"Well I'm used to this room, but Dob isn't."
Can we all send Luke hugs? Because I want to send Luke a hug.
I think they all just deserve hugs in general for the fantastic work they do.
Definitely think Luke needs a hug
LUKE NEEDS HUGS!
Ditto
You can if you choose. However the joke is that Dob doesn't mentally process any of his problems so that room would destroy him psychologically.
Andy’s character work in the curse hole really was incredible. Corazon has come a long way from his origins as a Jack Sparrow knock-off.
I also like how Prudence did what she implied she was gonna do this whole season. That was peak roleplaying.
He may be the worst Jack Sparrow knock-off you've ever heard of
@@photoo848 but you have heard of him...
@@EonStormcrow and his amazingly powerful magic
Core message of this Oxventure:
Corazon realises that cursed treasure is _so_ yesterday - the *real* treasure was the friends who didn't kink shame him along the way.
Like Leather daddy Theodore
Percy entering the Coral Zone and exiting with the name Corazon is my new head canon
Haha, I love that 👏👏👏
Holy crap that is great.
I look forward to the day when Prudence remembers that she's a werebear.
Ok so I'm not crazy, they never cured her of that. Cool I'm glad I remember that too
Or when she remembers she can recover her spell slots with short rests.
"I'm not going to retreat, I'm not going to hide."
Corazon ❤
Top tier moment.
What you see in the mirror as Egbert runs 30mph after you
Using misty step for once
He may be closer than he appears.
Using calm emotions to avoid a mind crush is some next level strat.
Calm Emotions also temporarily suppresses effects of madness.
I like to imagine corazon's nat1 at 50:40 as a much cooler description of the moment. After the monster taunts corazon with running, he just draws his sword and starts heading towards it. Not rushing, but that characteristic walk, slow but with with geat determination. And as he walks towards the creature, all his friends nod to each other and rush the creature with their attacks, until corazon gets to it and sinks his blade in the monster.
That's definitely what happened in Corazon's mind.
Omg, I got chills on reading that
I love the progression of Corazon’s crew-mate from “Leather Armor Theodore” to “Leather Daddy” the fetishist
Dob: "Oh no! My mind's been blasted! I was using it!"
Egbert: "I wasn't."
Johnny’s “Denise-Downer” pun went woefully under appreciated.
Prudence seeing her friend finally overcome his curse though the power of friendship and growing as a human being: Sounds good, I'm in.
"I need an adult" they've finally broken Johnny
😂
"I take one... I swallow it"
Prudence is just a treasure.
It's probably because she swallowed it. lol
"God that'd be an awful place to end this episode, wouldn't it?"
BUT THEY DID IT ANYWAYS 😫
"Shall we?" :D
The whole "pull Dob off...the sword" bit and Egbert saying "first time in a while" after Hammerdahl gets up sent me laughing into a coughing fit. Johnny's face and "I need an adult" is so great. I get the feeling that DMing/GMing is very much like trying to herd cats, and owning 6 cats myself the chaos is familiar to me.
I absolutely adore Johnny as the creature. They're amazing at all their characters, but the creature talking and laughing to Corazon is brilliant. Merilwyn's face freezing when Johnny mentioned that the hole from Moonbeam could be under the ocean is also great. Excellent episode and I can't wait for the next one!
'If I had a coin for every time Merilwen has carelessly cast moonbeam and caused a flood of liquid to pour on and endanger the crew, I'd have two coins, which isn't a lot but it's surprising that it's happened twice'
Loving the thumbnail of presumably Egbert going his usual 30mph
Standard Egbert Z O O M S 😂
Corazon: "I said what I said. " XD
What was it he said? Couldn't hear
@@Wolffighter4ever I think something along the lines of "pull him out"
@@pinkcowqueen It was "pull him off" hence all the giggling and facepalming, and Corazon then adding "off the sword".
@@Wolffighter4ever "I pull Dob off." He originally just said "I pull Dob off" but then added ".........the sword. " because well, it could be taken a certain way. Heh.
Johnny's evil chuckle when Corazon says "It was the right thing to do" is about to be my new ringtone
Curious to find out if they had this thumbnail created before or after they established Egberts 30mph running speed 😂
I think the thumbnails are created after the episodes are filmed, so probably
01:04:44
Merilwen (and Corazón): Prudence, NO!
Prudence (and Dob and me): Prudence, yes!
Ok can we just give Kudos for Johnny's sinister acting? Chef's kiss level of bad guy!
You know the great thing about this monster, Coralzon? It's the fact that, atop being legitimately scary and completely changing the mood, the Oxventure crew don't have an exploit and have to fight it like a proper D&D battle!
