Macknzie is well on her way to being an artist! Thanks so much for the food storage video! I'm going to investigate mylar bags as an option for bulk foods!
Rhonda, we also recycle oil buckets for food storage and have been for years. We just clean them good with a good degreaser then air them for several days before using them, and have never had any problems with any we have opened! Great video as always, just keep keeping on, and forget about the negative Nancy's!
You look very nice and very young. I have one idea for the lids, they could be housed for target practice, the circles could be painted in between each circle, better than paper targets. Good luck
First off your hair is beautiful. Kenzie did a great job. Storage methods you use are awesome and beyond the average. Dry goods stored that way are good for a decade.
Hi Rhonda! Not only can you fit under a sink cabinet, you're clever and thrifty. Nice job explaining how you do this and covering the possible concerns. Wheat would be one that I'd wonder about because of the weevils. Good video,Thanks.
Your hair looks really nice and the highlights make it pop. Your money saving tips are great. I have always bought in bulk and stored and saved here on the Farm.
Using those buckets is just fine and in my opinion a very good idea. If people only realize what they eat in restaurants that they. Don't even know about,. Thanks for the videos. Oh yeah before I forget, I think that your hair looks really nice! Have a blessed day!🙂
Hey Rhonda. First thing your hair looks great even though nothing wrong with a little gray hair. Now that looks like a great idea for storing things. Take care and have a blessed weekend.
Rhonda, I tried storing sunflower seeds for the bird feeders in 5 gallon plastic buckets (Lowes). Over the course of a winter, squirrels chewed large (squirrel-sized) holes where the seal was. We had fat, healthy squirrels that year!
Hi, right on Rhonda w/ the buckets as they are handy for alot of stuff. Mackenzie did a beautiful job w/ Ur hair. Best of luck selling the extra lids. U & Ur family plz farm safe.
Your hair looks beautiful, she did a great jobof course it's hard to improve on someone who is already perfect in every way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks really good Ronda good job Kenzie you did a wonderful job keep up the good work and I love the bucket idea that's a great idea thanks for the great idea I'm gonna have to do that I love that idea thanks for the bucket idea Ronda
with everything in mylar your food is golden. amazon has openers. new buckets need mylar liner plastic also will let transmisson of o2. when i buy for long term i vacum seal then pack inside mylar lined bucket. wheat and other grains. i use gamma lids screw on and off
Rhonda, I think your idea of storage is just fine for you and the family. I am a former food inspector for the Military, so I have some experience with food storage. You might not be able to sell any food stored in mylar and non food grade buckets, but for the family you are OK. I enjoy your UA-cam videos, keep up the good work. PS, your hair looks nice. Mike from Lake Orion.
I like your bucket idea. Have you ever tried vacuum sealing your bags. That would remove all of the air. We do it with everything 9freeze and can keep items for 3-4 years without freezer burn.
looking good there......we canned 38 pints and 7 quarts of frozen peas that were given to us from the neighbors,,they got them from a food giveaway and didn't want them..
Ask Kevin to make an attachment from your vacuum cleaner to draw the air out. Make it as small as you need I'm sure he can do it. As always enjoy the videos. By the way hair looks nice nice Mackenzie.
Rhonda, Your hair always looks beautiful. It’s always a learning experience watching your videos. I get a bunch of 5 gallon buckets from the Deere dealer I work at. I can’t stand seeing them thrown away. I try to salvage the lids also. I spray them with a degreaser and use a hot water pressure washer to clean them. If you can’t find a market for all your lids you could always advertise them as large frisbees Lol. Have a good weekend 🙂
I can not watch videos until nighttime and then I read all of the comments and that is problematic. Good info tonight from a talented young super mom with pretty hair. 👍👌
I am a man and so I can not give hair advice. Your hair is just fine. Keep a "lid" on it. I sure could have used some of them a couple of years ago. It is always good to see you and your family.
Wow I loved the video. I ever see those bags for sale to the public before. I have two granddaughters go to school and even grandpa its his hair and nail done. [ No color hair or nails I draw the line there] but it helps them.
Hi, Rhonda and good morning.😊😊😊😊😊😊. First, your sister Mackenzie did a great job with your hair color. It looks beautiful.💖💖💖💖💖💖. Second, the brand new lid is amazing. Also, I love your pink sweater too like a 1967 Pontiac GTO with a purple lightning on the side of the car in "Test Drive 5."💖💖💖💖💖💖. And third, the fireplace is beautiful with logs inside the chimney.💙💙💙💙💙💙. So...yeah. You are an amazing farmer, a cooker and a mother to do great things around the farm. And I love it so much.💙💙💙💙💙💙. Have a great day, stay safe and happy Saturday.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Bye.😊😊😊😊😊😊💙💙💙💙💙💙👍👍👍👍👍👍
see i would like to buy just buckets, but even tho they old bucket the oil won't embed in the bucket and they would be save, plus the bag you put food help protect the food
Well you taught an old dog a new trick today with the sealing process. Amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Mackenzie did a Great 👍 Job on your Hair. You’re a Great Mom to ALL of your Kids & Kevin. 😬👍

Buckets are so handy to have around!
You look very nice and very young. I have one idea for the lids, they could be housed for target practice, the circles could be painted in between each circle, better than paper targets. Good luck
Fun fact the rubber seals if u pop them out work amazing to wrap around stuff to hold it down like a tie down
Neat idea!! 😃

I've had wheat stored this way for several years without any issues.
Your hair looks really nice and the highlights make it pop. Your money saving tips are great. I have always bought in bulk and stored and saved here on the Farm.
i use a vacuum to suck all the air out, it really pulls the bags right tight all around, i even use it to bag my chickens turkeys an so on
Using those buckets is just fine and in my opinion a very good idea. If people only realize what they eat in restaurants that they. Don't even know about,. Thanks for the videos. Oh yeah before I forget, I think that your hair looks really nice! Have a blessed day!🙂

Rhonda, I tried storing sunflower seeds for the bird feeders in 5 gallon plastic buckets (Lowes). Over the course of a winter, squirrels chewed large (squirrel-sized) holes where the seal was. We had fat, healthy squirrels that year!
Oh no!! Did you store the bucket outside?
LOL, it's hard to stop a squirrel from doing whatever it wants to do. Thanks for the laugh.

I like your bucket idea. Have you ever tried vacuum sealing your bags. That would remove all of the air. We do it with everything 9freeze and can keep items for 3-4 years without freezer burn.
My vacuum sealer doesn't seal the mylar bags.
Letica of Fremont Ind. makes the buckets and lids. May get em cheaper going through them. Just a thought. :)
I might use smaller bags, so to be able to use as needed ( not breaking the seal as often ).
McKenzie did an awesome job on your hair. She will have no problem finding a job in the field.
I agree, very talented girl with a great personality and attitude shes a rare one
I find food grade buckets at Subway and at any place that sells restaurant food they throw away the buckets in good condition
