When ARMS came out me and my irl buddies got super into it. We were like creating our own meta and debating over motion vs stick controls. We continued only for like a year after the last update but it was a great time and the game has so much charm. I dont like how min min plays in smash but i like that ARMS was included. I hope if they make a new one it has more story stuff as well. ♥️
Nintendo Hero actually included it as one of the new attractions in a Nintendo Land sequel. It would be a competitive attraction along with Kirby, Mario, & Animal Crossing. Splatoon was also included as one of the team attractions along with Kid Icarus, Metroid, & Zelda.
Bayonetta Origins is another game no one talks about. Its artstyle and boss fights are peak and im surprised they didnt advertise it as a game you can play with 2 people. It couldve been a big selling point for many people
I’ve tried Arms for the first time today after hearing for years it was "okay"… well I had an absolute blast. Maybe it’s not a 60€ game but you can get a bucket of these for a penny these days and it’s a must try.
I’m a big advocate for Bayonetta Origins! It’s an incredibly charming isometric action/adventure/puzzle game. Has some Zelda/Metroidvania aspects to it. It has a beautiful art style and soundtrack, and despite being a smaller scale game, it still manages to pack in that Platinum Games bombast. I was really enthralled by it. It’s a shame it got so overlooked and was treated so dismissively upon reveal.
After spending a long time with Brothership, I confidently say that it is an exciting new Mario RPG that breaks expectations with a fresh, emotional storyline, much like Super Paper Mario. It dives deep into the bond between the bros, blending complex storytelling with classic Mario charm, being a delight to specifically M&L fans. It serves as a celebration of what an HD Mario RPG can be, it's creative, heartfelt, and full of personality. Much like Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Brothership revitalizes the franchise by pushing its usual creative boundaries. So I truly recommend people to give it a chance in the near future to avoid getting spoiled, and to enjoy a fresh new take on the Mario world!
I absolutely love strikers battle league and have been playing it since launch. It really is a very sophisticated soccer game with deep controls and mechanics that make it super engaging. The animations and cutscenes are also unmatched by pretty much any sports title nintendo has ever done
I really enjoyed Emio and have been eyeing up the remakes for a while, so I’m glad to have your seal of approval on The Girl Stands Behind! While it’s not a full game, one thing I feel I should recommend that often goes overlooked or underdiscussed is Splatoon 3’s Side Order DLC. Functionally it’s an incredibly fun and replayable roguelike, and a much-needed shake-up to the formula of the Splatoon campaigns. While it might not share the same grand level of story as Octo Expansion (which S.O. actually expands on quite a bit here-and-there!) it has a cast of really lovable characters to compensate - all of which get the full spotlight this time as well. I could listen to Pearl and Marina chatter on for hours… Throughly recommend it if you already own the base game!
Although I enjoy Splatoon, I'm not very good at it. It took me ages to complete even the base Splatoon 2 and I never got through all of Octo and I didn't actually spend that much time on the Splatoon 3 single-player mode. I should revisit Splatoon 3 but if it's like Octo in challenge, I doubt I'll touch the DLC, great though it looked.
@@nintendoforecast it does actually handle difficultly much better than Octo did! There’s a lot of customisation that lets you adjust aspects of difficulty in exchange for lesser rewards (think a much more developed version of Uprising’s Fiend’s Cauldron) but that said it still does get rather difficult towards the end nonetheless
Link’s Awakening is definitely a wonderfully charming game, (snap) absolute classic. Another Code: Recollection also has a lot of charm in it’s own way, a couple of very nice, fun games.
Link’s Awakening (2019) is a top Zelda game imo and one of my favorite games period Its atmosphere, gameplay, and touching story really make it a big standout Xenoblade 1 and 3 I’m also huge on. Xenoblade 1 I think is one of the best games of all time I did wanna add, calling the game more nihilistic compared to 2 is a little unfair considering 1’s message at the end and the connections you can make to it in the real world. I appreciate the love you put out for it regardless tho. Have yet to play 3’s DLC, but I plan on playing it soon.
Yeah, I didn't necessarily mean in the very end, but it still felt a bit bleak at times in the final run. I just personally found the optimism and brio of XC2 more compulsive.
Opposite to video, in my opinion Link's Awakening doesn't seem hard to find at all on store shelves, while ARMS hasn't been seen since before COVID. When Switch Lite came out and removed the ability for the motion control punching aspect, existing copies of ARMS sold out that holiday and Nintendo never seemed to have desire to manufacture more. I was always kind of fascinated in ARMS, but not seeing it in ads or on store shelves for years I just don't think of it too often anymore. The one title I thought of that didn't get a mention was Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Wonderful what-if alternate history for the Breath of the Wild story, and Nintendo loaning out the character models and assets from BotW to KoeiTecmo allowed it look absolutely spot-on. A few balance and control problems, and sudden graphics pop-in on a few stages, but nothing terribly wrong with it. With Breath of the Wild climbing to over 32 million sales, Age of Calamity running only 4 million seems woefully underappreciated.
While I really enjoyed AoC, I really wish it was canon to BotW. I get that it would have been a darker ending but it would have been so much more satisfying personally. Mind you, 4 million for a console that already had HW and FE:W is pretty good going.
I’ve been thinking about the Famicom series but since I played 8/10 of the Ace Attorney games this year alone I need a break from mystery genre (and before that I played through Rain Code: Master Detective Archives, so there was a lot, all great games, though none first party, although all were once Nintendo exclusives at one point of their existence) But you still gotta get through Astral Chain and the Xenoblade games + their DLCs (with Torna and Future Redeemed essentially their own games) you’ve got a lot to look forward too. Also I just got through Brothership, great game when you get around to it
I really interested in Astral Chain since the combat of controlling 2 characters seems quite interesting. But currently I'm too pre-occupied with Xenoblade Chronicles 3. From Chapter 1 the game feels a lot more fun and polished than the previous two titles and I'm impressed how seemingly the most ambitious Switch game was able to make profit with less than 2 million in sales.
I am REALLY, REALLLLLLYY glad to see Mario Strikers Battle League on the mentions list! I am one of Battle League's few fans, I grew up a lot with Mario Strikers Charged and was incredibly happy that the series was returning at all with how long it'd been. There are a lot of things I do miss from Charged that Battle League pales in comparison to, but the one thing I will say is I believe Battle League does not suffer as much as the other Mario Sports games did during the Switch era aside from lack of content. I think the roster for Battle League is definitely disappointing, it's extremely WEAK when you compare it to Charged and other sports games, a lot of the update characters relying on returning characters aside from 2 new additions didn't help much either. It was very clear Next Level Games didn't get to put as much love with stuff like the roster, UI etc as much as they wanted to and could've been on a time restraint to get it out, I don't defend the updates at all and it's not the best look for the series returning in years. HOWEVER... I do think that at it's core Mario Strikers Battle League is a Mario Strikers game. The gameplay is fun for quite a while, the amazing unique artstyle is still intact and emphasized even more, the tourneys return for single player content and the new gear options helped to spice things up for a new Strikers, the rock and metal like music is a banger and lastly the animation work is really incredibly expressive and Next Level Games did a great job of showing each characters personalities. I don't think Strikers Battle League is perfect and I'll always prefer Charged, but I wouldn't write it off immediately either. I love Battle League a lot.
Well, Battle League isn't really - I just mention it as an extra with heavy caveats... and kind of out of guilt cos I use it as a punchline so often. Engage... yeah, actually, I should have put that on there.
Engage has the best map design and enemy AI in the series that encourages proactive tactics. But it unfortunately has anti-story, what I mean by this is, story that motivate you to not play it.
not first party but the ghost trick remaster on switch is chef's kiss