The Oxventures walk so that Egbert can run 30mph
😂
Anyone else want to know what would happen if Egbert and merilwen cast moonbeam on the same spot.
Yes! Or, we could save time and you and I could try it right now. Its easy, anyone can do it.
If enough people do it, it'll be like sunbeam!
@@thomaslane1547 does anyone else actually have moonbeam? I can't remember if Dob really took it or if that was just a long-running joke. And I don't think Casimir is close enough.
The only one who can actually cast it is Egbert through a somewhat arbitrary pick of subclass.
I just like that it made Ellen start using the full suite of druid spells and wildshape instead of nerfing Merilwen.
Also the D&D answer to the original question is that spell effects don't stack. If they don't spread the moonbeam out (and thankfully the AoE can be shifted) then your just wasting a spell slot and concentration unless Johnny decides to improvise.
No! Don't cross the streams! XD
Just one cool thing they didn't mention about banishment, if the creature you cast it on isn't native to that plane and you maintain the spell for the full minute the creature is stuck back in the plane it is from.
I thought that too. But then I realised that would require them to know what their spells do 😆
"It is every doubt you've ever had about yourself. It is every mean thing anyone ever said about you. It is every unkind word, every wound, every fear you have going on at once."
So, you mean high school?
too real mate
What would be the equivalent of High school to a Wood Elf?
So Percival entered the Curse Hole a Milquetoast, and left it as Corazon De Leon.
But that transformation was a little more tragic than we previously assumed.
Informing you in a friendly manner that it's spelled Milquetoast and is a slightly obscure English word that perfectly fits what Percy would've been had he not rebelled.
Oh I didn't think of that. I thought he still had his things from before he became Corazon.
@@totz_the_plaid9625 You are correct. I always forget it's spelt differently to how it sounds. I might just edit my comment.
Heart of the "cowardly" lion. He tried so hard to live a lie before becoming ballena.
@@nixi7688 and now instead of living a lie, he's Johnny's worst nightmare.
Spoiler Alert:
[44:55] Am I the only one who was taken aback when Corazon says he was the only one that stole the curse gold? Seems like a major detail. It never dawned on me that his old crew didn't steal any curse gold, and this entire time they have been hunting him for the gold they need to return. The crew is blameless for the curse.
More tragic than PotC: the Curse of the Black Pearl 😅
Completely missed this watching it the first time and had to check.
Yeah I noticed that! I always figured it was a situation of everyone cursed taking a little bit, but in retrospect I guess it makes sense that only Corazon stole bc if it was just "stealing the gold = immortal curse" then he would have also been immortal
I think what Corazon means is that he's the only one who survived to steal any gold. They probably all took some from the pile. The cursed crew isn't hunting him to end the curse but because they are cursed and puppets of the coral monster. Once they were cursed they (presumably) had no desire to steal any more of the monster's gold.
As for why Corazon dodged the curse, it's probably to do with him not dying in the curse hole, or that the exit closed behind him before he could be afflicted.
Ah, yes. The depression and anxiety room. Wonderful.
@@Alcogod No, usually it's just anxiety.
Absolutely LOVING the Oxventurers having a more serious take in combat! Keeping the usual goofiness outside but really giving us a sense of actual danger compared to previous adventures. Keep up the great work!
Damn you Johnny. The most evil of cliff hangers.
Doing some extreme method acting there
In that case I might put the last hour or so off for a week 😅 this would be torture for me right now
You just know that he enjoyed that waaaaay to much to be good for anyone.
@@NehnBellanaris *they enjoyed that
@@ColonelHazard Did you not see the look on his face? Definitely him.
'Let's go curse a giraffe' is not a phrase I thought I needed in my life, but it's in my head now, rent free.
"Does that make all the damage it does magical? Cause It can cast fireball"
*brief silence*
"I cast fireball!"
"Touche!"😂
"Just send it. It'll be fine! " Dob, inventing their new motto 😅
THE IDEA OF MERILWEN FACING ALL HER SADNESS AND DOUBT MADE ME CRY! POOR MERILWEN!
Prudence seeking ultimate power is exactly how I would play this.
Almost every episode, i can't stop myself thinking...'Oh, if only SOMEONE had a teleport ability!'
Just leaving my own little bookmark for the Dob and Hammerdahl innuendos. 27:27
"The book on how to read" 🤣🤣🤣
Now Egbert can cast Entangle and Moonbeam, being ever more side-eyed by Merylwen
"Must go faster. Must go faster!"
"It's no use! He's can _teleport!"_
"Wait, I can! Oh, yeah!"
Johnny can be terrifying at times! I love the coral voice.
