
perhaps, the thing i missed was the point to create the ultimate game of UNO Anyway, jokes aside, I've been with the series from the very beginning. can't wait for 10 more unos for the amalgam.
@@MassacresMansionYou're welcome! And I love board games, game design, and despite uno not really being in the wheelhouse of games I enjoy I have a bit of a guilty pleasure fascination with the game so I'm super excited to see how this series goes!
I think the only real way to solve the mercy rule conundrum is to play enough games, as while math can help, in a game as utterly chaotic as this statistic probabilities go out the window lol. Honestly I have no clue which is better, and since you made the game and I think you mentioned you play it with friends, I’m gonna side with you. All that matters is the feel of the game and how fun it is, so I’ll trust your judgment!
It would also be cool if the flip symbol also flipped the life card back over, like if you had 1 extra life and a flip was played, then you would be down to your last life and vice Versa
I like that they clearly put two spheres on top of each other in some 3D animation program for the logo of Boom-O, and then rendered it with like the default renderer
this project so far is just so funny to think about being a reality, but i feel like playing this would be alot of fun. (if i get into a party with this thing, this might actually become so much more fun and chaotic to play.) but i might have to take off some cards that require you to do physical things, and ones that makes you act like something that you are not, or having to loudly yell you're cards. hopefully this will get (somehow) finished before christmas, to replace the uno show em no mercy to this. also seeing you're channel explode because of this series is pretty cool, hopefully it wouldn't take too long to release.

