Not sure why nobody ever talks about Ulta Mineral SPF 30 Tinted Face Lotion. I just bought that a couple weeks ago, and omg that stuff is amazing! I think it’s better than Paula’s Choice, or actually, I think it’s the best face mineral sunscreen I’ve ever used. It’s lightly tinted a peachy brown…it is very lightly matte, but not drying at all. It makes my face feel like soft and silky! This is the only spf I will buy now. It’s really really good
Yes! People just don't talk enough about Ulta brand products in general, I think. I wish they didn't use so much fragrance, but they have some great products for the price. Personally, I love their gradual tanning drops. IIRC, the sunscreen was mostly awesome, just too fragranced for me and gave me a headache as I tend to be sensitive to that. Is it still like that? I haven't seen a fragrance free version from them, but I would be ALL over that!
Fellow Canadians - the best chemical sunscreen that’s available in Canada is the LRP Anthelios Ultra Fluid Body lotion. It’s got newer filters and is 125 ml. It doesn’t sting my eyes and I’ve used it on my face. Dewy finish and can be found at Shoppers. I love it! Vichy Sport with Mexoryl XL is really nice too. My mineral pick will always be the Australian Gold.
Yes! We just got Angie's mineral sunscreen video, and now yours! Yearly sunscreen reviews are amazing, and I get so much irritation from anything but zinc!❤️❤️❤️ Thanks!!!
Another great video Miss Ash! I just adore your reviews. I just discovered Versed Guards Up Mineral sunscreen (Target) and absolutely adore it on my mature skin. It has a slight tint, so no white cast and just leaves the most beautiful finish! I can't even tell you how many sunscreens I've tried, this one is absolutely fabulous.
I love the Paula's Choice Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 & Australian Gold Tinted SPF 50. Thank you for all the great sunscreen recommendations. I will try the New Roche Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted SPF 50 mentioned.
That Pipette sunscreen is my new "casual" holy grail. It's perfect for my dry skin, and I can forget that I even have it on! I don't wear makeup, so if I'm a little heavy-handed the white cast can become a bit of a problem when I'm trying to look cute. I just wish it was water resistant!
I use DRMTLGY physical and like it a lot. I've also use Paula's Choice Daily Wrinkle Defense and like it too. My next sunscreen will be the Elta MD you mentioned.
Love this video , so informative . I love La roche posay Anthelios invisible fluid 50. I always go back to it 😂no matter which others I try . I also love the tinted version as well for my no make up days . I also find it fine under my make up . It really suits my dry skin.
Thanks beautiful 🙏🏻 another great video! I actually love the supergoop as well especially with my sensitive skin! I purposely order the 20ml & keep those in my purse for reapplication on the go! My favorite holy grail is the Ultra MD but I’ll be trying the pipette next ☀️
i think this video would be much more helpful if you demoed all the sunscreens and applied the correct amount of them to your face and neck. just a suggestion to your next sunscreen video. and btw - blotting your face removes the sunscreen protection, not a great tip.
Noted! Once you have left the sunscreen to fully absorb for a while I don’t see anything wrong with lightly blotting your face especially when you are going to be reapplying it again throughout the day or applying powder spf on top of makeup. My opinion of course.
Great video. The only thing i find out, when i tested at the back of my hand is different than apply to my face. If you could apply them into your face that would be perfect but still love it
Hey ,nice n informative video ..but i want you to make video about best face washes for combined to dry acne prone n milia prone skin ( i've also discolorations n pigmentations n white heads ) ..also best moisturizer for the sane skin type 35+
Dear Ash, thanks for all your recommendations. My favorite sunscreens are: 1. Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36 2. COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++ 3. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair UV SPF Moisturizer for Face, Daily Facial Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 30, Niacinamide and Glycerin, Oil Free, Moisturizing Sun Protection for over 40s. Love your channel ❤
Hi lovely Ash 🤗From what you have shown today in only have the Paula’s Choice one but is still unopened ☺️. My best discovery this year was Bliss Blockstar but only has SPF 30. Perfect for UK apart from the summer ☺️. It is tinted but can hardly tell it has a tint but strangely enough it even out my skin tone . Perfect under makeup too ! Works ideally like a primer and keeps the oiliness away but still have a nice glow . And another one I just got but still unopened is Versed Guards up. Other than that I use Olay moisturiser with 30SPF and top it up with one of the tinted mineral sunscreens ( the usual DRMTLGY, Australian Gold, Elta MD ..whatever I have on the go ). Thanks for the video ! 🥰
Good Morning Ashley. I noticed at the beginning of ur video you said that Mineral SPF’s do not absorb into the skin. How it sits on top compared to Chemical SPF’s. But as you was talking about each one; you talked about how quickly they absorb into your skin. I thought wow that explains why it feels like it sits on top of my face. So;; question is , does mineral spf’s absorb or not.? I have researched about both SPF’s (mineral, Chemical) but never heard that before. But I also know that you know!!! And I trust your reviews and recommendations of all products. Just a bit confused. LOL ( I’m a Natural Blonde) LOL Thank you so much for another great SPF review video. My fav thus far is the Clinique Prep SPF. Trying out many different ones out of the Sephora SPF Sunscreen trial sized bag. I’m new to using SPF’s on my face as of November 21.
