Great video!! I'm definitely giving the Simhub Control Remapper a try since I'd like to use more than one wheel and I haven't done so because of having to remap buttons. DNR's LED profiles are the best. I just got my Turn Racing TDU5 and it was the recommended LED profile. I've been so impressed with it, knowing how much work it takes to create a profile for just one controller and one car. Glad is he's getting some recognition here.

It is actually possible to keep a button pressed with the "default" state, but you can't use it in combination with another condition. I just wrote a feature request in the simhub discord for "long press default". fingers crossed it will get implemented.

    Some advice regarding control mapper:
Use only functional namings and assign the functions in game though the phone app. This makes switching between games easier.
I found that name buttons or rotatries like funky up or down as controls makes no sense because you can assign the control in game directly.
Named function in control mapper kan also be tied to simulate keyboard presses.
For example cursor up down left right and enter or space can be setup as roles in the output mapping and tied to simulated keypresses in the controls and events section of simhub.
This makes it easy to set up a funky switch to simulate the cursor keys and keep the functionality of the keyboards cursor keys on the keyboard too.
The special function key is very usefull as it almost doubles the amount of control inputs on any wheel or controller.
It's very usefull to hide certain car functions like for example pit limiter you don't want to accidentally press: Pit limiter only activates when two buttons are pressed at the same time!
(And Dan using that special function key to be able to shift up and down using one paddle can be very usefull in certain situations. I have my special function key as the top left button and it makes it easy to use my left shifter paddle for an upshift. The other hand is freed up to fiddle with other controls or hold a drink.)

Huge thank you for this video. I tried using keyboard binds in SimHub for my wheels and ran into all kinds of issues. Remapper has saved my sanity for wheel and button box management. But you mentioned not using PTT… it seems to work for PTT if you leave filtering set to None. It will then hold the button as long as you hold it. But literally just set it up and haven’t tested it extensively.

also if you dont want to use simhub for whatever reason you can just create your mapping in iracing and then save the controls.cfg file in the iracing directory, this is how i do it. Then you can switch them out depending on what wheel you are using. It only works for iracing though

I followed all the steps using the Bridge way. Created controls in ACC that were showing up as "SimHub Controller Remapper Bridge".
Next time I login - nothing works. The button presses are seen in SImHub but not in ACC. So I try to assign buttons in the game again and now it recognizes in put as "SimHub Controller Remapper Bridge 3".

Best thing about the control mapper is that you switch the wheel without even leaving the car. Most games have a controller config file of sort, but for the most part the game reads this just on start up.
One thing I cannot get my head around is how to deal with the clutch paddles. If you use HidHide the game will not see those either, or am I missing something? I am currently evaluating the VJoy option and got this working for the most part - but even here the clutches give me a head ache. I hope somebody has a tip or two.
    Cheers.

    • @boriskosloff754

@@signet1453 Come to think about it: The clutch paddles are analog, just like turn the wheel left/right and therefore neither VJoy nor the Arduino will ever see it. Those need to be setup in the sim. My USB Arduino arrived today - let's see how that goes.

In game you want to map the simhub command, not the wheel button. But if you press the wheel button in-game when you assign control it will get mapped to the wheel button, which you don’t want. So you can hide the wheel HID from the game so that when you press the wheel button, then simhub intercepts the command and sends the simhub command to get mapped by the sim.
