Hello Steve, Thank you for this clear video. Unfortunately I have a Samsung tv with no headphone socket, but only a digital audio out connection. Could you tell me how to connect to my beolab 3's? Many thanks!
Hi, thanks for your kind words! Unless your TV has a headphone socket fitted, a direct cable connection to the speakers is not possible. However, you can still connect the TV optical output to the speakers by one of the options below:- 1) Buy a B&O Core from your local B&O store (approx. £600 GBP) for remote control of the speakers via the B&O app, or 2) Buy a B&O Connection Hub from your local B&O store (approx. £149 GBP) for remote control of the speakers via the TV remote, or 3) Add an AV receiver for full surround sound, with volume control from the receiver remote. Please note that I don't sell any of the devices mentioned above, only the cables! Please let me know your preferred option and I will be pleased to advise how to get everything working.
hello!! I just received the cable, first of all thank you for the video, the explanations and the shipping. I placed the order from Spain and I am very happy because it arrived very well on the established days. The only thing is that I have a question, let's see if you can solve it for me, I have connected the two speakers to an LG UF950V television. The sound is perfect and there is no delay or anything with respect to the image, the only problem is that you hear a constant sound coming out of the two speakers, a typical distortion sound, you hear it at a low volume, but you hear it all the time Whether or not the television is on, simply by being on, is quite annoying. Is there a way to solve and remove this sound. Thank you very much for everything, as I say, everything else is perfect. thank you so much
Hi, thanks for your order, I am sorry to hear about the issue. This may be caused within the tv, please can you test this by connecting the cable and speakers to a different device with a headphone jack, eg. A phone or iPod to see if the noise is still present? Please send me a message via my website and I will be happy to help further.

How about turning the BeoLab 3 into wisa compliant speakers to use with a B&O TV such as Avant? Would you be able to explain or do a video about the B&O Receiver 1’s
No problem! You can easily add a B&O Receiver 1 to each Beolab 3 speaker with one of these cables for wireless sound from the Avant TV: soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/31-325-rj45-to-powerlink-compatible-all-in-one-cable-convert-new-2013-ethernet-powerlink-to-traditional-8-pin-din-powerlink.html#/9-length-18m
Hi, Yes, I can help! Basically, you have three options if you wish to use the speakers with a non-B&O TV:- 1) Connect two Beolab speakers to the headphone socket of the TV for stereo sound, with volume control from the TV remote, or 2) Connect the TV and all of the Beolab speakers to a Beosound music system (if you have one) for stereo sound through all speakers, with volume control from the B&O remote, or 3) Add an external AV receiver with pre-out sockets (expect to pay from around £500 GBP in the UK) to allow all of the speakers to be connected for full surround sound with control from the receiver remote control. I can (of course!) provide cables for any of the above options. If you can please let me know your preferred option via the contact page at soundsheavenly.com then I will be pleased to advise on the cabling required.
Hi, it is always better to use unbalanced outputs for the best sound quality here, as balanced outputs don’t have the correct signal level for use with these speakers. There is no advantage in using balanced outputs unless the speakers accept a balanced signal. Beolab speakers (except 50 and 90) need unbalanced inputs
Yes, as the Core only has one RJ45 output, you can use a splitter at the Core ( soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/27-313-rj45-powerlink-compatible-splitter-new-powerlink-to-two-8-pin-din-powerlink-compatible-sockets.html#/20-length-02m ) then two Powerlink cables to the two speakers ( soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/20-266-powerlink-mk-3-compatible-8-pin-din-cable-with-4-cores-wired-low-profile-cable.html#/1-length-05m )

