This is still the only song performed live from the new album, due to the pandemic situation. Your double reaction was like presenting a unique diamond, first in the "mount" of the entire metal instrumental arsenal of the band, then on a simple black velvet, shining in the "light" of an acoustic guitar. And speaking - about what? About empathy, another precious trait that defines us as human beings.

that verse is written about Floor and Hannes (her husband and drummer for sabaton). what i love about this song is it asks the very simple question hows the heart? how are you? something that in this day and age of the individual, caring for others, just asking how someone is, is now an unfortunate rarity.

Floor mentioned in the documentary Please Learn The Setlist in 48 Hours, that the reason she was able to memorize all those lyrics in such a short amount of time, was because Tuomas' lyrics were so meaningful and interesting that they easily stuck in her mind.
"How's the heart" is written by Tuomas and he calls it "an ode to human empathy"

Floor is amazing but how about a big shout out to Troy. His vocal tone sat perfectly under Floor and his finger picking on that acoustic was just great.

Check out: "Sympathy - Rare Bird 1969" ("How's the Heart" brought the song to my mind. I was not sure about the title of the song but luckily I was able to find it when I searched for "'Cause there's not enough love to go round.")
(A Finnish singer Matti "Fredi" Siitonen died a couple of days ago at the age of 78. He did a very good cover version of that song. When he was doing his mandatory army service as a young man he was given the name Fredi after Fred Flintstone. I guess someone thought he looked like him.)
As someone who has just discovered Nightwish, you shouldn't question the long-term fans' tastes just because they don't like the album. This is mainly a question of habit here. This album is just so fundamentally different from what we are used to from Nightwish musically. Humans are creatures of habits. For you at the moment all is new to nightwish. Whether these are old songs or the current album. For some people it just feels like a foreign body. The album is not bad at all. It's just different and some get along with it better than other long-term fans. I don't think it's up to you to question other people's tastes. I like the album, but can understand anyone who doesn't know what to do with it. I can't listen to the entire album at once. That's too gentle for me for nightwish. Mixed with old songs, as it will be in concerts, it looks completely different again. Some songs just take longer to ignite. Some you just have to hear more often until they know how to please and with others nothing works. It is like it is. The fans won't run away anyway. 😁

I feel very proud that most of my mates know they can come to me with anything sad or hard, one friend yesterday said I'm known for my kindness. This is the adult I hoped to grow into. Though I know people try to spare me from stuff cos I'm prone to deeeeeep depression.
Tuomas first idea of Nightwish was to be mainly an acoustic band, they made 3 songs and got quite bored of it :) then Tarja came along and the rest is history. Next song is my favorite on the album. Floors singing is so beautiful and for many maybe difficult to see as a Nightwish song. The video has a strong message.
Troy's smile right at the end is everything...it like "this girl is out of this planet". And she is....no frills no gimmicks. Just a couple of talented folks, a guitar and three mics.
The more frills and gimmicks that are used to get attention, the less talent you will discover if you peel them off.
You should also check out the acoustic version of Nemo from the same session and also her cover of Oblivion by M83.
Lmao, you looking for captions on a lyric video has just made my day! A lot of this album are so deep and emotional, fair warning, the next video, while it is far from the best song on the album, the video is heartbreaking 😭 . We're all here to live these emotions and show how human we can be 🙏🤟

The 2nd verse is Tuomas's Respect for Floor and what she's brought to the band. The couple with the child I'd supposed to Floor Hannes and Freya. Hannes is about 6ft 7. That sounds like Tuomas with the Poet and Pendulum

My three favorites are "The Shoemaker" and "Ad Astra" and Procession (In that order for me personally) but there is no song I do not like but just like less and it is A story from beginning to end on the record and I would recommend you to make one song at a time on the second part with the official video and then you have a video that a fan has made on the whole second album which I think you can take after you have made each song separately.
Hope you do all the covers on Floors channel as I have for me you have done some already

Sorry, but i lost you a while ago, when you started to manufacture these reactions (i have a life, so...). It's a too common mistake, that you'll maybe face later. This particular song is favorite of mine. The message is beautiful: kindness, caring and love. And Tuomas indeed wrote the second verse to honor Floor. I love both versions. The "album" version has a nice and steady hard rock beat, but the "Planet rock" version is more emotional and intense due the intimate acoustic setting. And Troy's left ear has been deaf since then. 😅👍

I suspect that chorus is repeated over and over again because Toumas is illustrating that the question of... "How is your heart" ... cannot be asked often enough.
It's not that people don't care about others anymore. But also not trusting. People won't let someone in because nobody can be trusted anymore. Even your best friends that you know for 10+ years can just suddenly randomly stab you in the back.
And that is phenominal, Both versions.

But in real life those so-called pop singers are not at all so awesome, like, Mariah Carey, Adele, Lady Gaga and more of that garbage........
Floor Jansen can sing very beautifully, and she can sing even better live....
Floor Jansen also has a charisma and a very beautiful aura and pure nature that all those superficial "singers" of now miss...
