8 Soreen consumed in total 🫠 Little toe has a 360-degree blister, which is a new one for me. Poor thing got battered… It was silly of me to use my usual trail shoes, which often cause issues after 3 hours or so when my foot naturally swells. Possibly too much information, but there’s your answer!
Thanks! I use the Salomon Advance Skin 5 Set that I managed to get on sale for £55 from Pete Bland Sports (UK website). It did okay during this run, but most would say 5L capacity is too low for 100K. If I had to buy again and there were no discounts available, I think I'd be more likely to purchase something like the Kinder 10L Race Vest from Harrier (UK). Cheers again!
Amazing effort dude! Running my first marathon this month (don’t know what’s going to happen). Give me a shout if you ever need someone to shoot content and help you as a crew!
** Too much information below ** As with all longer runs, I'll make sure I go "fully" in the morning with the use of a coffee. Thankfully, my system is pretty trained at that now. When it comes to urinating, I went twice in the bushes -- once at 32K and again at 60K. I didn't need it at any other time. (Obviously "wild weeing" is easier for men, though a "Sheewee" may be helpful to women.) As for No. 2 in the wild... I'd always recommend taking a pack of tissues with you for any "deposits" in the wilderness. However, that would be a last resort. Instead, I knew of several places on the route where I could stop and deal with that business. Thankfully, I didn't suffer any major issues, despite the many caffeine gels!
Haha, I think doing this kind of thing unaided does make the planning phase more important. 100K with regular aid stations and toilets would be less stressful, I imagine!
Can believe you just went out and did a double Mack. Did you do any training or just go ‘I’m just gonna do it’ Either way, that’s a run to remember!! Awesome work 🎉
Thanks! Your videos came in helpful when planning, so cheers again! There wasn't too much dedicated training for it. I mostly just tried to carry the fitness from Manchester Marathon into the Malvern Midsummer Marathon and then into this "Over 50K" attempt. Longest runs were limited to 20 miles, but I'd probably increase that if I ever attempt this distance again... 100K was the best-case scenario. I wasn't going to be silly with it, so I knew where train stations were and did have escape plans if heavily injured, etc. Thankfully, it turned out to be great day with limited repercussions... Should hopefully be able to "jeff" very, very slowly around Bushy tomorrow!
Incredible running dude! You did an awesome achievement and must be very proud 👏 can’t wait to see what’s next

How do you deal with the bathroom situation 😂 it’s one of the main reasons I am so worried about doing something like this
