    Yay! I’m glad you like the pipette... it’s the one I recommended! I stock up on like 3-4 bottles every time they have 40% off sales. I wear sunscreen twice a day on my face so I can’t be spending a lot of money on sunscreen. I love that it’s spf 50 too!

    Ahh I have been waiting for this!! I was so interested to hear what you thought of the Paula’s Choice Calm sunscreen. I use the other formula for dry skin (I have extremely dry and dehydrated skin) and love it! I’m surprised more people don’t talk about that line of skincare from Paula’s Choice. Thanks for such great reviews of sunscreens every year 💖

    Would love to hear your thoughts on the new Native sunscreens-they have facial spf and body spf. It’s all mineral-non-nano zinc oxide. Facial spf costs $14-seems like a really great price point. Would love more info on how it wears!

      I think it wears great. I think she put a review out last year??? Native goes on smoothly and sinks in fast, and wears well under makeup. Better than anything out last year at that price point.

    This was awesome!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 I can't even imagine how much work you put into this, and it is very appreciated. So much helpful information! 💜 Good to know that the Unsun is similar to the Bliss Block Star. I wanted to love the Block Star, but the more I used it the more my skin hated it. I was so bummed. I suspect it was the lavender oil, so that's great to know maybe I should avoid the Unsun as well. I will definitely be trying the Pipette instead. Thank you so much for the recommendation! What would you say the dry down is like? So many sunscreens leave my face and neck a bit tacky and it drives me nuts. It's hard to find sunscreens that dry down smooth. Thanks, Sarah! I hope you have a great weekend. 🌻🦋✨

    • @SarahRoseBeauty
      @SarahRoseBeauty  2 роки тому

      Ahh good question! The Pipette definitely doesn’t set like the Bliss one, it does stay a bit tacky on the neck so that might bother you! Maybe the Paula’s Choice Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense would be better for you? It sets down but feels much more weightless than the Bliss! Hope that helps!

    Paula’s Choice ultra light wrinkle defense spf 30 is my absolute favourite. Also, in Europe where I am from, la roche-posay sunscreens are amazing, though chemical ones. :)

    • @marielle7505
      @marielle7505 2 роки тому +2

      I'm from Europe too. My problem with La Roche Posay is that it is such a confusing brand to me. They have great options, but they also have options with a lot of alcohol and fragrance. And somehow it's hard to keep them apart. They all look so much alike and have similar names. I gave up on the brand. Love Paula's Choice!

    I clicked so fast, been looking forward this one! I am really surprised so many people like the Bliss one because it looked so horrible on my skin, the scent was really strong and it never felt like it set down completely. The colour also looked straight up orange on me unfortunately.. I'm definitely intrigued to try the Pipette one since it's so affordable 👀

    Heads up for everyone that the Pipette one is at Marshall's/TJ Maxx sometimes too! I got mine for $7, so an even better price on an already affordable product! I know a lot of people can be weary of shopping at those stores, but sunscreen has the expiration date right on the package(mine is good until 09/2023) and this sunscreen has a seal over the opening so you an be absolutely sure the product hasn't been touched.
    I just got mine and haven't opened it yet since I'm finishing my other one first, so I was super excited when you continued to not mention it meaning it was a high ranking one. I'm glad I picked it up!

    The Pipette baby lotions are also great!! I use them as body lotions in the summer - lightweight, sensitive skin-friendly, but still hydrating.
    My fave scent is Rose + Geranium, it smells more herbal than floral to me, and the scent is non-irritating.

    Hi, sunscreen junkie here who’s tried it all too and I have some great recommendations.
    The beloved Misha bb cream with spf 42 light complexion should get #13 or 21, medium skin tones #27 or 29. But a high end one that’s exactly like the Misha (Misha is much less money too) is the J Dart+ Beauty Balm, spf 40. Also, the L’Oréal Serum Foundation spf 50 and the Maybelline Urban Coverage SPF 50.
    If you just want a fantastic sunscreen for the face, I’d highly recommend the Hawaiian Tropics Silk Hydration Weightless spf 30. It hydrates like a dream, gives a healthy, plump glow without looking or feeling greasy and works great alone or as a primer, giving a beautiful canvas for makeup. Pacifica Sea and Sheer spf 55 is great if you want a sunscreen, but it is just a good face sunscreen, that has the white thicker formula that blends into the skin but provides excellent sun protection while having really good ingredients. The Hawaiian Tropics Mineral skin Nourishing milk sunscreen says it’s tinted but it is only tinted pumping it out. Once you apply it looks and feels exactly like traditional sunscreen. I don’t know where the milky part or the tiny part came from. You get zero coverage and zero tint. Garnier green labs replimping serum cream is a beautiful face sunscreen as well with spf 30 and it gives a beautiful smoothness to the skin so it works great under makeup too and blends out easily without leaving a white cast. That is probably one of my favorite plain sunscreen other than the Hawaiian Tropics silk hydrating Weightless spf because it does function as a great hydrating lotion and primer.