Haha! It's all the fears and doubts and such for everyone else and for Prudence it's all the happy thoughts and feelings :D
Nah. It's Cthulhu telling her she isn't quite evil enough. Basically Dr. Evil's critique of Scott.
Johnny: “I need an adult…”
Sorry, not going to find one here.
Andy getting to dig into the pathos is excellent ❤
Johnny: Would this count as a a magical attack because it can cast fireball…
Coraźon: I cast fireball!
Johnny: TOUCHÉ
46:20 Johnny's laughter there was genuinely unsettling 😮
How everyone worked together to come up with the coolest action sequence of Merilwen jumping on the bug and firing her bow was absolutely classic! Like a brainstorming session at Marvel Studios 😆
48:25 holy crap Johnny, this is supposed to be a COMEDY 🫨🫨🫨
23:58 much like a murder of wild horses, you have to let a sword robot finish killing
Absolutely living for the oxbox mom can’t cook references! Dob lies down and unbuttons his shirt “OOH- I don’t want you to see this ARGH-“
It's important for its self-esteem.
every time Paniers talks i imagine The Pirate Captain from Venture Bros.
Man prudence is adamant to get that immortality curse ain't she
Johnny: "There is the remains of a camp"
Dob: "Ooooh!"
Don't know why that got me quite as much as it did, but it really did!
And the mischievous little "shall we?" at the end, love it!
I love how geth is mostly a fantasy world And any real world stuff it has, it has fantasy equivalents of so instead of emails They just have pigeons with letter strapped to them But then the one actual piece of technology they have is they have robots, and everything else is completely fantasy. And what I love even more than that is that wasn't even orginally the case, at first, Johnny described them as automatons, but everyone latched on to the idea thatThey're robots, and so now it's been spoken into cannon that they have robots in geth
That ending! Oh man that is such an evil cliffhanger, bring on the next episode
"Roll for initiative"

It's almost as if they were cursed
40:16 By far the most broken I’ve ever seen this poor man 😂
I was getting big 'To Zanarkand' vibes from the campfire scene.
I imagined the constructor robots like the Scutters....
“My kidney!”
Also: I really think that Egbert needs a La Vache Mauve themed tabard.
Stellar episode!! Hilarious that calm emotions has finally been used for an honest to god plot driving purpose as opposed to a deus ex dob for whenever people start to raise their voices
what a great episode. such great roll play going on right here.
also nice to see what happens when the rogue sneak attack crits for insane single hit damage
If cute wounds leaves scars, Dob's torso must look like a pegboard by now 😮
Cute Wounds? I'm guessing you mean *Cure* Wounds, right???
@@NehnBellanarisno… cute wounds, when you look at a little scratch and go “oh where did you come from?”
That description of the scene at 24:25 was just too good 🤣😂
I love the idea of hammerdal being like captain hook but with canes
Yes, all damage from a magical weapon is magical damage of the weapon's type.
I think the point is that it isn't a plus one or anything. It just casts fireball like a wand.
Though I do agree that Johnny has started to use those magically resistant/immune effects after he has given them magical weapons to overcome them.
@@MorinehtarTheBlue A magic item is magical, so its damage is magical. It doesn't matter if it has a +X bonus or not.
Resistance to nonmagical damage is something you mostly only find on monsters that you're expected to fight at a high enough level that you're expected to have magical weapons by that point, so I don't think that's on Johnny.
@@thajocoth You know this and so do I but they just don't have that command of the rules that your expecting. I was pointing out how they may have made that mistake.
And the other thing was a joke hence the emoji. *rolls eyes* Though they should have had those weapons ages ago (druids and monks get equivalencies in their class features at level 6).
Then they go hey let's use these creatures with these neat magic resistances.
In many senses they aren't level appropriate and aren't relevant since the Oxventurers have been provided the appropriate weapons to overcome them.
I am never having bad day when there is oxventure
Loved this amazing episode great job guys, also think the battle music was the best level so far. Great job Andy your role playing was so great
“What was in this room last time?”
I really wanted the answer to be “Giant mechanical stag beetle.”
Actually Banishment only works for a minute on creatures native to your plane. For extraplanar creatures, the spell banishes them to their plane of origin indefinitely.
The fan-base has universally agreed to not rules-lawyer the group.
Well the duration is still important. It has to go the full minute for the banishment to ensure the target doesn't come back.
@@LungsOutJem I've seen enough comments to say that it isn't nearly universal. Mostly it has been conceded that some things are never going to change regardless.
And that comments left on prerecorded series such as this are hardly going to be able to effect the outcome. 😅
For those who need it: Prudence doesn’t realize this, so she dropped concentration at the 1 minute mark.