Good Morning!! Yes.. So Mineral sunscreens sit on top of the skin as it deflects UV rays whereas Chemical sunscreens penetrates into the skin and absorbs UV rays. The Mineral sunscreens that I mentioned still dry down nicely where it feels like the skin absorbed it... like it doesn't sit on top of the skin and feel all slippery/sticky as these do dry down so your skin feels "skin like" and of course so you can still apply other products on top like makeup etc. I hope this makes sense? lol!
Great video! I look forward to this one thank you. I'm always looking to try a new sunscreen, still haven't found a Holy Grail. For reapplication powder sunscreen, my new favorite is the Physicians Formula mineral wear spf30 in the shade beige. Which one of these is the most affordable per ounce? And which one is the most mattifying?
I don't generally like using sunscreens that are mattifying as they feel dry on my skin but if I had to pick one in this video that is "skin like" but a tad matte would be the Paula's Choice one.. The Australian Gold SPF that I have talked about in the past (which I still l love) is more mattifying in my opinion😉
@@SincerelyMissAsh thank you for your response! Too bad I have a lot of texture and dewey products make it look worse. The Australian Gold is what I use and I do like it but the fair to light that I received not too long ago is way too tan for my skin. tone. I ordered another one to see if it was just a mistake in labeling. The Paula's Choice 1 sounds wonderful
I would try the La Roche Posay one that I mentioned in the video. It's has a beautiful finish where it looks natural. Not too shiny, not too dewy but rather skin like.
Bonjour from Montréal :) Thank you for this review! I'm 50, and I'm still confused when it comes to applying my skincare, then putting sunscreen on top... I'm worried that the ingredients could not be compatible sometimes, and would "cancel" one another if you will. I still do it, but... what is your impression on that? (I may be worrying for nothing ;) ) Thanks in advance my friend! Have a fantastic day! :)
Hey there... So you want to draw a line from the base of your finger to the tip of your finger "finger length" and you want to do that to 2-3 fingers (index and middle finger) so that you are getting the proper amount of sunscreen for that SPF number. Ideally this will give you 1 teaspoon..
Great video, have you ever tried josie maran spf 47 ? i love love love it... i mixed the tinted and non tinted together, do not get the 30spf, it is horrible, smells rancid and has not the same formulation. Would love your opinion on these
I just purchased the ordinary mineral SPF and its really sticky is there something I'm doing wrong because in your review on the ordinary Sunscreen you said it didn't feel sticky ? x
Good sunscreens are really hard to find (and especially at a reasonable price and in Canada). Does anybody have this problem? I'm VERY fair and I have rosacea (so I have sensitive skin, but it's also oily - it's quite the combination). I find tinted sunscreens are usually too orange and turn my pink skin purple (I'm looking at you Avene!). But the white cast isn't a good look either. The one I'm onto at the moment is Cerave Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30. It's not bad. I don't mind Ombrelle Face Anti-Shine SPF 60, but it's not sweat proof. It's a hybrid sunscreen with a slight tint.
Have you tried the ombrelle ultra light hydrating cream spf 60? Its a combination sunscreen with both mexoryl filters (sx and xl).. I'm not sure if that's the one you mentioned having tired.. it never irritates my skin when it's sensitized, I have normal skin so I don't know how you'll like it with oily skin but its not greasy.. if that doesn't work out, la Roche posay anthelios spf 50 is a good option with newer filters that are not as irritating and it's oily skin friendly.. hope that helps
Can you get the Pipette brand in Canada? If you haven't tried it, it's very affordable so it might be worth a shot. I have lots of trouble with sunscreens (even some zinc-only ones) irritating my skin and eyes. Pipette has probably been the least-irritating sunscreen I've ever used.
Don't waste your money on that la Roche posay tinted sunscreen.. Garnier ombrelle has a tinted sunscreen for way less than that and it has more titanium dioxide in it at 15%.. I recently got it on sale for $13
Good morning from Ottawa! The link that you provided for Canadians to purchase Elta MD won't work for Canadians. I went through their site... set up an account, selected my purchases only to have the link tell me that they do not ship Elta MD to Canada. If you have another option, I would love to use it. The *only* sunscreen that I use for my face is Elta MD, which I purchase when I go to the US when there is no pandemic. Help! It is summer (finally) in Ottawa and I need Elta MD supply.
Oh really? That is so weird... Something must have changed then but I will re-link it somewhere else. Here is another link where you can purchase the EltaMD UV Daily: amzn.to/39tcZYA
DRMGLY physical is too dark for me. I like it good for sensetive skin. I might use it for counter my skin. Can't find any dark skin friends want to try. 😅

Love this video! Thank you! Also, I missed the hair care tip? Lol
Glad to hear that.. Hair Care Tip?
my favorite not on this list is Olay mineral spf30. very hydrating and no white cast and no peeling.

I use the Australian gold tinted sunscreen, I've been interested in the Inkey List but its got mixed reviews so never tried but for the price i should
Love the Australian Gold tinted as well 🤗
Hi Miss Ash, how do I apply the sunscreen in my face, what do you mean by saying 3finger link thank you for your answer
Hey there...

I have never tried the Josie Maran SPF so I wouldn't be able to speak on those. So sorry!
I just purchased the ordinary mineral SPF and its really sticky is there something I'm doing wrong because in your review on the ordinary Sunscreen you said it didn't feel sticky ? x
I don't find it to be too sticky no but I think it also depends on what products you are using under it... like moisturizers and serums..