    I love the MDSolarScience Sunscreen SPF50. They had a sale at Costco, two 1.7oz for $20! Best physical sunscreen I've used! It has a cashmere feel as it states on the package and glides on so well. It also has a faint cast that even out my blemishes. I do not wear make-up, so it does a great job smoothing out my skin. It does not peel on me at all. I have oily skin, so it does help to hold back the oil. It does not feel heavy at all. The best benefit of it all is that it has Blue Light protection because I have hyperpigmentation! I suggest trying it for yourself if it sounds like something you would like!

    Great video, Sarah! I also enjoyed the Bliss blockstar sunscreen and the amount of product in the tube is definitely less than other sunscreens I've used. I actually just finished it up and I tracked the usage. I used it 45 times in the span of less than 2 full months from the moment I opened it. Certainly not a bang for your buck product.
    Now I'm using the Cotz sensitive skin non-tinted sunscreen spf 40 and I have to say, it's reminding me of the Pipette sunscreen that you ranked #1. The main difference is the price, I mean how can you beat at $12 sunscreen for that amount of product! I think I'll pick up the Pipette sunscreen once I finish this one!

    The Paula's Choice Hydralight shine-free is my ultimate holy grail sunscreen on my oily skin 🥰 I've recently been testing out a (chemical) Korean sunscreen by Beauty of Joseon and it's been really lovely as well! Super moisturizing and really nice under makeup.
    I looked up that Mychelle one because I was curious and by the comments, it's been reformulated 😬 frosted glass bottle is the "new" formula and sounds like not as good. Bummer, I was curious!
    Edit: oh! I think I remember that Calm combo/oily sunscreen was supposed to replace the Hydralight line, but customers demanded they bring the other one back so they did 😂 I haven't tried the Calm one so I can't say I know the difference haha.

    I’m so shocked that you don’t like the MDSolarSciences Mineral Creme Sunscreen- it’s my favorite. It does go on with a silicone primer feel, but 10-20 minutes later it’s the exact texture of my skin, it sinks in with no white cast, and never pills, breaks me out, or stings my eyes. This is why any beauty reviews are highly subjective and of course a product that someone swears by can be someone else’s nightmare- so always take any review with a grain of salt and try it for yourself! Oh, and I hate the Paula’s Choice Super Light Wrinkle Defense- it’s way too drying on me, and I do greatly prefer non-tinted SPF, but I do love their Defense Glow Moisturizer with SPF 30 and their Calm Mineral Moisturizer SPF 30 for normal to oily skin. The former does have a slight grey tinge that I have to conteract it’s a bit of bronzer, and the latter is just fine by itself, best for daily wear and not for the beach or hiking as I prefer a heavy duty sunscreen for that (either the MDSolarSciences one, the Elta MD UVClear SPF46 (a combo spf with physical and chemical filters) or the amazing australian Ultra Violette SPF that aren’t available in the US but are HG status).

    I love Elta MD tinted physical in the squeeze tube, no pump, 3 ounces. Not oily but could be too dry for dry skin - I’m 52 but still break out. I just bought the MD Solar tinted and it’s so greasy I can’t believe it. I also love the Paula’s Choice glow sunscreen. I’ve been trying to use up my Aveeno Pure mineral sensitive skin and it’s really thick - actually accentuates my dry flakes and makes them white - I also just picked up the Pipette for $7 at TJ Maxx - I made sure it’s not expired.

    We have very similar tastes in sunscreens! Haha! I do find your experience with the Pipette interesting though. I have normal to dry skin…I love the Kinship Self Reflect, Paula’s Choice Glow, the Josie Maran and I find the Pipette to be the most moisturizing, almost bordering on greasy on me. I do like it still though in winter/fall. My favorite find this year has been Naked Sundays Collagen Glow Mineral Sunscreen. It’s AMAZING and I think you would love it! It’s SPF50, 80 mins water resistant, 22.75% Zinc and moisturizing and glowy. It looks amazing alone and under makeup. It’s from Australia so I recommend ordering over $49 at once to get the free shipping and looking for sales/promo codes…you can almost always get it for 20% off too so look for codes and sales. Another favorite is the Elta MD UV Restore. It’s more moisturizing than the UV Elements if you’ve ever tried that. They’re both SPF40something. Anyway, love these videos! Excited to see what you find for next year…

    Have you reviewed the Australian Gold Tinted Sunscreen? I just did a quick search of your channel and I don't think you have? It's affordable, mineral, multiple shades, spf 50, and water resistant! Some people find it drying, but personally I don't, it has shea butter, glycerin, and squalane. (I have noticed if my skin is super dry it clings to some dry patches, but for me that's true of anything with a tint unless it's SUPER slippery, like the MD Solar Sciences). Cruelty Free Kitty says Australian Gold is cruelty free.

