    NPC goals and motivations are super important to me with my own style.
    Not every Villain in my games are "evil" some are just organizations that have opposing ideas.
    It's good to get people thinking about these things.
    (We use our pre-game brainstorming session to tie players to the key known-conflicts before our game-sessions)
