Creating a Simple 16 LED RPM Profile In SimHub

- Let's create a LED profile for iRacing so that all 16 LEDs will cover the car's RPM range.

Hope your channel grows quickly! I just discovered it and am going through your videos. Keep up the great work and keep pumping out those Simhub tutorials!!! :)
Man this was super helpful. I just picked up a GSI formula pro elite and it’s great when you’re in the correct car, but just flashes red and blue if you’re in anything else. This is literally exactly what I needed to a tee. Legend!!
So helpful!! I just made this LED change on my GSI. Love it.
hey, just wanted to say this was super straightforward and helped me to understand how to get an arduino based rgb LED strip working with iracing - thanks & subbed!
Thank you so much for doing all of these SimHub videos. I am in the process of making a dash someone else made for iRacing work in AMS2 and every time I run into an issue I look to see if you have a video to help.
Total n00b here... this is fantastic start guide! Thanks for this!
Really helpful channel this - simhub is great, but it needs more how to videos like this!
I'm just now getting into learning about Simhub and have loved your videos so far. I started sim racing (iRacing) back in November and have fallen in love with it. I'm going to start looking into making dashboards and making profiles/RPM led's as soon as I get solid feet under me. I also just realized that this was created 3 years ago lol, so everything might look a little bit different....Well crap
Brillaint Video. Makes it so easy
great video thanks. I have an issue though that the shift lights are maxing out way before reaching peak rpm? Given they're incremented in %'s, this seems a bit odd?
hey, Do Yoy also know how to program as chasing animation for example 22 leds ?
Is there also a tutorial on how to adress 2 arduino.s with some ws leds
1 can upload 2 but how do i make the 2 profiles ?? Hope this post is stil up
Hello do you have a led profile for Simhub for the Porsche 911 RSR for rF2. Thank you
I downloaded the GSI leds but they don't work... do you know what it could be?
Mine is starting form right to left, does someone know why?
the "right to left" option its not selected
Awesome stuff Adam, great content which is very helpful. Question - Can a temperature change profile (colour change) for tyres be created (not just number value change)?
Sure. Just not for iRacing as there is no live tire data.
Love you videos. Would be very cool to have a dash that replicate the Mustang v8 supercar as a lot of people lose the dash and rev leds due to the FOV
I'll take a look and see how much work it would take to replicate it. Spare time is tough to come by during the summer months.
Is there a reason I can’t see this with the test data? Am I doing something wrong?
Just got a GSI for Xmas managed to get the profiles working in iracing - but assume for something like AMS2 I’m gonna need to copy this and create my own? Managed to get telemetry working at least
The GSI profile I created is iRacing only. I don't have AMS2 unfortunately
Hello, looking to have an led a static color for ABS on and flashing when engaged. Not sure how to use formulas to accomplish this, appreciate any direction or maybe an idea for a video!
SimHub has an ABS active function built in. No custom code necessary.
hello very useful video, but I would like to set the rpm led flashing when it's time to change gear. the redline is long before the gear shift, when they flash in the game dashboard it is the right time, when the rpm line goes from white to yellow to understand. it's possible ?
You'll need to set another function below all the rpm functions to have all the LEDs flash at the RPM you want them to
Hi Adam, I watched all your sim hub tutorials and they’re absolutely awesome and you’re great and very clear, please keep posting them! :) I’ll take your offer, can you contact me? I’m building my first custom wheel with a nextion (topic not yet covered in your tutorials ;)) and I would like to have some advices on some ideas I have in mind. Thanks a lot and keep up your awesome work.
Thanks! You can email me at adamheart.twitch@gmail.com and I'll help as best I can. I don't have a nextion here, but I'm thinking of ordering one to do more videos on.
I have the CPS V3 pedals, connected to the base. i would like to set an LED to show my pedal input in different colors, is this possible?
Got a video on that right here.

Hello Adam, how would you do an effect that would match the indicator when to shift in iracing?
I would personally code it to each specific car, but there is a RPM redline property that you can use as a general indicator, but it doesn't activate at the ideal RPM for all cars. Usually it's early
and to nextion users who use the Nextion tab: don't fret! This is all correct. but ITEAD interfaces don't react to the test module. go in game to test it
If you're still monitoring comments - I have just tried creating this versus using the default RPMS effect but it doesn't work. The pit limiter and max rpm part does but not the rpm percentage. I've tried using test data editor and in-game. Could it be because of updates to both simhub and iracing since this tutorial was made? I also tried your profile, same issue.
Correct. The way SimHub reads in RPMs now is different. I'll be posting an updated tutorial hopefully next week.
Is it possible to make a splash screen that will display when you're not in a sim software if the screen is plugged in?
Yes, but it depends on how you want to do it. You can set an idle screen for a dash and as long as SimHub is open, the idle page will display when not in a sim.
If you know how to write in the command line, there is another way to have a boot/idle screen that will display even if SimHub is closed. If you want option B, let me know and I'll post the code
Option B would allow me to display a screen if it's on a wall mount when not in use? Would like to be able to plug in a battery pack to the wheel to still have a dummy screen of some sort if the wheel is on display
@@jarenbraud9559 Yeah. If you send an email to adamheart.twitch@gmail.com I can send you the code with a quick write-up
Is there a way to make a 16 led shift in 1st gear, hit a rpm limit and repeat in 2/3/4th and so on ??? At the moment all I’m get is 16 static led lights and a flashing alert to shift gear.. Complete novice here.
If you set the LEDs to come on at a certian RPM, they do this regardless of the gear you are in
How do you get the rgb lights to completely reset after each shift?
I'm not sure I understand the question
For some reason I now have the first green led always showing on this profile, any way to turn it off?
Email me at adamheart.twitch@gmail.com so I'll remember and I'll send you a different profile to try this evening. The issue you're having is not a common one, but it does happen.
@@AdamHeart ok will do thanks Adam
I made this and I followed a couple of your other videos on dashboards and creating LEDs. But they still dont light up in game
Are you using an Arduino to control the LEDs and does SimHub see the Arduino?
@@AdamHeart Nvm I worked out how to get it to work. All I had to do was select ShiftLight in more widgets, or the little things, and then create them.
hello can u make a tutorial to make a boost gauge?
Sure. To be clear though, is this boost guage for the LMP1 in iRacing. Or a different sim?
@@AdamHeart no i was just thinking of like the code and stuff to get it to work
