Pretty stellar editing for such a small channel. I for one enjoyed the timelapses and concise nature of this video. Beautiful results on the finished product as well!
Thank you so much! I just started down the video editing rabbit hole about 3 months ago....it's a much bigger learning curve than I anticipated but I'm finally starting to get the hang of it :)
Thanks much! Machining is a pretty humbling thing, for me at least. I break bits from simple toolpath oversights all the time. It's all part of the process :)
Beautiful craftsmanship! Price should reflect your quality and supporters will gladly pay. I admire your creativity and expertise on the equipment. 👏 thank you for sharing. How long per unit including machining?
Thank you! It really depends on how many I'm making at a time and how much coffee I've had but I think I calculated it to around ~30 minutes total per opener when I made a batch of 40.
there is ONE SMALL THING I would have done differently.... after you put you name into the circle that the metal bottle opener piece lays in I would have put just a small amount of epoxy into the lettering, but ONLY the letters, (and wipe/sand off any that overflowed) so you could see your name, but only when you are looking for it.... an Easter Egg!!! :)
I actually tried that with epoxy and super glue but it's a lot of extra work for something in this price range. I'd have to do another round of epoxy pouring, let that cure, figure out how to finish such a shallow pour...etc. Also, I made the epoxy depth on the back for that very purpose, the logo engraving cuts into the epoxy. Not as cool as filling each letter but definitely faster. Thanks for the suggestion though, I love hearing ideas from other people.
I actually built a vacuum chamber for this but realized I just inject more air when I stir the epoxy after pouring it. I figured I'd just skip the step this time but I'll probably use it again.
When I look at the sale price vs. the amount I receive I die a little on the inside. There are some pretty shady practices by Etsy, like calculating their fee based on the sale price including the shipping amount.
Slow down your editing a bit, it’s jumpy and the time lapses are used to much. People will watch 1/2-2 hour long woodworking videos with good angles and no time lapses I like that there is no intrusive narrating and music. Beautiful work I’ll sub for sure!
I genuinely appreciate your feedback and struggled with those decisions for weeks during editing. I asked several friends and the answers were polar opposites. Some prefer longer duration with or without narration while others implored me not to make anything over 5 minutes because nobody would watch it. It's a tough call so I tried to find the best middle ground. I'll most likely have a mix of both moving forward.
Beautiful! Hysterical opening with the broken bit. Still laughing 😂
I didn't laugh at the time but I can laugh about it now. Thanks for watching! :)

Nice editing on this video!
Nice product, surprised they sell with so many twist tops around
Oh man, I know how it goes breaking router bits on my CNC. These are really nice designs.

I love your way to work !
Thank you!
What type of roundover bit was that?
If you search for "point round over" you should find them. I'm using an Amana.
What brand is that blue you use?
Firedots Sapphire Blue

I really like the blue that you used. What is it called?
blue
Firedots Sapphire Blue
what are the sanding thingies on your drill press?
I use several variations but you can find them by searching for "flap wheel" and "interleaf flap wheel". I generally prefer the "interleaf" variety.
@@heartmadewoodworking thanks!
Why don't you vacuum for bubbles first
I actually built a vacuum chamber for this but realized I just inject more air when I stir the epoxy after pouring it. I figured I'd just skip the step this time but I'll probably use it again.
What are your thoughts on Etsy's fees? I've heard from many sellers that most of their profits are eaten away by Etsy's fees.

I completely understand! I miss the old days of Etsy when the company wasn't trying to be another Amazon and was a great platform for crafts people.
