I had the honor of producing Talang 2014 (Sweden's got Talent, 2014) and it's heart-warming to see that you reacted to Jon Henrik the same way we did 10 years ago. However, watching the host Adam Alsing - not only one of the greatest hosts ever - but also a fantastic, spirited and kind human being tears my heart apart since he left us far too soon in Covid.
He is a fantastic artist. I met him like 20 years ago. I was with my brother at Daniels place. Jon had a smal key board. And when he started. I got chocked. It was just amazing. Daniel was my brothers best friend. We miss him every day. Daniel keep watching over us down here.
As a woman with Samí ancestors and a mother to a Colombian born son I am very proud of Jon-Henrik! I have always loved the jojk and I am happy that so many young Samí artist spread it around in peoples minds. I wish I had that talent myself, came back from hiking in the mountain range yesterday and the views was so beautiful I wish I could give them a jojk.
Jon Henrik is amazing. 💙07:14 Is the host Adam Alsing. He was one of the most beloved TV and radio personalities and have been famous in Sweden since 1990. He died of covid in 2020. He's so missed.
I played Little Big Planet 2 a lot as a child and Adam Alsing did the narrator voice in it. I remember I was blown away, it was, and still is perfectly delivered. I knew who Adam Alsing was by then but that made sure I would remember him with fond feelings always.
He became really famous, and has been competing in the Swedish national final for Eurovision - several times. It is always the 'Sami jojk', a traditional singing genre, but several times featering other artists, to make it even more pop-music.
Not me ugly crying when the camera turned to Adam (the host) in the middle of the performence 😭😭😭 the most sweet, genuine nd beautifull host we ever had the honour to have here in Sweden. He passet away a few years ago 🥺🥺🫶
The Sami joik is not a song with lyrics; it is a song from the soul and heart. Even if you don’t understand the song, you understand the emotion. Daniel’s Joik still touches me today when I hear it. It goes deep within oneself, and you just find yourself. It’s hard to explain; it must be experienced.
It´s okay to cry listening to this song Dwayne, as a Swede I can say that many of the Swedish people cried 2014 listening to this. It´s still gets me today, you can really feel the love Jon has for his friend. 😁❤❤

Therse no lyrics in joik. Jojk (also luohti, vuollie, leu'dd and juoiggus), Sami for singing, is an ancient Sami song, among the oldest in Europe. The term jojka originally comes from the Sami word juoigat. A jojk must not contain any words or sentences. You dont joik to a person, an animal, a nature fenomena or even a rock or a three. You joik THE person, animal, nature phenomena, rock or three. The joik is kind of the sound of their spirit. The sound of joik/jojk is comparable to the traditional chanting of some Native American cultures. Joik/jojk shares some features with the shamanistic cultures of Siberia, which mimic the sounds of nature
The Sámi is the only people that hold the status as indigenous in all of Europe as their ancestors the Proto Finns, migrated to northern Norway from Siberia Asia during the Last Ice Age X thousands of years ago when there was no modern Norwegian/Swedish state, country, culture language or society as well as people which didn’t exist until the end of Danish and Swedish rule. Therefore the Sámi is not Germanic nor Norwegian or Swedish. They weren’t the 1st people, as they mixed with the 1st Europeans from the Middle East: Western Hunter Gatherers with brown skin and blue eyes, but because they didn’t intermix with later incoming populations or immigrants: Anatolian farmers, Yamnaya, Germanic farmers aka Norse, they are therefore indigenous. Their cousins the Finns and Estonians did intermix, and they themselves are the result of Southern Sámi tribes mixing with these incoming populations as well as Swedes and Slavs in modern times. Of course Norwegians and Swedes would move to claim otherwise due to racism and an imperialistic mindset as Sápmi was colonized by Norway and Sweden. Still is. Just like America is still colonized, and Hawai’i Nei is still illegally annexed by the US government. Everything has already been proven by DNA, linguistic and archaeological evidence, BUT many Norwegians refuse this as well as spread fake news and propaganda to change the narrative in their favor due to land claims. Also John is one of our biggest Sámi singers, Southern, from Sweden, and he’s actually Native American and was adopted from South America. Suicide is a huge societal problem amongst all indigenous cultures that experienced colonization and religious brainwashing. Especially in America is this a huge issue where kids kill themselves everyday. What happens when your land, culture, traditions, language, identity and way of life was basically destroyed and taken from you. You got no reason to live which is it what the occupant government wants. The Sámi didn’t experience the genocide, but historic generational trauma non a less by being colonized, kids taken away and put in residential schools forced to speak Norwegian. The different Sámi languages are all endangered some extinct. Their land taken. Now the encroachment from settlers, and the government fighting against mining, deforestation and wind mill parks on indigenous Sámi land!
Joik (pron. yoik) puts you in touch with something bigger than yourself. Jon-Henrik is a fantastic joiker, and there are several talented Sami artists. To name a few, Sweden has Sofia Jannok, and Norway has "the grand, old lady", Mari Boine, as well as Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen. I recommend "Mountain Dance" by Jon-Henrik, "Irene" by Sofia, "Eagle Brother" by Mari and "Ozan" (cover from Adjagas) by Ella Marie.

Swedes were forced them to speak Swedish as well...🤷
Yeah same 😬

Wtf is jojk
Jojk, pronounce Yoyk, is what You've heard from this guys PERFORMING! SINGING without special words, expressing fellings of the Heart /Spirit & Soul❗
His friend died of diabetes
Joik (pron. yoik) puts you in touch with something bigger than yourself.