@@kaniamia Correction: Jane doesn't realize it. One of the few situations where the semantics is important.
Prudence is a 9th level Warlock without negatives to her Intelligence or Wisdom and wouldn't likely fail to understand how her spells work.
And the 1 minute mark is Concentration for entire duration of the spell. Granted I'm not sure if you are making an argument for or against in this case.
Lovely music in this one. :)
Best comments:
Egbert: "I would like to... hit it. With... something."
Prudence: "This thing is weird and gross. I feel like under different circumstances, we might have been friends."
My headcannon is that mind blast feels like brain freeze 😂
Thank you for inspiring me to get some ice cream! 😁
"Let's go curse a giraffe."
Truly a sinister place to end an episode. I hope the Oxventurers repropose those robot arms for the Joyful Damnation. What can I say, I like robots.
Also might as well be that person cause why not, if this Coral-zon is from another plane of existence & Prudence maintained the spell for the full duration then it would just stay gone.
Should we expect them to know their spells perfectly? Of course not. Did Mike ask what level he was? Yes, yes he did. I rest my case your honors(I've lost where this was going, have a great day).
Dang, that ending!
I picture the Pan Dimensional Gargle Blaster when I hear mind blast.
Now to wait nervously for next week. Really good episode but also aaaaaaaaaaaaaah
YES! The first time they actually acknowledge that moonbeam is a persistent spell that causes continuous damage if the enemies stay in it!
Not the first time, actually. They mention it plenty of times, they just never really apply that rule. Probably because all their encounters end so quickly lol
@@mar_speedman Ah, could be. Maybe I've just missed it when they've mentioned it.
@@WhiteTiger950 it has definitely happened both ways. Merilwen does get a bit screwed because I can only think of one instance where they remembered she can keep moonbeam up and take an action.
@@goofyfurball7311 Considering how often friendly people walk through it it's probably for the best. During the body swap episode, Ellen actually told Mike he could sustain moonbeam over multiple turns but he opted to uppercut the duck as a bear twice as he thought that would be more fun which I feel is a perfectly valid summary of Oxventure tactical decision making.
@@consolescrub4031 very true. The rule of cool/funny does tend to be the major factor in most decisions.
11:01 I don’t think there’s a more quintessential Oxventure move than accidentally reading the wrong spell’s description when trying to help another player. Dob knows Greater Invisibility, which only lasts for a minute but isn’t ended by attacking, but Prudence read Invisibility, which lasts for an hour but does end on attack.
Though to be fair Dob uses it more like Invisibility usually, completely ignoring that making a party member invisible during combat is one of the best things you can do.
MARK THE DAY FIRST TIME EGBERT EVER USES HIS CROWBAR
I feel as if the sessions are getting dirtier as they go on. I swear the pulling off stuff happens a lot recently.
Not that I'm complaining it is very funny
Edit: OH NO THEY GOT TO THE STICKY BEDROLL!
Imagine next episode Corazon has to sacrifice something or piece of himself to either defeat/kill/banish the monster permanently or seal the monster in one of his items or himself
"As long as i have my deity's favour" might not have aged that well with what happened in that theatre...
40:00 the moment when Johnny was officially broken
They broke Johnny
Again 😂
Jane's "Oh dear" at 1:11:11 sounded kind of American haha. It's pretty cool
Marelwyn has a dramatic face scar eggbert has a kidney extraction scar and dib has a heal wounds belly scar
Well if someone swung a sword at a kitchen island, it would stop the sword or bounce it off.
Prudence... read the last 5 words of Banishment.
"If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you’re on, the target is banished with a faint popping noise, returning to its home plane. If the spell ends before 1 minute has passed, the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied. Otherwise, the target doesn’t return."
Not that Oxventure has ever been about rules, but technically, the creature should have been banished permanently after 1 minute of unbroken concentration.
Another brilliant episode. Well done all!
So, this boss sounds a lot like a shuckle in a coral shell. EVIL ELDRITCH SHUCKLE!! Water-Dark Type
This episode has outclassed previous combats. They are all getting better at the game!
3:15 I would certainly watch an Oxventerure Flip This House show- the decorations would be to die for.
nooooo the cliff hanger
why?!!! lol
i even had to wait an extra day to see the episode curses XD
My favourite room was the 'all in le head room'
Of all the perfect times for Egbert to just chuck a bomb which he does constantly he doesn't do it
i mean, for the robot, couldn't corazon have just snuck the bomb into the robot's gears and lit it?
But that's the _beauty_ of Egbert; he is totally unpredictable and contrary.
Oh Johnny, you tease😂
lil' Speedy is at it again!
This made me laugh with confusion! Impressive!