Before anything thing else, I would LOVE to purpose adding Uno Big Bang Theory into this--I want to see the 'Soft Kitty' mechanic. I hope that, after Uno Amalgam, he will cover other games in Amalgam form: *This may be extreme, but I would like to see a Monopoly Amalgam. Thanks to the "U-build" edition, it could literally include every property ever. *Yahtzee Amalgam (aka the 'ultimate dice set') *Clue Amalgam (what if new characters are added from the video games, movie, and tv show [although copyright may be VERY difficult]) *Jenga Amalgam (seems almost completely redundant; but there are so many strange official versions)
The year is 2026. Uno Amalgam part 183 is released. There are 2 thousand cards and MM still doesn't know how many more versions of uno there will be, just that he still intends to sell the card decks when he's finally finished
For the Blokus recycle card, maybe making things easier by having it be "Take the top card from any discard pile. You may place the taken card on any discard pile, ignoring needing to match. Treat it as played normally." This way you don't have to remember which card you played, and you can still enforce the topple the discard pile rule.
Hex: To me it is hilarious that people have been complaining about bad mechanics. Bro, this things is going to an overly complicated mess, you are going to need a PhD in Uno just to learn half of its mechanics. Having one thing or another being bad is the least of your worries. Loving the project btw, even if I know it is going to be unplayable
There is only one reason to increase the Uno No Mercy ‘Mercy’ mechanic and that would be if you eventually add more draw cards (enough to make the cards drawn per turn MUCH higher then 0.85) and such otherwise there is NO reason to increase it.
there is never a reason to adress the haters. You waste your energy and attract more of them. Just focus on your lane. You know this series is popular and most people who watch it like it. Take the haters engagement and ignore them otherwise. Love this series to death
There honestly aren’t many, and spoiler alert the time I spend there is just proving them wrong. 😂 I don’t have plans to address them again after this. 😎 Thank you for your support!
I think the math argument has one major hole: the multiple draws if you can't play. I've played several games where that alone could cause 10+ draws, and that's without the extra colors. Still, it's just house rules territory like you said. Certainly looking forward to seeing this in person someday!
Just finished binging all the episodes available as of now, and wow. This is genuinely impressive. I honestly feel like only one 3rd of the game would be spent playing, the other 2 would be spent re-reading the rules to remember what every symbol and modifier does.
Thanks for the praise! This is a genuinely massive project. 😂 There will certainly be a lot to learn once this game is done, but hopefully I’ll be able to streamline that process as much as possible!
It would be cool if the uno flip and lefty uno was the same thing, so on the front face the cards looked normal, and on the flip side the cards were the lefty version. Love the series, keep up the great work!
Episode 3 of telling Massacre's Mansion that he misunderstood how mario kart uno works, the abilities are not random, they are tied to the color of the card. Yellow - banana Red - mushroom Blue - lightning Green - shell Black - bomb
Hey, fun fact I did the calculations to see how long it will take for you to add every single Uno game into this game and you have to post around 52 videos to get all the Uno versions into the game edit I think it would be around 52 videos for all the ones you exclude for just being the same uno
@@Pia_dabaddest Woah, really? When I calculated it, I couldn't get it above 40 videos, and I went crazy with inclusions that I don't even think are likely...
What people who want to increase the mercy limit forget Is that the higher the limit, the higher the punishment for using it. Because if you want the rule in your game, It should be realistic to get to the threshold. Otherwise you just have one player sitting on the sidelines for half the game.
I've posted it on discord put I'll post it here too I just need to express how much UNO amalgam makes me happy, it's a raw dopamine shot I'm autistic and for some time on my childhood I hiperfocused on UNO weird versions and I spent a lot of time researching them, even if I never had an UNO deck myself Now I get to have someone talking about them all and merging them together, I fucking love it so so so much, it's my favorite active yt series tbh thank you so much for making my autistic inner child happy
I come back with more suggestions. I was looking into obsucere uno versions and found a latin america exclusive max steel uno and the tokio 2020 olimpics uno. They share the same mechanic in which you have a special wild card that, when played the player chooses a color and everyone shows a card in said color, the player with the highest value gets to discard the card played. the main difference is that in tha max steel one you have to yell uno before the "Battle" is over and in the olimpics one you have to say uno before the national anthem is played.