ARMS, Advance Wars and the FDC series would all be on my list too!

Seconding the recommendation for Link's Awakening. GREZZO understood the assignment.

Arms is THE underrated switch game. It’s the most fair and polished fighting game ever.

Astral Chain is a hidden gem and on of my favorite games in the Switch library
ARMS, Captain Toad, Boxboy+Boxgirl and many more. Switch is a wonderful console
Snipperclips really is charming and fun , 4 players mode too
Thousands of r/tomorrow members are being summoned as we speak
Celeste 😳😧
Hidden Gem.

idk how the Links Awakening remake is underrated it sold over 6.6mil and Metroid Prime is one of the most classic praised games nintendo ever made
150 million people bought a Switch
Great list. I'd add Princess Peach Showtime to the list 😊 It is rather short but very versatile
Oh, interesting - that's one I skipped. Might look out for it.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX
Yall should play the hidden gem celeste its very underground
Oh I love Celeste. I stuck to first party here but otherwise Celeste would be well up there.

Can we expect Arlo type Holiday Content from you???
Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game of all time, i want more people to give it a chance instead of writing it off as anime waifu crap
I don't rate it quite as highly as that but I agree it's really superb.

Claiming first.
Fire Emblem Engage on the list too but it is the worst FE game ever that surpassed Fates.
Battle League shouldn’t be on the list either.