Love the videos and bought one of your cables for my Beolab 2 subwoofer, worked an absolute treat! Really fancy these little Beolab 3s but wondered how they would perform in a surround sound set up connected to an av receiver? James.
Thanks! Yes, Beolab 3s work well in a surround sound system, especially as Side or rear speakers alongside Beolab 9s. Adding a subwoofer will really help the sound for movies, but it is not essential. If you need any further help connecting the speakers, please ask and I will be happy to help !
Sounds Heavenly thanks Steve, one last question, I had to buy one of your cables for my Beolab 2 that had a power supply to trigger the sub on.. would the Beolab 3s need that trigger? Or would they just detect a signal and power on? James.
jim8oy Beolab 3s don’t need the trigger, they can be set to Line mode so they turn on automatically when the music plays. Please feel free to get in touch at soundsheavenly.com and I can help you to connect the speakers
Hello.. Great content. But please help. Can I connect B&O Beolab3 speakers to Sonos Amp? Do I just purchase 8pin Din cut the ends and set the speakers to Line? Thank you in advance.
If you have not yet purchased (or if you have recently purchased) the Sonos system, I would advise you to return the Connect:Amp unit and change it to a Connect unit which has audio out sockets for direct connection of Beolab speakers. Using the Connect:Amp unit also requires a special Attenuated Converter ( soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/33-power-amplifier-to-beolab-line-in-attenuated-convertor-kit.html ) for Connect:Amp unit, as well as the cables listed below, to reduce the amplified outputs of the Connect:Amp to safe levels for the Beolab speakers to accept.
For either version of Sonos unit, you will then need one set of the following cables for each pair of Beolab 3 speakers to be connected:-
Hi! I’m thinking of getting the beolab 20 and the beolab 3, I don’t want the beo vision, what do I do for centre speaker 🔈? And do I need a sub woofer?

Hi Steve, truly great content. I've been browsing some of your videos and was wondering if you could help me setting up a wireless connection to my Beosound 9000 and from there to my twin Beolab 9 speakers. I live in Portugal and have purchased an av:link device online, connected it to the Aux port on the Beosound 9000 system and can get some sound on on of the speakers, but not on both. Any advice?
Thanks! Getting a good quality wireless link from the Beosound 9000 to the Beolab 9 speakers is possible, but cheap solutions won't work - the only option I have found that works properly for this setup is the B&O Transmitter 1/Receiver 1 system. I suggest returning the AV Link products to the seller, as they aren't suited for your setup. The simplest option is a direct cable, or the B&O solution will be required if you want a wireless link. Please ask if you need any help with connecting either of these options and I will be pleased to assist!
Thanks Steve, I will probably try to do that then. In the meantime, is there a way I can reuse the av:link, like operating on a speaker basis (connecting it to the Beolab 9's) rather than a sound systems basis?
@@paulopires7668 The AV Link product is very unlikely to give you good results with your Beolab speakers. Best to stick to a cable connection, or the B&O solution for wireless, or you risk spoiling the sound of these superb speakers.....
@@paulopires7668 Good plan! You can connect the speakers to the B&O Receivers with these cables: soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/31-325-rj45-to-powerlink-compatible-all-in-one-cable-convert-new-2013-ethernet-powerlink-to-traditional-8-pin-din-powerlink.html#/9-length-18m

Hello, I have 4 beolab 3 and one beolab 2, so far I have been using spliters for the beolab 3, should I spect a loss of power or sound quality from the beolabs 3? Thanks in advance!

@@gabrielcorrea4548 Hi, Thanks for your purchase! Yes, that is correct, there is no loss of power or sound quality, 4 x Beolab 3s plus the Beolab 2 should sound better then 2 speakers.
Yes, I can help! The only way to connect the speakers directly to your TV is to use the headphone socket on the TV, as this is the only socket where the volume of the sound can be controlled. You can connect a pair of Beolab 8000 speakers to the headphone socket of your TV using this cable:- soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m Please set both speakers to "Line" mode using the small switch next to the input sockets. If you don't have a headphone socket on the TV, please let me know , as we can then find an alternative way to get the speakers working for you with control of the volume.
Hi, please use this cable instead for your Beolab Pentas instead, as they need to connect via the RCA line inputs when used directly with a phone: soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m