To elaborate on top of people not liking one part that was added; Its a card game that *you* bought. It's just like buying a book, after you buy it you can do whatever you want with it; if you wanted you could literally just take out the mechanics you don't like and literally burn those card, just like you could go buy a book and burn whatever pages you don't want.
Like, I also don't like the mercy rule being 25 to be honest. But if I don't like it *that* much. I could just have a house rule that makes the mercy rule higher or even take it out if I wanted.
I'm reeling from the two different pizza Unos. Great job as always. My only suggestion this time to add stupid number cards is UNO Wild Twist Playing Cards, which is just a standard card deck but they slapped the UNO label on it (they also added wild cards to a standard card deck). This would add Jack, Queen, King, and Ace to the numbering system for each color (and maybe standard card suites so you can play poker with the amalgam)
I know I mentioned this in a comment on the last video, but Ono 99 having an elimination rule just seems even better now that Bombo lives are a thing. Still absolutely unnecessary as a clarification since I still think it should be used as an example/recommended house rule, but I just want to say it again because it just seems even better after this video’s additions. ETA: here’s hoping for more elimination mechanics in future additions
Great video! I'm loving more and more the parts I go insane and completely forget every single thing you said before so I have to watch the entire series back, truly incredible, keep it up
You know. I’ve been thinking. Because you could pick up cars faster than bunnies producing, and up to 10 vict- I mean players can play at once (like people are gonna treat that like it’s sacred) I think the deck should be bigger. Like normal 0-10 cards with no special effects. The amount of normal cards should outweigh the crazy ones (let’s be honest some of the effects more than make up for it) and the starting number of each card should be increased to 13. Why 13? Because 13 is unlucky. 7 is lucky. And god forbid luck be on your side in this goop soup of a card game.
Man, I love your videos, and they never fail to put a smile on my face. I genuinely hope your projects succeed, and you know your true fans will be here to support you in your endeavors.
I love how you dealt with the salty internet people in a direct, yet respectful way. It's a great skill to be able to respond to differing opinions in a level-headed way. This goes for us viewers as well. There are many people, myself included, who have suggested ways of implementing rules, only to have you implement them in a slightly different (but overall more balanced) way. We need to be able to not get overly mad as well. By the way, I stumbled across the UNO version: "UNO Jurassic World Dominion" It adds some kind of "attack" card blocking mechanic, and the back of the box specifically states that you must "snarl" when saying UNO on your last card.
I love this series so much and look forward to each new edition with much excitement. Once again I have my hot choccy and blanket, and am settled in to watch.
I can imagine Spamton Deltarune selling Uno Flip 2009 like, "HEY EVERY! DO YOU WANT TO TAKE A [BIG SHOT]? GET THE [Uno Flip 2009] GAME TODAY! COMPLETE WITH UNO GUY [Registered Trademark]"
Has Uno Remix been suggested yet? Apparently it's supposed to be a "legacy game" which means once you play the game it changes in future playthroughs (...I think) and in this uno variation they accomplish this by... having you destroy your cards. Curious how you would implement this into the amalgam. Triple S Games has a video explaining the rules if you wanna watch that.
you should double the mercy rule to 50 since there are twice as many colors in the deck, and whenever you don't have the color card, on average you would be drawing twice as many cards than a normal game, making you draw double cards than usual (except of course the draw cards, which you mentioned in the video) edit: I forgot about the 4 piles thing, which kinda balances it out
I have really loved this series, I can't wait to see how the final product looks I particularly like the balance thing with the lives However I still think that there is a lot of space in the 6 8 9 cards... Are you planning on filling them? Mainly because some lower number cards are too crammed Perhaps you could modify some and put these symbols in the higher number cards? It's not how the rule was implemented in the game of the amalgam that added the rule, but I have to assume most of these symbols aren't specific to the number in question, so there should be no mechanic break if you move them On the other hand, perhaps you could think of adding a third row for the 1s and 2s, similarly to how there is only one row for the zeros Maybe its too soon to think of balancing measures for the deck, but I'd encourage you to have these in the back of your mind for after you have added all versions

