We always called ours 'stuffing' even though it was never cooked inside the turkey...so even though you're technically right, I think a lot of people just call it stuffing (regardless of being baked on its own) so as not to confuse it with salad dressing or something.🤷♀️ :)
I make 2 "stuffing" dishes for Thanksgiving. One made with cornbread and I call it "dressing" and one made with sausage and Italian bread that I call a "stuffing". The dressing is from my dad's side of the family who are southerners and the stuffing from my mom's side who lived in Chicago growing up. Maybe it's also a bit of a location thing as well. I like having the two names to tell them apart. lol

Sarah it pleases me so my much to watch this channel your kids are so polite!!! How does one accomplish that? Our thanksgiving was hectic everyone jumping through hoops to be together. My three nieces brats that never sit still. The mom does nothing to instill table manners. Long short because the kids were not able to sit still, they get up from the table leave to swim in the pool. I made a gesture to my brother in law and he quickly said he’d handle it. There’s no parenting going on plus you teach the children not to listen to other adults even if the others have your kids best interest at heart. If I can’t ask the kids to behave I really don’t want to be around them. Please tell me what I should do.
Nothing you can do if the parents dokt do anything about it. Trying to teach children that are not yours manners will bring division an a lot of unessessary problems. I stay away from them as much as possible.
I know what you mean, one of my great-gr'daughters has to be the center of attention and frankly I hate to see her coming at all. Her mother and grandmother use the excuse that she is the "baby", they are not doing right by her.

Talk to the parents and lay down some rules. Stick to basic stuff like no leaving the table, pool closed during certain times, or whatever the worst offenses are. Tell the parents that these rules are to help keep the distractions and chaos to a minimum. If the patents put up a fuss don't back down under guilt tripping. But be prepared to need to change future gatherings in order

Hahaha….our niece married a wonderful man from Ethiopia and they came for Thanksgiving. It was a crash course in soccer for all of us as the World Cup dominated the day!😂😂😂

Next year try southern dressing! We use cornbread, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, eggs, celery, onion and season w/ S &P and poultry seasoning! So good you won’t regret! I make a lot and freeze for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day meals!!

Try draining and drying the brussel sprouts on kitchen towel 1st then smash and season. If there is too much water it is so hard to brown

Spray some pam or any baking spray on the foil before you cover a dish and the food won't stick. Little trick we learned in school :)
I can believe you never made filling before ! I actually made it for myself, usually my husband would make it, but since he passed in June, if I wanted it, I had to make it. I am struggling with making food for 1 ! However, I shared, with several people & put some in the freezer for later.

I miss the big family gatherings we had as children. My little Grannys house would be bursting at the seams with family. My mother did the bulk of the cooking and everything was amazing. I get a bit sad thinking that now I am the oldest of the family and we have lost so many. Sarah, making dressing is so easy and I make everything from scratch.

I agree that the kitchen can never bee too big for holiday cooking. We need the mega mama kitchen for these holidays. We hosted almost 20 people for friendsgiving and we didn't have enough room either. One day. One day.

We inject our turkey when we smoke them on the grill. Some butter and spices of your choice. Get a syringe.
And inject it all over. It keeps the turkey so moist and tastie. Just an idea

What a beautiful video...sure wish I had been there. Our old man cat came hobbling up on Turkey day and his back right foot was just dangling. We do not know what happened but a new neighbor put up a privacy fence and we think he got his leg caught between the slats. Because the xrays showed the bones pulled completely out of the joint and she the doctor said we would have to amputate ... We do not have much money so I am dipping into grocery money and putting off paying stuff till next payday to pay for the surgery. 800 00 is alot of money when you are living on retirement...but my husband absolutely adores his cat Fat Bob. He came up a out 3 years ago and began eating here and then about a year later he was trying to open the front door at about 11:30 one night. Scared me so bad I thought someone was trying to break in. I crawled down the hall to my bothers room and our room and woke my husband and brother up. Both were very sick but they cleared the outside of the house and told me I was dreaming....the next day Fat Bob tried planning the door again and my husband caught that cat red handed and fell in love. We were too it's a lot better that the cat chooses you and we believe it. We now have 9 cats that we feed daily and about 6 who are Ferrell that come up to eat.

I miss my big family. Parents, aunts & uncles all dead. Cousins all scattered with their own families. My sister died last year. So I’m on my own now. But I do my own thing and am fine with it. I cook a Cornish hen and enjoy it. Watching your family brings back memories. ❤
