Since you have both an original GBC and a FPGBC, could you check if the GBC IPS screen could work in the FPGBC? I like the "Game Boy Color" logo in the lens of the original GBC and wish I could add that into my FPGBC. Are these Q5 screens for the GBC compatible with the FPGBC LCD connector? Thanks
For whatever reason, the osd on mine barely works. It works sometimes when it feels like. Guess I'm gonna have to resolder the connections or something.

Try covering the soldered points on the board with kapton tape. They're probably shorting out somewhere.