One day you will! :)
You should try Campaign for North Africa next time
I absolutely adore this series, but holy hell, the clarification times are so good. Like, it's so refreshing to see someone making a thing just make the thing they want, public be damned.
Thank. You. So. Much. ♥️
Seconded, I think people are so quick to be critical about a game while forgetting the fact that it's your personal project, not theirs
The fact that this version allows for more players than regular uno makes it even more difficult to remember
Yeah, it should probably just let you grab a card from the discard pile you played it on. It could even be restricted to only grabbing something of the same color.
Also the recycle card not having the iconic recycling symbol (♻️) is a sin
Accepted game state, as long as the other players agree you played the card, go ahead
Easy fix: you only have to remember one card you would want to get back (like a draw card or something) and don’t have to keep track of everything you do. And if you don’t think of anything specific… well, then table agreement should suffice like the last comment reply says
Smells delicious already, hopefully we end up with a scrumptious Uno pizza after this.
😈
Oh boy! Cant wait to starve to death until I finnaly have that bi-weekly dose of Uno Amalgam!
That sure is the routine. 😂
on the days inbetween, play every version of uno you can find to prepare for the amalgam
You know the pizza card isn't the only way to get pizza, right? Go eat!
But it tastes so much better when you steal it.
You're totally right. I think a lot of us were blinded by the number of cards, losing sight of what actually matters which is the ratios between the cards, and potentially how that ratio may change over a play session.
Combining 50 uno decks into one doesn't make a more vicious game where people are drawing more often, it just means the draw pile is unreasonably tall and the balance of cards being dealt out is weaker (there are more wild cards, a wild card being drawn does not have as much of an effect on the likelihood of someone else having or drawing a wild card, etcetera)
However, I feel like the values of 0.42 and 0.85 are a little flawed, since every turn you don't hit someone with a draw card, they effectively draw -1 cards (or, somewhere near there, if they sometimes can't play), so having more draw cards proportionally will also increase the number of cards drawn per turn, and skip cards and some other effects will also have an effect on this count.
Really, the best way to determine the card counts of players over the course of the statistically average game is to simulate a metric ton of games and gather stats on them, like card count per player for each round, length of the game in rounds, perhaps number of players if that could have an effect... Although it would not be trivial to simulate the amalgam.
Valid!
@@MassacresMansion I'm just now realizing this short one-sentence comment quickly ballooned into one of those multi-paragraph essays
some say eating the uno deck would grant infinite power…
And some would be wrong. Although I’ve never tried it so… 🤔
I don't think waterproof plastic would be very tasty. 🤣
Add some pizza toppings and you're all set! Don't forget to remove the plastic bit though.
A couple ideas:
- you should definitely make sure there's at least one wild card in the finished deck for this project that's just a plain, empty, boring old wild card. You gotta have one of those to represent the original uno game
- the d10 should have some indicator on the faces to indicate which way to rotate next in order to go up by 1, that way players won't be stuck looking for it for a while each time they have to rotate. Something simple like a little triangle next to the edge with the next number would probably work fine, although you could also orient the numbers on the faces so that the next face in the sequence is always the one above/ below them (or do both)
Good ideas!
Man oh man oh MAN, I cannot wait until this is complete!
Thanks for the support! 😎
I feel like the mercy rule just limits how insane things can get. I'm pretty sure I've gone over 25 in Flip multiple times, but I always had fun whenever I played.
Now the life system can extend the game!
@@MassacresMansion for longer torture too!
Loving this project so far! Brief clarification suggestion for the "launch" mechanic: Make the "kicker" reveal the card they are about to launch to all other players before kicking it. Just so everyone has an equal opportunity to see what that card was that is/isn't going into the goalpost's hand.
Not a bad idea!
Nobody would get the credit if that was the case. 😂
Amalgam bug expansion, now with a completely custom and amalgamized Uno attack machine.
Wow! Thank you for your support! That’s so nice to hear! ♥️
As for that idea, hey, if you happen to have every bug already, by all means use them. That sounds chaotic as heck. 😂
This man is gonna give us a taste of the "Solo ultimate" experience, we are gonna eat well boys
😎
It would be even better with an expansion pack. It could split into two if needed.
a few uno games that change the game enough that they should be added sooner rather than later:
Uno Ultimate Marvel (Each player gets their own deck, rather than a single central one)
Uno Master (Turns now have a time limit)
Uno Flash (Turn order is now random)
Noted!
This reminds me of Uno all house rules that I played once where we just played Uno with literally every single house rule we could find. It was so much fun. Games ended in like 3 turns and it turned into a weird variation of rummy.
🤯
😎👌
I was wondering if someone else caught that maths mistake. All this means is Amalgam is a more torturous version of No Mercy thanks to No Mercy.
but it doesn't count as two cards for the sake of the no mercy rule itself
@@MagicGonads exactly, it counts as one card, so the number of cards used in the math should be half of the total number of faces, or you could count the faces twice like I did, either way works
The only worthwhile note I have about the "no mercy card limit" is that One should keep in mind not just the average number of cards drawn, but the most cards you could draw and how many cards you would have on average during that event. Basically since there are draw 10s, if the average deck was around 10 to 15 cards, then that's a very dangerous size to play around. But there are very few of those cards, you would have to have that many cards, and as you mentioned there are a lot of discard opportunities
Ultimately this is all just speculation anyways lmao, but from the best guess in game design it seems like it'll probably be fine
It's really just something that would have to be ironed out in a playtest, speculating too much now isn't really worth the time
One of the hard lessons I've gotten from game design lol
Some things are just better left for play testing
Valid!
I forgot what it was called, but the mini-pile mechanic from uno party combined with the mercy rule could be a devastating combination. I think this video fixes that with the lives system.
True!
Fantastic idea 😈
cant believe we are resorted to eating our own Uno cards now (my favorite)
i just realized this could be a reference to that one Uno "variant" that is called Uno Chocolate or sonething
They’re my favorite too! :D
@@the_lucky_loser Or the popcorn, or the jellybeans! Or it could be to the series spanning pizza analogy, or even the various fast-food themed Unos... Endless possibilities