      I love the Australian Gold sunscreen! It's one of my HG facial sunscreens, especially if I exercise outside. It lasts forever. Sweat beads up on it so it's definitely water resistant LOL. I personally think the tint can be enough coverage for me on some days, and it's kind of grippy with makeup so it makes a good primer too!

    The bliss one looks pretty dark, I was surprised by that.. I'm also surprised that the pipette sunscreen turned out to be the favourite.. it sucks that most mineral sunscreens are more expensive than the chemical formulas so it's nice to see the pipette is so affordable.. I've tried the Paula's choice tinted spf and it's similar to the Australian gold tinted except it's more affordable and comes with 90ml.. I think the Paula's choice is a little thinner though.. l didn't see any that I'm interested in trying but I really enjoyed seeing this roundup of sunscreen this year!

    I looooove the Mychelle SPF 50 as a makeup and then I powder over it. Your review of it is spot on!!! Im oily so it's very very nice for my skin. I was very interested in how it compared to the Ilia since I liked the Mychelle so much and I wanted to know if it would be worth it to find a good shade match between it or just stay with Mychelle and I think I'll just stay with the Mychelle.
    Thanks for answering my questions Sarah!!!!

    I loved so much the SPFs from Paula’s Choice ❤ unfortunately, my skin changed quite a bit and for some reason I can’t tolerate some of their products anymore.
    For example, the tinted SPF makes my face red instead of evening out the skin, and it’s also too matte for my dry skin. The Defense one - at some point I felt some tingles when applying it and I couldn’t understand why… and no, they were not expired. The Calm one was the only one that I could apply without consequences, but it was a bit too glowy for my taste.
    Now I started giving chances to chemical and hybrid sunscreens, but I’m not very happy with what I found 😅 it feels like a lottery when trying a new sunscreen!

    In my experience, all the MD Solarscience sunscreens have that silicone type feel. They don’t have silicone in them but it feels like a silicone primer.

    I can’t use the Pipette. For some unknown reason, the smell of it turns my stomach. I can’t find a mineral SPF 50 that works for me. For everyday use, the Paula’s Choice Calm Normal to Dry or Recovery Dry to Very Dry are the best for my skin that I’ve found. The Burt’s Bees sunscreen turned into a dry and pilled mess after a couple of hours-such a shame. I was disappointed.

    How do you deal with Pipette's greasiness?

  • @southbug27
    @southbug27 2 роки тому

    Due to skin cancer, sunscreen should actually be considered an essential medical product not a beauty product to fight sunspots & wrinkles. We do t have enough good, affordable sunscreens in America. part of the problem is government regulations that require expensive, long term studies to get a new ingredient or sunscreen approved by the FDA & it’s also a low profit product, making it something that companies don’t want to waste their their time & resources on for both reasons. I hope our attitudes will change soon.
    It’s a shame we don’t have great, affordable kid’s facial sunscreen as a thing. We really should be putting a nice sunscreen lotion on our kid’s faces every morning after they brush their teeth to get them into the habit from the start. It’s too expensive now for most families to even afford it, & of course, we need to have formulas that wouldn’t get in their eyes when they sweat & not irritate their skin.

    Thicker the film the better the protection. I dont care as much about look and feel as I do about ppd value. But since im American, we don't really get much information about UVA protection. Probably because most of our sunscreens have garbage UVA protection. Which sucks because those are the aging rays!

    What a fun eye look 🤩
    Oh my goodness… So many sunscreens. I wonder which one is best for my sensitive eyes, I’m currently using super goop play, or unseen sunscreen. They didn’t used to bother my eyes but it seems like they are now. So frustrating. 😏

    Hi Sarah. What is the consistency of the Pipette sunscreen.Im so confused because I ordered it from they're website and the consistency was watery. Yet when I watch some video reviews on it it comes out like a thick lotion. I couldn't really tell in this video what the actual consistency of it was when you put it on. Thanks 🙂

    • @SarahRoseBeauty
      @SarahRoseBeauty  2 роки тому

      You might just need to shake it! It should be a cream consistency. When I first got mine it was super separated from being out in the cold so I had to shake it and wait a little while for it to go back to the right texture. It definitely shouldn’t be watery!