I think these would go really well in my setup, how tall / large are these, does anyone know? Im getting conflicting answers!
You can find dimensions and full specifications for both speakers at www.BeoWorld.org
@@soundsheavenly much appreciated:-)
@@soundsheavenly Thanks again, I'll try to find a pair of affordable but guaranteed Beolab Receiver 1 and connect the speaker only.
Hi! Thanks for great videos! I wonder. Is it possible to use only 1 BeoLab 3 and use it as a speaker to my computer? And is there something I need to think of then? Will the power shut itself when the computer is turned off etc? Thanks again :)
Thanks! Yes, this is possible, please use this cable (you only need to connect one DIN plug for one speaker), the speaker will turn on and off automatically when it is set to Line mode: soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/70-341-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-powerlink-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m
i have a beosound 9000, BeoLab 3 and Beolab 2, and i would like to make the speakers and sub work with AirPlay. is there some way to do this so that everything still works?
im thinking some sonos or whatever that receives both the beosound 9000 and the Airplay and goes to the speakers from there? would that work?
Hi, yes this is possible, this cable will link a Sonos Port or Sonos Connect to the Beosound to play to the speakers: soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/52-72-stereo-rca-twin-phono-to-beosound-aux-input-din-socket.html#/2-length-1m
@@soundsheavenly fantastic! Do you know if this setup would make a delay in audio? That might be my biggest concern, as I’d like to stream from Apple TV and nothing is worse than audio delay when watching tv 😅
@@broggerdk Any wireless link will add some delay to the audio - Airplay tries to manage the delay, but you can't always completely remove it. The best option is always a direct cable connection when watching TV or movies, as this way there is no audio delay.
Thanks!
Thanks for your kind gift!
Hello, I have 4 beolab 3 and one beolab 2, so far I have been using spliters for the beolab 3, should I spect a loss of power or sound quality from the beolabs 3? Thanks in advance!
Hi, the splitters that I provide don't affect the sound quality, you will be fine using these to link the Beolab 3 speakers to the outputs of the Beolab 2: soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/26-129-powerlink-compatible-splitter-doubler-2-fully-wired-powerlink-compatible-sockets.html#/20-length-02m
Sounds Heavenly , hello Steve, I bought the splitters from you, so having 4 beolabs should sound“better” than having only 2?, no decrease of power from the beolab 2 as well?, best regards.
@@gabrielcorrea4548 Hi, Thanks for your purchase! Yes, that is correct, there is no loss of power or sound quality, 4 x Beolab 3s plus the Beolab 2 should sound better then 2 speakers.
Hi ! Please help me connect my beolab 8000 to my Samsung smart tv . Thank you!
Yes, I can help! The only way to connect the speakers directly to your TV is to use the headphone socket on the TV, as this is the only socket where the volume of the sound can be controlled. You can connect a pair of Beolab 8000 speakers to the headphone socket of your TV using this cable:-
soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m
Please set both speakers to "Line" mode using the small switch next to the input sockets. If you don't have a headphone socket on the TV, please let me know , as we can then find an alternative way to get the speakers working for you with control of the volume.
Will i be able to us these two canles you mention to connect a pair og beolab penta mk3 to iphone?
Hi, please use this cable instead for your Beolab Pentas instead, as they need to connect via the RCA line inputs when used directly with a phone: soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m
@@soundsheavenly Thank you! I didn't know the pants mk3 had a regular line level rca connector
@@andersschroder2483 Hi, yes all versions of the powered Beolab Penta speakers have an RCA Line input for use with non-B&O products.
Does the beolab3 work with 110v and 220v? Thanks
Please check the label on the back of the speaker carefully, this will clearly indicate the voltage that the speaker can be used on. Never plug a mains powered product into a different voltage supply unless you have checked the voltage label to ensure that it is safe and correct for the voltage you wish to use.
Nice video Can you test beolab 1? :)
Thanks! I am planning to test Beolab 9 and Penta next, I will try to cover Beolab 1 soon!
@@soundsheavenly Ty :)
dammit if you could only answer this q I would greatly appreciate it , just bough Beovox CX50 Bang & Olufsen speakers can I just cut off the cord and plug into a normal stereo?
Hi, yes you can! If you don't already have the cords, I stock these here (I can supply them with either B&O plugs or bare wire ends for a normal stereo): soundsheavenly.com/beovox-passive-unpowered-loudspeakers/24-1-2-pin-din-beovox-cx-speaker-cables-pair-also-for-beovox-2500-and-rondstraler.html#/5-length-5m
You should just do the connection and record the process.
Thanks, good idea 👍