Ngl, having an Amalgam Guy ™️ would be pretty fun as a mascot even if he never becomes a gameplay element like the Uno Guy ™️
So true 😂
UpUpDownDown is basically a subsidiary of WWE since it was mainly created by a WWE wrestler, and since WWE and Mattel have a long standing working relationship that's the most likely way the UpUpDownDown Uno version was created.
That’s so neat!
Brilliant.
Thanks for understanding!
YES! Premiers in two days~~
What a great title and thumbnail, they really bring up a feeling of unhinged desire, questioning something we all have to do (eat food) while at the same time putting a twist on it.

It would also be cool if the flip symbol also flipped the life card back over, like if you had 1 extra life and a flip was played, then you would be down to your last life and vice Versa

this project so far is just so funny to think about being a reality, but i feel like playing this would be alot of fun.

I hope that, after Uno Amalgam, he will cover other games in Amalgam form:

*Yahtzee Amalgam (aka the 'ultimate dice set')
*Clue Amalgam (what if new characters are added from the video games, movie, and tv show [although copyright may be VERY difficult])
*Jenga Amalgam (seems almost completely redundant; but there are so many strange official versions)
You’re giving me content ideas! 😂
How many different versions of Yahtzee exist? I'm not very deep into that one.
If a Monopoly Amalgam was made Hasbro might actually make it into a real version as they partnered with UA-camrs before (like Scott the Woz).
Sorry Amalgam too :P Guess Who Amalgam? I'm tired but these both sound like funny ideas
Does Uno Stacko go into a Jenga Amalgam?
The year is 2026. Uno Amalgam part 183 is released. There are 2 thousand cards and MM still doesn't know how many more versions of uno there will be, just that he still intends to sell the card decks when he's finally finished

What people who want to increase the mercy limit forget

Because if you want the rule in your game,
It should be realistic to get to the threshold.

thank you so much for making my autistic inner child happy
Thank you so much for your support! I’m glad my series is able to make you happy! :)
Noted!
YES. THANK YOU.
Like, I also don't like the mercy rule being 25 to be honest. But if I don't like it *that* much. I could just have a house rule that makes the mercy rule higher or even take it out if I wanted.
thank you for making the amalgam, your hard work is appreciated
I'm reeling from the two different pizza Unos. Great job as always.
My only suggestion this time to add stupid number cards is UNO Wild Twist Playing Cards, which is just a standard card deck but they slapped the UNO label on it (they also added wild cards to a standard card deck). This would add Jack, Queen, King, and Ace to the numbering system for each color (and maybe standard card suites so you can play poker with the amalgam)
Most of the wild cards are either color or suite specific, which brings in the added fun of SINGLE COLOR WILD CARDS
😈
I know I mentioned this in a comment on the last video, but Ono 99 having an elimination rule just seems even better now that Bombo lives are a thing. Still absolutely unnecessary as a clarification since I still think it should be used as an example/recommended house rule, but I just want to say it again because it just seems even better after this video’s additions.
ETA: here’s hoping for more elimination mechanics in future additions

I wish you luck shuffling all that. 😂
It's just shuffling 5 edh decks its no big deal
On one hand, I love this series and want it to continue. On the other, I want it to end so it can be produced in the real world.
Art takes time. 😔
Perhaps by the end of this there will be so many new numbers added that this will be true. 😂
We should convince Mattel to make an Uno deck that's numbered 11-24 so you'd have to add them.
I recommend adding Uno Ultimate. It's very complex, everyone has their own deck, and adds another way to be eliminated so it synergies with Boom-O.

By the way, I stumbled across the UNO version: "UNO Jurassic World Dominion"
It adds some kind of "attack" card blocking mechanic, and the back of the box specifically states that you must "snarl" when saying UNO on your last card.

Hope you're good at making music
Good thing I am. 😂
you should double the mercy rule to 50 since there are twice as many colors in the deck, and whenever you don't have the color card, on average you would be drawing twice as many cards than a normal game, making you draw double cards than usual (except of course the draw cards, which you mentioned in the video)

I have really loved this series, I can't wait to see how the final product looks
I particularly like the balance thing with the lives
However I still think that there is a lot of space in the 6 8 9 cards... Are you planning on filling them? Mainly because some lower number cards are too crammed
Perhaps you could modify some and put these symbols in the higher number cards? It's not how the rule was implemented in the game of the amalgam that added the rule, but I have to assume most of these symbols aren't specific to the number in question, so there should be no mechanic break if you move them
On the other hand, perhaps you could think of adding a third row for the 1s and 2s, similarly to how there is only one row for the zeros
Maybe its too soon to think of balancing measures for the deck, but I'd encourage you to have these in the back of your mind for after you have added all versions
I addressed the symbol thing in the previous video as well!
